List of seneca discord servers

Below are some discord servers that people can use to find other seneca students online and help out each other.

Server: Seneca College

A general Seneca server that should be helpful for most users

Server: Computer Programming Seneca

A server geared towards CPA / CPD students, they also do IRL meetup-ups.

Server: SC Software Development

Another programming server, geared more towards BSD students.

Server: BSD Students of 2021

A server for students to connect with others who started in 2021 in the BSD program.

Server: Seneca College

A less active but still helpful seneca college server.

Seneca College Programming

A server with 15K memebers.

If there are other servers that I may not be familiar with that can help out Seneca students let me know and I will try to include them in this post.

Move In Helpers King Residence

Are they strict about your amount of guests/helpers at move in at King Residence? My husband and I would both like to be there with our daughter but so would her BF and sister. I see it says 2 helpers. Are they strict about that? Could we take turns going in with her?

Newnham LCKA Grads, how is the job search going?

I'm starting in the program next week and haven't been able to find any data on employment opportunities post grad.

Are any grads willing to share their stories?

Was it easy, or hard? Did you land a job, or are you still looking? Did the 20 day job placement yield positive results? Did you learn anything on the job or were you just a glorified gopher?

Anything to help paint a more complete picture of the program is greatly appreciated!

COE delay?

This is my first semester at Seneca. I was at Algonquin for years prior, and they were by no means fast, but I'd usually have my COE by around this point. Is it normal for the confirmation of enrollment to be this late? Or am I just being impatient? I feel like im checking obsessively.

BSN King Campus – First Year program orientation date?

I’m a first-year BSN student at King Campus. I’ve already chosen my timetable and built my schedule, and classes are starting next week.
I keep checking for the BSN program orientation date, but I can’t find anything anywhere. At the same time, Seneca keeps emailing and reminding us to check for our program orientation and saying that attendance is mandatory !!! Has anyone in first-year BSN at King Campus found the orientation date/time yet? Am I missing something, or has it just not been posted yet?

Newnham unused OCAS fee voucher/code

Hey everyone,
I’m currently in the process of finalizing my college applications for the upcoming January 11, 2027 intake. I’m a domestic student planning to apply for advanced engineering technology programs at Humber, George Brown, Seneca, and Centennial.
I’ve already completed my profile and have my transcripts and WES evaluations ready to link, but the $150 OCAS application fee is currently a huge financial barrier for me right now.
I’m reaching out to see if anyone happens to have an unused OCAS voucher code from a recent open house, recruitment webinar, or info session that they won't be using?
I’ve already sent inquiries to the financial aid/admissions desks at the colleges to see if they have any active promos, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to check here in case someone has a spare code they don't need.
If anyone can help out, please shoot me a DM! It would honestly mean a lot and help me lock in my choices before the programs start filling up.
Thanks so much in advance!

Hey! I’m starting the FLS program at Seneca and was wondering if face piercings are allowed? I have a few (nose, eyebrow, lip) and I’m not sure if they need to be removed for class or placements. 😭
If anyone in FLS knows, please lmk!

BEST tuition payment WAY?

Hi,

I'm trying to pay tuition by credit card, as I have always done.

But they now charge a service fee.

Do you guys know any ways to avoid this fee?

And I also want to pay through my family member's AMEX to get some points. Are there any free ways to get points?

Remote Learning HRM certificate program + working full-time?

I’m starting the full-time Human Resources Management certificate this fall, and I accepted a full-time job offer today. I wanted to ask whether, because the program is fully online, I would be able to work full-time and access my classes, course materials, tests, and other coursework on my own time outside of my work hours. Are the synchronous classes and other requirements flexible enough to allow students to work full-time? If not it’s looking like I might have to drop my program and lose my deposit.

Diploma to Degree Tips and Advice

Hi everyone,

I recently graduated from a three year diploma at Seneca, and am now pursuing a pathway into one of Seneca’s degree programs.

I was wondering if anyone who has done a degree pathway program or is completing a degree in general has any study tips and advice.

I’m a bit anxious about the content as I know degrees are based more on research, theory, and require critical analytic skills.

Applying Cybersecurity in Seneca

I’m planning to apply for the Cybersecurity program at Seneca this Fall and was wondering if anyone here has any insight or experience with the program.

Is it worth studying Cybersecurity at Seneca? I’d especially appreciate hearing about the quality of the program, co-op/work opportunities, and job prospects after graduation.

Just curious to hear what others think! Thanks!

Questions for MES (Office Admin - Health Services) grads/current students!

Hi everyone! I’m currently in the process of transferring into the Office Administration - Health Services (MES) diploma program starting this Fall, and I had a few questions for anyone currently in it or who has recently graduated.

I'm switching over from Nursing program, so I'm trying to figure out the best setup for my schedule and workload.

A few specific questions I’d love your insight on:

1. Online Delivery vs. Newnham Campus (Flexible):

For those who have taken MES, how did you find the fully online format vs. doing Flexible delivery anchored to Newnham? Is online clear and well-organized, or do you end up self-teaching a lot of the billing software and medical terminology? If you did Flexible, did you actually find it helpful to drop into campus live streams/classes when needed?

2. How do tests/exams work for Online Delivery while working full-time?

If I choose the online route, are midterms and finals completely asynchronous (open for a 24-48 hour window), or are they scheduled live at specific times (like evenings/weekends)? Do they use strict online proctoring tools (like Respondus LockDown Browser/Webcam)? Asking because I’ll be balancing my studies around full-time work and family commitments.

3. 3rd Semester Field Placement vs. Simulation:

How does the 3rd semester work? Is the field placement the only thing you take in that final term, or do you take other courses alongside it? Also, how does the scheduling work if you choose the Medical Office Simulation alternative instead of the in-person placement?

Any advice, professor recommendations, or tips on what to expect transferring in would be super appreciated. Thanks in advance! 😊

LOOKING TO MEET NEW PEOPLE

Hey everyone! I’m 21M and currently studying at Seneca.

I’m really into horror movies, especially found footage (always looking for recommendations 👀). I also love reading and writing, play guitar and ukulele, and I’m always down to talk about music.

I’m also down to game if we find something fun to play together. I’m on summer break right now(tho schools starting soon) so I’ve got way too much free time 😭

Would be cool to meet some new people from Seneca, whether you wanna talk or eventually hang out. Feel free to DM me if you’re into horror, books, music, games, or honestly just wanna talk about random stuff
