One constantly comes across endless questions and debates online: Can we do this sadhana? This deity is ugra. Is Vamachara greater than Samayachara? Is Dakshinachara purified Vamachara? Is Kaulachara or Samayachara superior? There are so many discussions surrounding deities and traditions that ultimately offer zero practical use.

Over time, I have realized that too much academic curiosity about deities is completely useless unless it directly helps you in your sadhana.

Yes, there are different acharas. Yes, when you worship certain deities, things can turn upside down overnight. Yes, sometimes you have to lose something material to gain something spiritual. Yes, some paths take longer—maybe even two more lifetimes. Yes, some deities are ugra, some are peaceful, and some are dangerous. And yes, certain people should not worship certain deities.

But my question to the seeker is simply: "So what?"

While having a Guru is essential, one of the primary qualities demanded by the Deity is absolute fearlessness, health, and strength. In Shakta Dharma, there is no place for the weak, the feeble, or self-loathing crybabies. This path is not meant for them. You can weep before your Mother in devotion, but self-pity is not what sadhana is about.

Sadhana is systematic execution. It is project work. There are specific things one must do in daily life, before and after one's practice. The only thing that matters is executing one's sadhana as per the orders of the Deity, the Guru, and the Shastra.

Eliminate people from our lives if they stand in the way of our sadhana—the Deity demands it. Take the help of the Deity if that worldly bondage is too strong to break on our own. Maintain a broader perspective on life.

• Are people quarreling with you? Let them.
• Is your wife threatening you? Let her.
• Are you failing in your job? Fail.
• Are you successful in life, with your family, wife, and career? Good, but so what?

Miseries, defeats, failures, and successes are all just temporary parts of life.

Consider someone who worshipped a deity like Dhumavati, lost everything, and later realized he was misled by a fraud astrologer or internet mantrika. While failing to evaluate the person who gave him that mantra was his own fault, as spiritual aspirants, we should recognize the raw presence and awesome energy that She unleashed. It proves that if one is skillful and dedicated enough, the Deity's existence and presence are real and undeniable.

Having a project-based approach toward spiritual practice has helped me immensely. Simply set a target, achieve it no matter what, and only then move on to your laukika (worldly) responsibilities.

If you are losing friends because of your spiritual obsession, let them go. We have the Queen of the entire universe with us, and we can comfortably wait for countless lifetimes for Her. Let us become madly intoxicated with another reality and merge ourselves completely into Her leela (divine play). Live for Her and die for Her. Become mad in Her devotion.

• Are you a Vamachari? Fine, go do it for the Deity.
• Are you a Samayachari? Fine, just go do it for the Deity.
• Are you a Dakshinachari? Just do it for the deity.

No one cares.

No one cares. Sampradayas do not matter, and acharas do not matter. In the end, nothing else matters because there is only one ultimate Truth—one that is fearless, completely liberated, and perpetually enjoying Itself.

Don't have a Guru? So what? Chant Bhagawati Durga’s name 100 crore times. Durga Dasa got to behold Her purely through Durga Nama, without needing complex Navakshari or Ashtakshari mantras—unlike degenerates and scoundrels like me. Chant Hare Krishna 100 crore times to see King of Gods. Chant Mahadeva nama 500000 times very month . Chant stotras. Read puranas. Dance. Smear your self with Bhashma. Or sometimes do not worship anyone. Just look at magnificence and also insignificance of life and existence. become awestruck . No one cares.

The only thing that truly matters is how we are utilizing this body in Her service.

The world itself is a living cremation ground. People do not visit the shmashana to die—they die out in the world, in their daily lives, and are merely brought to the cremation ground to be disposed of.

So, what is it that you expect to gain from visiting a physical cremation ground that is actually far more peaceful and far less fearsome than this world—a world where people are dying like flies every single day to ego, delusion, and decay?

What is it that you hope to achieve there in the shmashana that you cannot achieve right here, right now, in the crucible of this world?

Let us not crave for initiations, esoteric traditions or hoary rituals. Let us do it if she wills. But we know her tattva and let us internalize and live it. She is indifferent from this world.

few things i've been wondering about daily sadhana, would love inputs from ppl who've been doing this longer than me. does baati need to be twisted a specific way or is plain cotton baati fine too? seen some ppl very particular about single vs double twist etc, is that just personal style or does it actually matter for the sadhana. also what's the significance of colour in baati, like red vs white vs yellow ones you get in stores, is it tied to specific devis/devtas or just decorative.

main one though is pravaha of used baati/dhoop. back home this was easy, just go to a river or pond nearby. living overseas now and there's basically no accessible flowing water most of the time. so how are people actually doing pravah when they don't have that option? does tap water down a drain count or is that considered disrespectful. does a bucket of water at home and later pouring into soil work as an alternative

context is i'm doing this pretty consistently now and want to make sure i'm not missing something basic that actually matters vs stuff that's more regional/personal preference. really appreciate any guidance, especially if anyone here also lives outside India and has figured out a workaround

Are there anyone who took diksha from Devipuram? I have few queries and will be glad if anyone can help answering them?

The pre-requisites and basic sadhna is online. But it is mentioned intermediate and advanced courses are in-person.

1. How many days/months do we need to stay in ashram for intermediate and advanced courses?

2. How much time one takes to go to intermediate courses from basic courses.

3. Who is the main guru who gives mantra upadesha and diksha? And did they got permission from amrithananda ji to continue the lineage?

The reason for this questions is i am searching for a guru who can initiate me into sri vidya and i find devi puram is one of the authentic lineages.

And I really wanted to know the duration we need to stay for intermediate and advanced stages, because I think it is difficult to stay there for multiple months (I cant leave my job, I am the only one earning in my family).

Hi All, I started praying to lord Bhairav with one of his mantras. I started it from April and in the first week of doing it, I had one dream.
Dream 1: I had a dream where someone was trying to kill me with a gun and seeing no chance to escape I started chanting the same mantra that I have been chanting and seeing this I escaped. This was my first dream.Initially I assumed that the mantra is working fine so it may be a sign.

Then I increased my sadhana with certain count of the malas.I also did 40 days sankalpa and increased my mala to 11 mala after a week from 5 malas.

Dream 2: Last week I had a similar dream where I was attacked by a bull and I had no place to escape. I was almost going to get killed and the bull had hit me twice and I started chanting the same mantra. This time after I started chanting the mantra the bull became affectionate and it left me. I could feel patting the head of the bull.

I am not sure what significance these dreams have but can someone help me or tell me if it has any meaning.

I've been going through the discourses of Bapuji Dashrathbhai Patel, a Gujarati teacher, and one of his claims sits oddly with me. I'd like to hear how it reads from the Shakta side.

His position is that Shiva's constant dhyana is not personal tapas or withdrawal. It is an unbroken connection with Adi Shakti, and through that connection he receives direction regarding his role in creation, preservation and dissolution. He also holds that when Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva cannot halt certain destructive forces, it is Shakti who manifests directly — and not gently.

I put this to a Shaiva community first. Two answers came back, both thoughtful, neither quite the same.

The first said this is a Shakta reading rather than a Shaiva one, and cautioned me not to present one teacher's interpretation as the tradition's position.

The second said something I keep turning over: that Shiva is always gazing at His beloved, who is the inner light of all, who is sat-chit-ananda. Everyone else stares at Her unknowingly; Shiva's joy is that He does so knowingly. So His meditation isn't receiving instruction — it is knowing love.

That second answer feels closer to Shakta ground to me, but I may be reading it wrong.So, my questions here:

Does Shakta tradition describe Shiva as receiving direction from Adi Shakti — or is "direction" already the wrong frame, because there is no separation for anything to be transmitted across?

Is His meditation understood as dependence, as union, or as adoration?And where does the Devi Bhagavatam actually place Shiva relative to Adi Shakti?

I want to know where can I meet genuine sri vidya gurus.

I am from AP, so if there are any gurus in south india, it would be better. If its not in south india, I am willing to travel anywhere in india.

I seriously want to meet guru and start sadhna and eventually want to get diksha and continue the sadhna for rest of my life. I only wanted to do sadhna to get devi anugraha and bhakti and I am not doing sadhna for any extraordinary material benefits or siddis, except for a peaceful normal life and always remaining close to mother's feet in every situation.

So please tell me where can I meet genuine gurus so that i can meet them and who can give diksha (only if guru thinks I am eligible).

I’ve been very curious as to why Ammans like Mariamman, Angala Amman, Periyachi amman etc have snakes with them. There shown with a five headed snake over them or hold a Damaru with snake wrapped around it.

I’m very curious on the connection between snakes and Amman.

Any resources or answers would help❤️

MARITIME GODS AND GODDESSES

Images of Goddesses smeared with vermilion are seen often at every confluence of rivers and along the coast of Odisha as believed that they would protect the sailing ships . The Fisherman communities in Kakatpur, Nimapada ,Satyabadi, Khurda and Banapur areas of Puri district perform the Chaiti Ghoda dance on the Full-moon day of Chaitra. The community worships the goddess Basuli who is believed to have the head of a horse. The horse dance thus becomes a necessary part of their invocation to the goddess. In local legends, the deity, often associated with navigation is also especially in her aspect of Mangala or occasionally Kali/Chamunda. In Balasore town, the goddess Nimkali, who stands at the heart of the city, was especially worshiped by sailors and ship merchants who offer their Puja before setting out for sea trade. Even in the interior of Odisha, various goddesses are worshiped in respect to protection of their ships during sea voyage. At Subarnapur a rock in the Mahanadi, representing goddess Lankesvari, is worshiped by the boatmen when passing through the gorge of the river. The image of Durga worshiped along coastal Odisha for safety in navigation . For example , the Ramachandi temple near Konark. Here few Goddesses across the state Odisha need special mention because of their status as popular maritime goddesses .1) Dhamarai (daughter of the sea) of Dhamara, an important port known form historical records and situated at the mouth of Vaitarani: 2) Pattamangala of Chhatrapada near Narendrapur: 3) Adi Mangala of Balikudi: 4) Kharakhai of Kasturikana: 5) Budhi-Basuli of Tentulida: 6) Dalesvari of Kandagoredi: and 7) Andhra Ghiri Thakurani of Bantalapur. Boatmen plying in Chilka lake, on the other hand, enlist the aid of the goddess Kalijai, the presiding deity enshrined in a temple on an island inside the lake. They believe that she is a very benevolent goddess and saves anyone who asks for her help during sea travel through the chilika mouth.These deities are worshiped by the people of Odisha associated with maritime trade and commerce.

HII! This is my first post!

I’ve been a Hindu for majority of my life and I’m curious as too know why goddesses like Durga and Bhadrakali emerge from gods and not on there own?

Since their forms of the primordial Adi Parashakti shouldn’t they just appear when called? Why did Durga emerge from the gods in the story of mahishasura? Why did Bhadrakali emerge from third eye to destroy Daksha’s Yajna?

I’m very curious as to know why. Any answers or resources would help a lot🩵🩵
