πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Looking For Help Counseling Options Help

I'm looking to start counseling, just to help sort out all the things going through my body. For background, I have family/childhood trauma, high stress job (not looking to quit), and overall just feeling overwhelmed.

I do need cash pay as we do not have insurance, but also not able to spend $200 a session. I also am not religious so don't want anyone to tell me to talk to god, etc.

I feel like i'm looking for a needle in a haystack and just need some guidance on where to start, who to contact.

Appreciate the help and reading this far!

🎀 Discussion Permit/shed/building inspectors

I recently got a shed built and requested a final inspection for it. We were waiting around for a call or doorbell ringing between 10am-12pm today, maybe so they would tell us they are here to inspect it. Then I checked the CSS online and it said they had completed the inspection at 10:00am. Which brings me to my question:

What do they even do during an inspection?

🚚 Moving to Sioux Falls Moving help needed last minute

So long story short I move into my apartment tomorrow. I get the keys at 915am. I hired movers to unload me through uhaul (never again). They haven’t contacted me, returned my calls or emails so I don’t know what’s going on with them and I already paid. Well I’ve had three cervical spine surgeries in the last 14 months and the last one was 10 weeks ago so I’m not supposed to lift anything above 20 lbs. does anyone know of a company they recommend to move stuff in for me tomorrow that’s not crazy expensive? It’s like half a studio apartment. A queen bed, recliner two TVs are the heaviest things. It is an upstairs unit though. A few boxes and my clothes which I can do. Any info or recommendations is greatly appreciated, thank you

Update. I got some help. Thank you everyone

🎀 Discussion Veterinarian Recommendations

Hey neighbors! Moved here a month ago and looking for a new animal doc for my 4 fur babies.

All 4 cats are current on vaccinations (thank goodness because we had a bat in the house 😱) and all are spay/neutered. Also they are inside only, so no threat to neighbor’s gardens, pets or wildlife. They are all healthy but our big boy (a cow cat no less) has the catabetes and requires prescription Senvelgo.

So who do you go to for your fur babies for routine check ups and meds? And who’s the best for emergencies?

Also, I need to get the cow cat in pretty soon as we just noticed he’s developing balding spots with no redness, sores or scabs and we aren’t sure if it’s med related or new environment.

Cat tax included.

TIA and have an awesome day!

🎀 Discussion Next Edge Academy Opinions

I am 37 years old and do not really have any experience in combat sports other then a little Army Compatives 17 years ago. Has any gone or does anyone go to Next Edge Academy tell me how the vibe is there? Will a untalented middle aged man feel welcome or outcast? Im generally pretty outgoing once I get comfortable but can be a little nervous at first.

πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Looking For Help 15-year-old looking for a job in Sioux Falls

I’m 15 and have applied to a bunch of places around Sioux Falls, but I haven’t really heard back from anywhere. The only place I actually got an interview at was Culver’s, but they never got back to me after the interview.
Does anyone know of places that hire 15-year-olds around the 57110 area or at least somewhere reasonably close? I’m just looking for a part-time job after school/weekends. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

At least, I think it’s a mountain lion. Doesn’t look like a fox to me, but it was dark. It was on the southeast corner of Wall Lake.

πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Looking For Help Snowblower/Small Engine Tuneup

Any recommendations for a small engine repair/tuneup group in Sioux Falls?

I have a cub cadet snowblower I’d like for someone to tune up before the winter. Would like an oil change, spark plug, new blade, etc. I could bring it to a shop or I would be interested in someone that does house calls.

Thanks!

πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Looking For Help Looking for mobile mechanic

Like the title says, looking for a good mobile mechanic that can do a wheel bearing on a 2001 Saturn SC2. I picked up a project car back in June that was supposed to be fairly simple, and while working on something else, noticed that the passenger front wheel was not sitting right. The car CANNOT drive as it currently is so I cannot get to a shop, and being that I bought the car to learn to drive manual in, can't drive it home if I get it towed to the shop πŸ˜…πŸ€£

The car is in decent condition otherwise, practically no rust anywhere on the car, so I'd like to get the work done because I think it deserves to still be on the road.

Also looking for a quote to do the shift cables (I have those) at the same time, as I lowkey just don't want to lol. Main thing is just that bearing as I don't have the tools to do that.

πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Looking For Help Selling Precious Metals/Coins

I am looking to sell a set of silver coins. I am aware of the local coin shop, just hoping to find another collector in the area that we can maybe work a deal with, not interested in taking a 50% haircut at a dealer. Not super interested in selling online due to the volume and trusting folks on payment and arranging shipping. eBay is a very last resort due to fees.
I am not sure where the best place to advertise/connect with interested parties. Can anyone point me in a direction?

Thank you!

"Which side are you on?"

Florence Reece wrote that line in Harlan County, Kentucky in 1931. The miners were trying to organize and the sheriff worked for the coal company. His men came to her house looking for her husband and tore the place apart while her kids watched. After they left she wrote the words down on a calendar hanging in her kitchen. People have been singing it on picket lines ever since.

Forty years later that county was still fighting the same fight, and that is what the critically acclaimed documentary Harlan County U.S.A. is all about. In 1973, the miners at the Brookside mine voted to join the United Mine Workers and Duke Power, which owned the mine, would not sign a contract with them. So the miners went on strike and it lasted thirteen months. Barbara Kopple went down there with a camera and stayed for the whole thing. She filmed the picket lines and the company men and there is a scene where one of them fires a gun at the camera. When the men were put under a court injunction the women took over the picket line and got beaten and arrested for it. A miner named Lawrence Jones was shot in the head and killed, and that is what finally got the company to sign. The film won the Academy Award for best documentary in 1977.

The Sioux Falls Regional Labor Federation is sponsoring two showings at the State Theatre around Labor Day.

  • Saturday September 5 at 1:30
  • Wednesday September 9 at 6:30

The State Theatre is running the new 4K restoration for the film's 50th anniversary and it runs an hour and 43 minutes. Rated PG.

We think it is a fair question to ask ourselves now. There is no shortage of people working to divide us every which way, and what they do not want is us talking about class. They do not want us talking about wages or working conditions or who actually holds the power where we work. It is time we started.

A union is a contract and a voice in your workplace. That is all it is and that is why it matters. If you want to organize one where you work, get ahold of us. If you just want to learn about the labor movement and how to get involved, come to the movie and stay after. We will be there to talk about organizing here in Sioux Falls and about the other ways people organize where they live, like neighborhood associations and tenants unions. You do not have to be in a union to come.

Union members get a dollar off at the box office with a union ID.

Tickets are at https://tinyurl.com/3sr38jhk

Want to get involved with the labor movement in Southeast South Dakota? Visit sfregionallabor.org.

We are also putting on a free Labor Day picnic at Covell Lake Park on Sunday September 13 from 1 to 3pm. Family Friendly and open to all.

🚚 Moving to Sioux Falls Looking for church recommendations

How’s it going. I’ll be moving to Sioux Falls next week from out of state. I’m looking for a non denominational church preferably that has extra groups etc outside of church. I’m 43 m who’s going through a divorce and I’m having to start over completely. Never thought this would happen be here we are. Any info or recommendations is greatly appreciated. Also if someone would like to get coffee or something I could always use friends as I only know one person there and we’re on different paths. Definitely not looking to date, I have a lot of work to do on myself. A lot more to the story but I won’t bore you with all the sappy stuff. Thank you again for any recommendations. Have a great day
