📢 Discussion Empire Strikes Back Isolated Score #01 - Ice Planet Hoth

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The Empire Strikes Back is unique in its score due to how different it is compared to the final cut; some of what was recorded was eventually scrapped, trimmed or rearranged. What Williams initially scored is very expressive and has many flourished to add personality to characters and events. Using the GOUT DVD version as a guide and an isolated score from original trilogy forums, I wanted to see what had changed from scoring sessions to final cut, because when I listened to the soundtrack, there were many cues that I don't remember from the movie. This scene is presented with no dialogue or effects, only the original score.

Track #2 from the 1997 2-Disc CD set "The Empire Strikes Back: Special Edition" is the Main Titles and Ice Planet Hoth. The opening is more energetic and tense, and one of my favorite cut cues is present here: when Han returns to the base on the tauntaun. It's a more militaristic piece of music as we see inside the rebel base. It was later used as the screen select music in the Shadows of the Empire video game.

🎶 Derivative Music 🎶 Brad Fiedel made a beautiful soundtrack. I tried to bring out all the raw emotion in it.

Hey everyone,The ending of T2 is a masterpiece, and Brad Fiedel’s original score is incredibly beautiful.I reimagined "It's Over" (Good-Bye) as a sad orchestral ballad. I wanted to strike a perfect balance between deep sadness, intense emotion, dark romance, epic scale, and raw brutality without losing the original melody.Would love to hear what fellow Terminator fans think of this vibe!

My first stab (oh look, a pun!) with Cubasis 3 and Iconika Sketch on android. I know, much can be done and needs doing but I thought it was a catchy wee tune for a TV opening title, or is it? It's just for my own personal amusement but hopefully you can enjoy it too :-)

🎶 Derivative Music 🎶 OST: Laspe - Piano and Violin cover OUT NOW!!

https://youtu.be/HUwDhysbB5U

I've loved this song ever since I've heard it, and now that I have the skill to compose music, it only made sense to cover this beautiful song.

My goal for this passion project was to purely work on my sound, it's composed in a DAW and is made to sound as realistic as possible, just the PIano is made out of 5 different VSTs to give it a more full, and grander sound!

Will this ever be available in streaming platforms or its better for me to get the CD? As this the kind of scores of Zimmer i love when it had more the kind of musicality i prefer, the pre 2000s ones(except for maybe The Holiday)

Sample(?) starts at 2:15

A blissful piano and clarinet with horns in the background. Sounds like the soundtrack to some mid-century film...

🔍 Help Me Find coyote vs. acme piece not in soundtrack (?)

I just got back from seeing Coyote vs. Acme (lovely movie, go see it!) and there was one part where the musical joke got me real good in the giggle bone. I went back and skimmed through the official soundtrack to see if I could find it, but alas was unsuccessful. Is it buried in one of the tracks but just in the middle and I didn't catch it? Or was it just never added to the album and it's a standalone that may or may not get released? Lmk! (Spoilers below for the scene in question)

It's the scene where ACME is trying to capture the Roadrunner with the giant birdseed and glue trap, and they're playing some kind of rap song but interspersed with the Roadrunner's beeps to censor (presumably the swears).

🎶 Derivative Music 🎶 Test Drive (How To Train Your Dragon) - John Powell: arranged for SATB Choir

Thumbnail

I composed an arrangement of John Powell's epic "Test Drive", from HTTYD 1.
Since the original is instrumentals only, I've also written the lyrics myslef. To fit the viking theme of the movie, I've included lyrics in old Norse, and part of the (English) lyrics are written in a form of ancient scaldic poetry.
If you're interested in singing the arrangement with a choir or ensemble, feel free to contact me.

🎻 Original Music 🎻 would this work?#Monstercat#Theory#

i am 12 years old, and shouldnt be posting this out of nowhere and stuff not knowing if i cause myself to get in trouble, but i had to. do you guys know Monstercat? the department who creates banger music? i just notice this for like 3 years ago now, and i wanted to point out, whenever you listen to Monstercat's old music, Frame of mind, and the modern one, Drifters. you could hear the difference between them, where They are referencing something similar, and that is trying to let go of the past, in a different and separate ways, i know this is late for me, and how the year gap of the music isn't good but hear me out. What im trying to say is that, Drifters and Frame of mind share the same topic, like trying to let go of the past, in a different way:

  1. Frame of mind: Frame of mind features something, about trying to lend a hand for the person in the dark, like enduring the pain of isolation, and loneliness, with no one to help the person out. it may had been release in 2014, but it serves a great purpose if this soundtrack we're to mix with Drifters.

  2. Drifters: Drifters is something different, because Drifters music is slightly more happy and nostalgic, Drifters offers something peaceful, but the subject of the music is similar to Frame of mind. Frame of mind may talk about being isolated, and all alone in their life, but Drifter is the exat opposite, because Drifters sings about trying to break the clouds!, and that clouds is the problem of the person's life, For an Example: A teenager boy is all alone, isolated, and depressed in a lonely life while trying to accept of being alone, then 5 years later, the Teenager is now an adult, and as he entered the adult stage of human life, a girl lending a hand for him comes up, like someone is there to help him out, when he needed it long ago!

The Phrase Of Frame of mind's Lyrics "Right here in my arms, away from all harm, You'll be safe from all the flares, although i know you don't care" it indicates that the person gave up on his purpose on life, before the girl's presence came, and change the perspective of the boy.

it's just a theory of mine, but it is rarely spotted, because monstercat would just then post Songs and didnt think much of the lyrics actually connecting with each other. But the Year gap is actually important for this, because the frame of mind features a teenage boy, that had given up on life, and live like the rest of the people, while not caring for his mental health anymore, then 5 years later, the boy is in the stage of an adult, and where his life finally began to change, when the girl from drifters comes in, and lends him a hand, giving him a supporting hand. i know this is late, because it has been 7 years, ever since Drifters had been posted, and frame of mind being 11 years old now. but i wanted to see if any by chance, monstercat could see this, and bring back the golden era. i know im 12 years old, and doesnt know about this stuff, but i actually do, and i listen to songs like this with my brother and Older brother all the time!, my 1st brother, is 22 - 23 years old now, and my brother is 17 - 18. i hope you guys can understand, and bye!
