Coach needed for rec soccer league

Like the title says, we need a coach for a team in FBASA'a 11 aside men's league.

We have a mixture of experienced players, and beginners.

We practice Thursdays and match days are Sundays.

DM me for info and we can discuss potential compensation.

Thanks!

Sundays at the H-E-B on University and 6. What is your strategy to tackle the crowds? Man it’s like a circus over there. Best time to go?

Excellent police work from the Sugar Land PD. Outstanding city services Sugar Land has. They had extra license plates on the floor board.

Train wreck

Just watched a train takeout a semi carrying a big piece of machinery on 90 right across from Starbucks in SL. I’m not from Texas so seeing trains daily is new to me. How often does something like this happen? Just out of curiosity.

Please look into washington county, TX

So long story short i have been watching the housing supply for awhile in my local community, 30 minutes south of Texas A&M, 2 hours from austin, and 1.5 hours from Houston. This small area is called Washington county, TX and it has become a haven for the rich while the actual residents struggle to survive. For every 10 new homes built here there is only one job created

I feel it may be a sign of a bubble from a few angles.

Reason 1: everyone bought high during covid and subdivided land into "Luxury Ranchettes", now everything is "Luxury housing". Needless to say the buying was all based on speculation.

Reason 2: outrageous prices, with MANY listings. The pricing in insane. I had a realtor try to sell me less than 1 acre in a floodplain right off of a 70 MPH road, with a 800 sqft house and zero trees for 458k. Needless to say the value seems a bit inflated and no one is offering comp examples, it seems like a money grab. I think that the fact that within 5 square miles of my home there are 80+ listings this may be a bubble and a great example pf the absurdity of the texas real estate market.

So reddit do your thing, the location is Washington, TX, Brenham, TX and in general Washington county.

Do you think its a bubble?

Did Ben Berg chicken out?

Buttermilk Baby was announced to open in sugar land over 2 years ago.. the last info I can find about it is from Jan '25, stating it would be open by the end of last year.

BB italia was terrible last time I went there in April. Could have been a fluke, but the lasagna which was once pretty good was a burnt hockey puck. Didn't feel as premium as the prices are. I've never been impressed with his concepts, and that one has to be the worst. Cool decor and overall interior, but dude the food is better at Olive garden.

Anyway fan or not, does anyone know if he scrapped plans for the burger/ice cream concept? Lord knows this town can use better options for dining out, and that one seemed to be a family friendly no-brainer.

UH nursing?

As someone about to finish up my nursing apps and considering UH, can anyone tell me about what their experience is/was?

I have heard that it is a toxic or non-student-centered environment despite the NCLEX pass rates. But I have also heard that they are working on improving certain aspects of the curriculum(?) I know they received the $750,000 investment, but I would think it is probably a while before we start seeing it put to full use.

So... I just wanna hear from others what they are thinking as well as get some insight from nursing students. I am heavily considering UThealth as well but am wary of the accelerated aspect of it. Thanks!!

Anyone know the scoop as to why several of their pilates instructors (including the OGs🥲😩😭) abruptly quit at the same time recently? Ruby, Nia, Jesse, Bailey…. ugh. Actually very upset about this and want to even cancel my membership at this point.

Don't know if this post goes here, but here goes. This morning my husband and I were at a Denny's. A young man, mid 20s?, walked in with a very young, 12-14, girl. She was dressed rathet provocatively for her age. The girl was leading the conversation, "I know this isn't your kind of music, what do

Houston's Flock Cameras Are Tracking Us—Without Our Say

Thumbnail

Your movements are being logged. License plates, faces, even which parks your kids go to—all captured and searchable by police with almost no oversight.

In Houston, Flock cameras are everywhere now. The Houston Chronicle found nearly 470,000 searches with vague reasons like "investigation." Worse? We've already seen abuse: a Fort Bend deputy searched one plate 148 times for personal reasons. A Pasadena sergeant used it to stalk a coworker. That's not hypothetical—that's happening here.

I started a petition asking Houston City Council to reject Flock and demand real transparency: public hearings before deployment, independent audits, limits on how long data's kept, and actual accountability reports. No more sneaking this through budget meetings.

Anyone else disturbed by cameras at park entrances logging which kids show up when? Or uncomfortable knowing your commute is a permanent record? What would you want someone to do if this was your family's privacy on the line? If this matters to you, consider signing and sharing.

someone with Facebook send this over to the applicable PDs, not sure what the young lady in the Mercedes SUV was trying to do after the fact. hopefully she is ticketed for failure to maintain or something more substantial than just being responsible for an accident.

Making Way for Tesla

Post image
21 Upvotes

Fort Bend County Commissioners Court voted Monday morning to create Reinvestment Zone 34, a major step toward landing Tesla's proposed $10.1 billion solar cell factory.

The zone covers about 3,057 acres near FM 762 and FM 1994. Tesla's filing projects nearly 10,000 permanent jobs if the project moves forward, though the company is still weighing an out-of-state site.

Interim County Judge Daniel Wong abstained from the vote, citing his company's past business ties to Tesla. All four commissioners voted yes. The meeting grew tense as Wong and Commissioner Dexter McCoy clashed over Wong's abstention and his authority as interim judge.

Full story at Fort Bend Falcon. Find the link in the comments.

Anything for Halloween?

I’ll be visiting the Sugar Land area around Halloween and was wondering if there are any fun events or activities usually happening nearby. I’m open to going downtown if needed, but I wanted to see what Sugar Land has to offer first.

Please make your voice as hard as the Sugar Land children’s museum is now going to have new hours on September 9. They’re gonna start closing the museum on Sundays and they’ll start closing the museum early at 3 PM. That’s not good for those who have little children.
