I had some health issues and I am living in my living room since all the bedrooms and baths are upstairs. My house is concrete and over 50 years old. I've thought about adding an elevator to get upstairs, but the upstairs would still need a lot of "accessibility fixes", which are not practical.

The only solution we have come up with is to turn the maid's room into a bathroom, and the laundry room into a closet, and building just a bedroom in my back yard. I'm looking for a little help drawing these plans to scale so that I can send them off to several people to se what ideas they come up with, specially in groups that can help me out with accessibility and disability tips for this.

I downloaded this software and it seems kind of intuitive, but every time I try to add another wall everything breaks, specially since my house is not on a square lot.

If anyone could help me draw this section of the house to scale so that I can send it out for reference, I would be truly thankful.

I uploaded 2 images. The one that has the measurements is the house as it is now, the one without is my idea of what this could look like.

For some weird reason, when I tried to open a file, the UI spun around, and now it's like this. Restarting didn't fix anything, nor did taking the sliders to the borders, or even moving the 3D view or toolbar to other widows. Oh well, thanks to being on Linux, reinstalling the software takes 15 seconds...

Is there any library with gym equipment?

Not sure how to make something like this platform above desk. Not a new floor in the plan, but multiple stacked levels in one floor. Thanks.

UPDATE: Never mind, I just learnt on the forum that SweetHome3D is abandonware on Linux. I thought the app was open source, but on Linux there are missing features, and bugs evidently. The UI is old. The furniture is missing. The location and times are missing from photos and videos so you can't track the sun.

does anyone know if there´s a library or usable models for event/fair furniture?
I quite often use SH3D for creating event booths ...

I'm not sure if it's just me having this one, but since the last update I'm increasingly unable to accept modifications to furniture models. (MacOS).

It's worse when selecting multiple models and trying to do the modify, but it fails even with just one selected.

You used to be able to select eg multiple boxes, and change the width or height of them all at once. I'm trying to do this with roads, but when you click ok, literally nothing happens. Even trying to modify a single model does the same. Sometimes deleting the model and retrying works, but sometimes you have to ensure you make all the changes at once because you can't do subsequent changes, and sometimes even a delete and retry doesn't work.

You also can't press 'Esc' anymore to exit from the modification popup.

Also, yesterday I had an issue where a downloaded and imported set of furniture needed an internet connection, placing the item on the plan showed it correctly in the 3D view, but the build couldn't be saved. No one should need an internet connection to use an installed extension to a locally installed piece of software that shouldn't need an internet connection itself, especially if you've paid for it.

If these are just bugs caused by the update, then these are really really sloppy. If it's because of the move to the subscription model then that's worse.

It happens on both newer and older version of the software. i did a complete reinstall. i reinstalled drivers. reinstalled everything but windows.

I have to adjust the height of some lamps it it won't allow me, it keeps popping up and ask me to start free trail in order to use the pro version. However I only want to adjust height of existing drawing, not sure why it suddenly not free anymore?

It's hard to see the floor plan on dark mode because of how dark the gridlines are

Some days ago i found out that Sweet Home 3D became all premium , infact nowdays you can't even import you own 3d models. I found out a free old version of Sweet Home 3D on sourgeforge https://sourceforge.net/projects/sweethome3d/ , for safety , i went to scan the file on virus total and it said that there weren't any viruses . Just to be sure i asked on the subreddit r/computerviruses if it was safe ( https://www.reddit.com/r/computerviruses/comments/1rgdhvl/is_this_file_safe_found_it_on_reddit/ ) , and they said yes. Today i Went to VirusTotal to scan another time the file and it said that it had a Cryptor Malware. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/bfc91a3cfe2bfbeecbbbbcf32e1e85d75bf2a9d32fe36e5d621bdf40cb801e5c . I scaned the file with my ant-virus (Malwarebytes) and it said it was safe. I Unistalled Sweet Home 3D for safety. It is safe? I really need Sweet Home 3D

This is an issue where I should be providing the recommendation instead of asking for it.

I installed sweethome3d under Arch Linux.

Initially I found an issue where the 3d View doesn't refresh. I can see the "viewer" panning but the image remains static.

On my desktop I remember resolving it by installing a particular jre version and adding something to the $_JAVA_OPTIONS Unfortunately, I just realized that my .xprofile, where I set my java options is the only file I didn't synchronize with my git repository.

I am traveling and don't have access to my desktop.

Have you had to resolve this issue and how?

My current java options are as follow:

When I installed I chose to install

 jre-openjdk

in 2022, I purchased a full license of Sweet Home 3D through the Microsoft Store. At the time of purchase, it was a one-time payment for lifetime access.

I have recently installed the software on a new computer. However, when I try to activate/restore my purchase, I receive the following error message: "Aucun achat à restaurer" (No purchase to restore).

It appears that the application is now prompting for a "SH3D Pro" subscription, but as a previous customer, I should still have access to the features I paid for under my original license.

Could you please assist me in restoring my access or provide me with a way to activate the version I own on my new workstation? I'm a bit lost and not sure who to contact. Publisher from 2022 is not the same as today

Hello everyone, considering that SweetHome can't directly import AutoCAD floor plans, what's the most accurate way to convert from CAD to SweetHome? I don't want to have to trace the drawing, as it's not very precise.

Hi guys, I have been working with this program for quite some time but im struggling to find some really good and modern looking textures - for ex. in modern apartments, the bathrooms have very big tiles. Where do you like to get textures that match the curent mainstream aesthetic?

Is there a way to have different wall textures on the same wall? I'd like to have a dominant texture, but add a horizontal stripe of tile midway between the floor and ceiling. Is this possible to do? I see no appropriate settings that I can adjust in the wall settings. I'd think I could stack a wall on top of another wall, but I see no way to do that. Any advice would be appreciated.

My 3D rendering of sweethome is a black screen, I don't know why, if someone can explain.

Is there any way to force the background grid to use increments of 5' for the major lines and 1' for the minor lines?

I rely on the grid lines for aligning objects, and then I zoom in for fine-tuning that alignment. So first, the 3' or 6' increments of the major grid lines seem a little illogical, but even more so, the fact that the grid lines increments change when you zoom in is frustrating when you're relying on them for alignment. Having an unchanging grid pattern of an easy-to-calculate 5' major and 1' minor would be so helpful.

Just a guess, but is the reason why it defaults to increments of 3' for the major lines because it was created originally with meters in mind, and 3' is the closest round imperial measurement to meters?

I am a novice SweetHome 3D user who is trying to rough out a kitchen remodel. I went to the Thermador appliances website and downloaded the models for each of the appliances we're interested in. For each they supply a 3d and 2d .rfa file and a .dwg file.

I've read that to import into SH3D, I must convert the files to .obj files. The advice on how to do that is to download the trial version of Revit and export the files as .obj from there. I went to do that and Revit is only available on Windows. I'm on a Mac.

How can a Mac user get these files converted without paying for expensive software?

Hi, new to this forum. I started by trying to make a mirror with a backlight. So, I exported it to OBJ and imported it in Blender. I expected everything to be as simple as split, then assign a new material, make it Emission, then perhaps Join, export and back to SweetHome3D. Nope. Doesn’t work. Without a Join… nope. I tried different ways, don’t remember everything, I even exported and opened a lamp (from sh3d) to see if anything was different. I don’t get what does SweetHome3D look for to make an object be a light source too. Any ideas?

Am i a crazy person for wanting to build this.

24x22 main with a 2x10' overhang. tower 10x10'

Saltbox style roof. 4/12 pitch on the small section 8/12 on the big section.

I made some make-shift slanted roofs for the last floor of my building. (by thinning the cube item and the triangle item and doing elevations and angle tilts)

but I can't figure out this last part of the roof, which as you see, has been left empty.

it requires inserting a right angle triangle (which i do have in the objects and has been used in another part of the roof in this picture. (flat part)

My problem is that, in order for the thin right angle triangle to cover the empty section, i need to be able to tilt it around BOTH the x axis AND the y axis. But SH3D only seemingly lets me tilt it around one of these axes. :(

Could you help me finish this section? I love to be able to finish the house i have built. Thanks <3

I'm using best quality, high resolution but getting a resampled low quality render, how can I improve it?

So I downloaded sweet home 3D and started using the free version on my iPad and then switched to my computer for better control. But after a few seconds of the program being open and putting a wall up when I moved the cursor to select another tool it started bugging out and moving the grid (or whatever my mouse was over at the time) with it like the old windows do glitch where a window would copy itself repeatedly and basically let you cover a window wirh it. Can anyone help me fix this?
