Discussion Impossible Creatures: Scrapped Creatures
For those unfamiliar with the game: *Impossible Creatures* is a real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment in conjunction with Microsoft Game Studios. Its defining feature is that all units are created by the player by combining parts of two animals—with the exception of Henchmen. When animals are combined, the resulting units inherit abilities from the original creatures, allowing players to create specific units for specific purposes. There are 51 different animals available for combinations, plus an additional 25 available for free download from the official website, bringing the total to 76 different animals.
What I want to know is whether these—specifically the animals cut from the game—actually count. The only information I’ve found is on the game's Wiki and in a Steam Workshop post; according to a user named the2ndSign who commented on that post, it is possible to find some old models by examining the *Impossible Creatures* demo files. Unfortunately, they are quite incomplete and not in a suitable state for use in the final base game, meaning it’s impossible to create mods using these discarded creatures.
As far as I know, this is the list of animals cut from the game:
Water Buffalo.
Dachshund.
Leopard Seal.
Octopus.
Penguin.
Rabbit.
Temporary Stage Beetle.
I’m still unsure if these count, though. Also, if it’s true that the models are in the demo version, could someone please create an *Impossible Creatures* page on the site and mention these discarded, unused models? It would be interesting to see more unused content from the game, as I’m still curious about exactly what was left out.
