In several TMBG songs there is a running theme of heads, spines, headlessness, skulls, etc. Does anybody have any insight on this?
Have they ever been asked about this in an interview or anything like that?

Homages and Influences
Last night, my husband and I were talking about music and he had a random song stuck in his head that he didn't know the name of. He sang some of the music notes and I said, "it sounds like it could be 'Me and Julio Down By The School Yard' by Paul Simon" and before we can figure out what song my husband was thinking of, I realized that "Me and Julio" kinda sounds like "Character Flaw". Not only was I right, but it seems that Flansy is a fan of Paul Simon. I think that's pretty cool.
Tear your playhouse down…
I always wondered what he was on about with that line. Only now do I realize it’s playhouse as in a house kids play in, not playhouse as in a theater.

Concert Age Policy
I’ve tried contacting the music venue about this topic a few times but haven’t gotten a response yet, so I guess i’m asking it here. I’m 14 (going to turn 15 in a few months), and as a treat for my birthday I wanna go see their concert at the Emos Austin venue. The issue is that the concert is rated 16+, and I am, well, 14. I wanted to know if I buy a ticket alongside one for one of my parent, will I still be able to enter? On the ticket master website, it doesn’t state anything about “no exceptions” or anything of the sorts, so the idea is to have my parent accompany me the entire duration of the event. I have a theory that the age policy is for unaccompanied people that are below the minimum age requirement, but I could always be wrong. Let me know!

apologies for the meme format, but in tribute to my one uncle who once said There Must Be Giants and I couldn't tell whether it was on purpose or not.

Looking for a music video
Dont remember the name of the song, and have a feeling the music video has been taken down because I’ve looked everywhere, but I remember seeing a music video by they might be giants where there’s an animated blue guy singing the lyrics over real footage. He’s running around a town, and all I remember lyrics wise is that he was frustrated about something or another. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

does anyone know what guitar was used in “the famous polka,” and how i’d achieve the tone
i plan to delete this right after because it’s a pretty stupid post, but i’m too stupid to get any answers doing my research. it says on tmbw that the guitar used between 1985 and 1988 was a fernandes “the revival” strat, but then i can’t find if any specific amp or something was used as well. i’m pretty new to guitar and all, and i pretty much would just love to achieve the tone in that song. thanks

This is the most 2026 post you will see.
I am wearing my They Might Be Giants shirt and I posted this picture where you can only see the "THEY". Someone asked if that "They" was my pronoun. My answer "Nope, just the best band ever!"

People don’t like S-E-X-X-Y?
I recently listened to the severe tire damage version of S-E-X-X-Y, but I read the comments and they were fairly negative about the song. Later I looked at the comments for the factory showroom version, and it had similar comments.
So do most people not like the song? I still love it.

TMBG Fantasy Football team names.
I'm playing fantasy football this year and as an Eagles and TMBG I named my team "The Birds Are To Dig" any other TMBG themes fantasy names y'all can think of. (bonus points if they're Eagles themed.

Nanobots shirt (ignore the letters at the bottom, I didn’t finish scraping off the original design)

If you know these two and why they are looking so apprehensive.....you are old

Audio transcript for 1986 interview for “Things People Carry”
The transcript is on TMBW but I don’t think I’ve ever heard an audio transcript of this.
They were just so annoying back then, love them.
