What a surprise this morning! Saw this guy coming out of my wild flowers garden and I've never seen anything quite that big. Apparently it's a Polyphemus moth larva.

Its head looks like a chickpea with teeth 😂 and its legs were like velcro! I dropped it in the forest, so it wouldn't be squashed by humans walking on the lawn or picked up by a bird

Just a little guy.

It hitchhiked on pants so got a close up on thumb.

Hopefully he doesn't mind that he's now miles home from where he potentially got on, we found him hanging onto the rearview mirror in a family members car

my best guess is a spit bug, but I don’t know for sure. he was cute and so green!

update: my new best guess is a katydid nymph
