‎ ‎ Relationship Advice Met this girl on Hinge and completely lost faith in marriage, at least in metro cities.

2.2k Upvotes

I’m still trying to process what happened last week, and I just need to get this off my chest because I haven't stopped overthinking it. I’m a 26M, and I matched with this woman on Hinge this weekend who was in her early thirties. Her bio literally said "single... looking for a long-term relationship.".. She looked younger than her age, so I swiped, we matched, and we ended up going on a horror movie date. The chemistry was good...throughout the movie, we had our hands all over each other and spent the entire second half making out in the theater. After it ended, we went to a cafe for dinner, and the vibe was still there. She straight-up asked me if I had plans for the rest of the night. I told her I had a friend staying over at my place so we couldn't go there, but asked if we could head back to her place instead. What she said next completely paralyzed me. She just casually smiled and said, "My mother-in-law wouldn't allow it."

I literally froze and made her repeat herself, thinking it was some kind of joke...it wasn't. She calmly explained that she’s been married for just eight months...Her husband is in the merchant navy, he’s gone for months at a time, and she just gets bored alone. Apparently, going on dating apps and meeting new people is one of her favorite hobbies. I asked her how she could do that to her husband, and she just brushed it off like it was normal. She told me all her friends do this even after getting married..claiming one of her friends hooks up with randoms every week and stays in touch with all her exes while her husband works in the Middle East. I asked if she felt any guilt about this... and she just said that whenever her husband is back home, she ignores everyone else and is only with him. Sitting across from her, I was genuinely taken aback and disturbed by the whole mindset... My parents have been pressuring me to get married lately, but this whole incident has made me genuinely terrified of the entire concept of marriage. I'm completely over trying to find a partner in a metro city. I honestly feel like if I ever want a genuine marriage, I’m going to have to find someone from a small town where the concept of commitment actually still exists...at least that's what I believe.

We had a small argument and I was overthinking stuff, and then she sent me all of this 😭

The “never give me space unless I specifically ask for it” and “never let each other sleep in a bad mood” absolutely got me 😭😭

Like bro HOW am I supposed to stay mad after reading this??

Isn’t she a keeper? 😭 I love this woman so fucking much.

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice Found out my Girlfriend of 6 years cheating on me

Post image
2.6k Upvotes

typing from ofc pls Ignore if any typo issues. will update it.

we met in college and have been together for 6 years. i thought we were fine. then today one of her school mate Dm'd me on insta with a bunch of screenshots. My gf sexting guys she met on hinge and bumble.

apparently she’s been doing this for a while and was even telling her friend about it bragging like some achievement. I guess my girlfriend and her friend got into some beef else I don't know why all of a sudden she would share me all these things.

Honestly, I feel like a joker. i don’t even want to fight. i don’t have the energy to confront her. it's just deep down i wanna know where it all started falling apart on paper everything looked good for us.

I can't even tell this to my friends nor Parents everyone knows her very. I feel ashamed with deep thoughts stuck in my mind.

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice I talked to my ex for 5 hours after 6 months, and I don't know what to make of it

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

Today, from around 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., I had a voice call with my ex for the first time in six months since we broke up.

During the first week after the breakup, I used to call her constantly. I was in a very emotional phase and, honestly, I was probably a crybaby. I cried a lot, wanted her to come back, and desperately wanted her to be there for me.

For some reason, though, whether it was intentional or simply what she thought was best for both of us, she was extremely cold during that period. I was expecting some amount of care or emotion from her, but I got the complete opposite. She would sometimes cut calls in the middle of a conversation. We'd barely talk for five seconds and she'd hang up. The next time I'd call, she'd say things like, "Don't disturb me, I have work to do," or "I'm not responsible for you."

At the same time, my academics were falling apart. My CGPA went from 9.8 in my first year to 7.62 by the end of my second year, and I even got a back in one subject. When I was with her, I barely studied.

Things have changed quite a bit since then. For the past four months or so, I've actually started studying seriously. In coding assessments and competitions, I've been consistently ranking somewhere around the top 350 to 400, whether it's LeetCode competitions or DSA competitions at my college. My branch alone has around 4,800 to 5,200 students, so I'm doing considerably better academically than I was back then.

Anyway, today I saw the videos about the floods in Nepal. She's from Nepal, and I genuinely felt like it would be inhuman not to at least ask if she and her family were okay.

So I texted her.

She had blocked me previously, so I wasn't even expecting the message to go through. Surprisingly, she saw it. I was expecting something like, "Why?" or maybe no response at all.

Instead, she just said, "Okay," and then called me.

She actually video called me.

I asked about her family, her health, and how everyone was doing. Once I was sure that everything was fine and that she was doing well, I told her, "That's all I wanted to ask," and I was about to end the call.

Then, surprisingly, she asked, "That's all you want to talk about?"

It sounded like she was expecting me to say something else.

I said yes, and then she started telling me about the past five months. She said it had been really difficult for her. At one point, she called me an "umbrella" for her and said she hadn't realised how difficult it would be for her without my protection. I don't remember the exact wording, but that's essentially what she said.

Then she started talking more about her family, and eventually she asked me how I was doing.

She also told me that she had seen my ranking. The Excel sheet is publicly available in our college groups, so she somehow searched for my name and found that I'm ranked under 500. She said she was really happy for me and genuinely wished me well(ig).

And then she said something that really confused me.

She told me she was planning to wear something nice today and that she will send me a video of her outfit because I had called, and that it is a special day.

This is where I'm completely lost.

I've seen the side of her that was extremely cold toward me. I've experienced the calls being cut off, the lack of emotion, and being told not to disturb her. That period was genuinely painful for me.

Now, six months later, I'm suddenly seeing a completely different side of her.

I don't know which one is real.

Maybe both are real. Maybe people behave differently after they've had time to process a breakup. Maybe she genuinely missed me. Maybe she was simply happy to hear from me. Maybe she wanted attention. I honestly don't know.

And that's what bothers me. I can't figure out what she actually wants from this.

I don't see any obvious benefit for her in behaving this way, either. She was the one who initially pushed me away, and now she's the one saying these things and treating the call like it's some special occasion.

I'm not trying to interpret every sentence as some hidden message. I genuinely just don't understand what happened tonight.

For six months, I had basically accepted that she was gone from my life.

I don't know if there's something more behind it. Right now, I'm just confused.

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice I tried to prank my boyfriend and now I think I messed up

1.1k Upvotes

So I thought I’d do a harmless April Fool’s prank on my boyfriend today… and yeah, it did NOT go how I expected.

I texted him in the morning acting a bit distant. Like dry replies, late responses, the whole “something is off” vibe. After a while he asked, “Are you okay?” And I said, “Yeah just thinking about some things.” He immediately got serious.

Then I escalated it (this is where I think I messed up). I told him, “I don’t think this is working anymore.” I expected him to get confused, maybe a little annoyed, and then I’d reveal it’s a prank. But instead he just replied, “Okay.” No questions. No arguments. Just okay and that honestly caught me off guard.

So I tried to push it a bit more and said, “You’re not even going to ask why?” And he said, “If you’ve decided, I won’t force you to stay.” and my stomach literally dropped. I was like wtf, I didn’t expect him to take it THIS seriously or accept it so easily. Iwas like is he actually okay with this?? So I panicked and immediately called him and told him it was an April Fool’s prank and then he said, “That wasn’t funny.”

Now things are okayish, but the vibe feels weird and I lowkey feel like I unlocked some hidden insecurity or something.

Like why did he give up that easily?? Or did I just cross a line? I honestly don’t know if I should laugh at this or feel guilty. Was this too far for a prank or am I overthinking it?

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice I think I just lost my 10-year relationship and my mind is turning against me

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been with my girlfriend for almost 10 years. We talked every single day. There hasn’t been a single day in years where we didn’t call each other, especially at night. She was my best friend. My safe place. A few months ago she was completely normal. She would wrestle me so I wouldn’t leave early. She used to call me late at night just to ask how my day went. She once told me that after her father, I’m the one she trusts the most. And now she’s saying it’s over. She told me I didn’t “show up” enough. And maybe physically I didn’t. But my home life has been a war zone. My parents fight constantly. My father has self-harmed before and I’ve literally had to stop him from ki*ling himself. I’ve been carrying that for years. I was trying to keep my family from collapsing. I told her everything. She said it’s too late. Last night she called me drunk at 3:30am and said “It’s over. You need to accept that.” Then in the morning she texted the same thing again sober. I feel numb now. I cried for days and now I don’t even feel the tears anymore. My body feels empty. I can’t eat. I can’t focus. I haven’t studied. I’m pretending to my mom that everything is fine. I don’t understand how someone can go from “stay over at my flat” a month ago to “it’s over” now. I know people will say “move on.” But 10 years isn’t something you just delete. It feels like I lost my home. My routine. My identity. I’m not here to blame her. I just genuinely don’t understand how this flipped so fast. I feel like life punished me when I was already fighting battles at home. Has anyone gone through something like this? How do you survive the first days when your mind keeps telling you everything is over and there’s no future? Right now my thoughts feel louder than me and I’m honestly scared of where my head is going. I just need perspective from people who’ve survived something like this.

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice I feel like I disappeared the moment my boyfriend achieved his dream.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years. We met during undergrad, and both of us were pretty unserious about life back then. Over these years, we grew a lot together. We pushed each other to become disciplined, career-focused, and more mature. I genuinely believe we changed each other for the better.

Last year, he decided to prepare for CAT instead of sitting for campus placements. It was an incredibly difficult decision because he had always considered himself a below-average student and constantly doubted himself. His parents weren’t supportive either, they wanted him to take a placement instead and didn’t believe this was the right choice.

I was the one telling him not to give up. I kept reminding him that I believed in him, even when he didn’t believe in himself. During that entire year, I stood by him through everything. After the exams he slipped into depression, I stayed. I prayed for him every single day, visited temples, even kept the nine-day Navratri fast wishing for his success. I paid for his interview fees, stationaries and other small expenses, not because I wanted anything in return, but because I genuinely saw this dream as our dream. His success felt like my success.

Fast forward to today, he converted an IIM and joined about 10 days ago. I couldn’t have been happier for him.

But that’s where my hurt begins.

Since getting in, he’s changed completely. He didn’t even meet me before leaving for college. We barely spoke after he joined. He updated all his social media with pictures from his new life, posted with his parents, celebrated the journey everywhere, and recently wrote a long LinkedIn post talking about how he went from being a below-average student to getting into an IIM.
He thanked his parents, mentors, and everyone who supported him.

I wasn’t there. Not even indirectly.

To be clear, this is not about wanting a public mention on LinkedIn or Instagram. I honestly couldn’t care less about that. What hurts is that he never even privately acknowledged what I meant in that journey. Not a message saying, “I couldn’t have done this without you believing in me.” Not a conversation where he made me feel like I mattered.

Instead, I felt invisible.

The person who knew every breakdown, every self-doubt, every fear… somehow became nonexistent once he reached the destination.

I felt like I had imagined my importance in his life all along.

I ended up breaking up with him and blocking him because I couldn’t take the hurt anymore.

Maybe I was never as important in his story as he was in mine.

Am I overreacting, or would you also feel hurt in this situation?

TL;DR: I stood by my boyfriend through his entire CAT journey when no one, including himself, believed he could do it. I supported him emotionally, financially, and spiritually because I saw his dream as our dream. After he got into an IIM, I felt completely erased from his life—no appreciation, no acknowledgment, not even privately. It made me realize maybe I was never as important in his story as he was in mine.

Edit: I just want to clarify that he never used me financially. He was financially stable and could’ve easily paid for everything himself. He just had this belief that whenever he invested his own money into something, it wouldn’t work out, so I covered the smaller expenses instead. I genuinely don’t care about the money, though. What hurts is that the emotional and spiritual support I gave, and everything I poured into his journey, was never acknowledged.

I have seen so many relationship related posts and feel very happy for those people . I also want something like that. Have had just one gf till now ( that too online). Many situationships but to no avail. Looking for something long term. Not into casual or hookup scene. Been a nerd all my life and find it difficult to connect with people. Suffered from OCD, anxiety and depression in the past. Better now. Find it a bit difficult to interact with people of opposite gender.

Serious applicants may apply

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice I (M20) got my crush (F19) an internship, paid her flights & food. Now she’s constantly texting her ex-situationship.

Hey everyone, looking for some honest perspective on my current situation because I don't want to look like a loser here.

There’s this girl I’ve liked for a while. She studies in Jaipur but her parents live in our hometown. She came back for a month and wanted to find a summer internship, so because I have feelings for her, I pulled some strings and got her an internship at my company.

Since she’s been back, we’ve been spending a ton of time together. I drive her to and from the office daily, we listen to music, share deep eye contact, and just have overall romantic tension. I’ve gone completely out of my way for her—I don't smoke at all and hate it, but I let her smoke in front of me. I bought her a ChatGPT Plus subscription to help her with her social media marketing tasks at work.

On top of that, I literally paid for her flights to come back here (Jaipur to Mumbai, and Mumbai to Pune). I also pay for all of our food every single day without asking a single question.

But lately, I noticed she is constantly on her phone texting this one guy, K. K is her ex-situationship. When I casually brought up why she’s always texting him, she claimed she only talks to two guys (me and him) and that she only texts K for "help with social media management" since that's what her internship is in.

I told her it made me feel a bit insecure/jealous since they have history. Her immediate response was: "Listen, I'm only here for one month. I don't want friends with benefits, or a relationship right now." The thing is, I never even asked her for FWB or a relationship, we were just naturally vibing.

I feel like she is completely using me for financial and professional gain while keeping her ex-situationship on the hook. If she didn't want anything, why is she letting me pay for her flights, food, and getting her a job?

What do I do here? Do I completely cut off the rides and the free food, or how do I handle this without looking like a fool?

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice Update: Found out my girlfriend of 6 years was cheating on me… it got worse

Post image
865 Upvotes

For New Readers previous post link - https://www.reddit.com/r/TwentiesIndia/s/e7wxhFZ4J4

First of all thanks to everyone who commented and texted me after my last post. I didn’t reply to all but I read a lot of them. Helped more than I expected honestly.

So yeah… update after like 12 days.(Its very long please adjust)

I took a week off thinking I’ll clear my head, but I ended up digging more and it just turned into a complete mess. What I found earlier wasn’t even everything.

It wasn’t just sexting. She was actually sleeping with around 6–7 guys while being with me(physically) no ones gonna judge her she can be with anyone. She did all this while being in a commitment relationship with me. I had check my Instamart order to see when was the last time we were intimate it was Feb 2026.

I spoke to the friend who sent me the screenshots. Apparently this wasn’t something new, it had been going on for a while. Funny thing most of those guys didn’t even respect her, they just called her whenever they wanted (she was more like a slut her friend old plus i read those messages she sent Nudes everything its disgusting)

I got a full STD test done Thankfully it came negative.

This whole week has been really bad mentally. No proper sleep, just sitting and overthinking. Same thoughts again and again.

I still haven’t confronted her. I don’t even feel like doing it. Her friend suggested even if you confront she'll say I made her do those and she won't give closure nor accept her mistake

Only thing stuck in my head is — why stay with me? If she wanted all this, she could’ve just left. Why keep me in it for 6 years?

Her friend told me she probably wanted to enjoy everything and still keep me as a backup for Marriage.

Another funny Thing She didn't even bother to call and check me in the past 12 days all these years i was fool calling her everyday till she reaches office and comes back (Effort was just one sided)

Only thing is since this was my first love there this thing attached in my head no matter whom i love next i will have this constant fear and insecurity what if this person cheats as well

After seeing the screenshots and everything i feel pity for like she was basically a Street dog.. Sigh

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice Got proposed by my male bestie , confused what to do

I got proposed by my male bestie , we have been together since past 10 years , did schooling together and went to same college . I don't wana loose my friend of years . He has always been so caring , so gentle and charming , but I can't see him as anything else .

Shall I go forward and accept , because he is genuinely a good person , I like his qualities , his thoughts matches mine , everything you would expect from your partner . I am confused because , I don't have any reason to not accept him , it's just that we have been friends for so long that there's this "friend" image in my mind , all these years being partner never occured to me . I admired his qualities but only as a friend , like how you would do with your female besties .

I asked my female friend about this and she told me to go ahead with him as he is nice guy , she told me in a relationship only sexual attraction doesn't matter , give it a chance , your mind have gone into place where it feels illegal to be with your friend and with time it will accept that you can date him and he is not just friend .

He is fine with me not having sexual attraction to him for now . I am so confused , whether denying a relationship based on mere sexual attraction is fine or should I wait and give us a chance ?

Tldr- got proposed my male bff , been together for 10 years , childhood friends . He have every qualities for being a great partner but I don't have sexual attraction for him , so shall I give ourself a chance or deny it on the grounds of not having attraction .
