Accommodation How to connect with people in my accomodation?

Upvotes

When I was sorting out my accomodation the uni mentioned an app called goin' at the end of one of their emails. I tried to sort it out but It said I need to be emailed by the uni to set it up. Is there any other way to get to know people from my accomodation before I move in?

Advice Best Bus Pass for Bristol?

Hey everyone! I'm an American international student who will soon be studying at the University of Bristol. I was wondering if getting around on the bus requires the purchase of one standard student bus pass, or if I'll be paying per-trip. I was also wondering if there's a best/most reliable bus company, in the city, as I know that both First Bus and WEST have wide service in Bristol. Thank you!

Accommodation 🏡 Replacement Tenant Needed – 1 Bedroom in a 4-Bed Student Flat (University of Bristol)

Flat 1, 39 Park Street, Bristol
I am offering £500 towards the first month of rent.
£235 per week (Bills Included)
Tenancy starts: 9 September 2026
Deposit already paid
Monthly cleaner included

I’m looking for someone to take over my tenancy for the 2026/27 academic year, as I will no longer be studying at the University of Bristol.

The flat includes:

Double bedroom
Desk and wardrobe
Smart TV in each room
Shared bathroom
Bills included in the rent
Monthly cleaner

You’ll be living with 3 other female students, so this room would ideally suit another female student.

Great location right on Park Street, around a 10 minute walk to the University on Queens road and around a 5 minute walk to Wills Memorial, with cafés, shops, pubs and restaurants super close by.
UK Guarantor Required.

If you’re interested or have any questions, please send me a message!

Hello, I am a French 17yo student and my dream is to go study at Bristol uni in a civil engineering course or any civil or engineering related course. But I come from a large family with really low income and the tuition fees are really expensive . So I was wondering if there’s any way I can still go with grant for example. Thanks for your answer and sorry for my English

Advice New Student Online Registration – Passport Has No Surname

Hi everyone, I’m an incoming international student joining this September.

My passport has no surname/family name—my full legal name appears under the given/first name field, with the surname blank.

However, the online registration system requires a surname, so I can’t complete registration.

Has anyone faced this at Bristol? What did you enter?

Would really appreciate help. Thanks!

Advice University of Bristol registration issue – surname starts with “Ö”

I’m an international student starting Law at the University of Bristol this September, and I’m having an issue with the online registration.

My surname starts with “Ö”, and I’m wondering if this could be causing the problem.

When I try to register, I get this message:

The registration asks for:

  • Family Name/Surname
  • Date of birth
  • Student number
  • UCAS Personal ID

I’ve checked all of my details multiple times and they are correct. I’ve also tried different browsers/devices, but I still get the same error.

I’m wondering if the system has an issue with non-English characters such as Ö in surnames. My surname is officially written with Ö, so I’m not sure whether I should enter it exactly as it appears on my passport or use “O” instead.

I’ve contacted the university/Law UG Office about the registration issue, but I haven’t been able to resolve it yet.

Has anyone at Bristol, especially another international student with a surname containing Ö, Ü, Ç, Ş, İ, etc., experienced something similar?

If so, did you have to enter your surname differently or ask the university to manually fix your details?

Thanks!
