I am researching a piece about UVA secret societies and am seeking people who are willing to talk about their experiences within secret societies either in the past or currently. I can keep your name and your society's name anonymous—and I will also provide you with the ability to edit my notes from the meeting in case you change your mind. Above all, it would be incredibly helpful for me in writing this piece to get an understanding of the experience of being in one of UVA's many secret societies.

This might be a silly question but oh well 😭 I live in Lambeth but my car is quite far so whenever I have a lot to carry from it, it’s an impossible walk. Is it okay to like pull up on the curb with hazards and run everything up to my apartment and then leave? I can’t keep this up without my arms falling off 💔 and I have an irrational fear of getting towed or yelled at tbh 😛
On a similar note have people in Lambeth been able to DoorDash stuff or is that too tricky?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to take over my studio apartment in Charlottesville any time after September 19 and before October 1. Rent is approximately $1,250/month.

The apartment is within walking distance and easy bus distance of UVA Central Grounds, and the community is primarily made up of students and young professionals.

The apartment is definitely on the smaller side, but it truly has everything you need and has been such a cozy little home for me. I’ll honestly miss this little apartment! I’m only looking to transfer the lease because of a change in my circumstances.

I am a mid-second-year transfer student (4th semester) planning to major in Econ. My calculus prerequisite class at my previous institution only covered single-variable calculus. I haven’t learned multivariable calculus, partial differentiation, multivariable optimization, or constraint optimization—topics my 3010 professor said should all be review.

For anyone who has taken ECON 3010, I have a few questions:

Can I still get an A with zero previous multivariable calculus experience?

Is self-learning manageable for these specific math concepts alongside the regular coursework?

Should I delay 3010? I still also need to take the stat prerequisite to officially declare the Econ major anyway. Would it make more sense to take a higher-level calc class this semester to learn those topics and push 3010 to next semester?

Any advice on how heavily this math is used in 3010 or the best path forward would be hugely appreciated!

I am returning to education in my 30s and have taken on UVA as a transfer student for the networking and the opportunities that going here will entail. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time diving into socializing because I feel a disconnect from much of the student body.

Are there clubs or social groups that are welcoming to age ranges? Maybe a trivia group that would be willing to let me join at a bar? Book club?

I would love to be able to meet some students closer to my age, no hate to the younger sect of y'all at all, it is just a very overwhelming experience currently. I would really like to meet some people that I feel may have more in common with me to get myself comfortable making friends and conversation in my new environment.

If there aren't would anybody be interested in making one? I could see myself putting time into that effort if the interest was there.

I'm majoring is Psychology and English if that makes the invitation anymore appealing.

I’m a current 3rd year at UVA. The job I work involves carrying cash and unfortunately a friend of mindfound where I keep my rent money in my house and stole it, I have no way to contact them and they do not go to school here.
