Thornback cowfish from this afternoon in Komodo.

This is a male yellow headed jaw fish carrying his lady’s fertilized eggs!

I just bought a salted line seafrog housing for my a6700 camera with a 4" medium flat port (90mm) to fit my lens.

but i also have a macro wet lens that i bought from before, with a 67mm thread fin. How can I use it on my new housing? I searched around and it seems like most adapters don't do 90mm - 67mm.

HELP!!!

I found this spot completely by accident. Here in Cozumel, there are a few choices for shore dives, nothing particularly crazy during the day, but oh my god at night it goes insane! I go with friends and divers regularly, it's just the best for macro photography. All these are my photos, shot over the past few months on my TG-7.

I've been doing some underwater snorkel stuff for a handful of vacations now with my D850/ikelite and 14mm-24mm lens to keep things "more affordable" to see if I even like it. I don't dive, so it's just surface stuff. Learning curve is big, but it's been enjoyable, maybe cumbersome is the most annoying aspect.

I'm returning to a place with turtles as the main attraction (Akumal) and thinking about some upgrades. I can walk right off the resort beach straight into turtles, so lots of turtle time to make a new purchase worth it.

One of my biggest gripes with the underwater stuff is the cost to even get out onto the water and how rushed the normal snorkel times are.

What is the next step up for a lens? Fish eye? What about a straight port option? Everywhere I've been so far, just not close to a lot at the surface.

Looking for some advice on getting into underwater photography.

I mainly shoot marine/yachting photography at the moment. My usual setup is a Canon R6 Mark II, with an R7 as my backup, and I mostly use the 100-400mm and 70-200mm.

I’d like to start experimenting with underwater photography and have found a relatively cheap €1200 second-hand setup consisting of a Canon RP, SeaFrogs housing, dome port and the other bits needed to get started. From what I understand, I should also be able to pair it with my Canon 16-35mm f/2.8, which seems like it could be a decent underwater setup.

I’m considering going this route rather than buying a housing for my R6 II, mainly because it would let me get into underwater photography relatively cheaply without putting my main camera at risk while I’m learning.
For anyone with underwater photography experience: does the RP + SeaFrogs setup sound like a sensible starting point? Are there any major drawbacks or things I should look out for when buying a used housing/dome setup?

Also, would the 16-35mm f/2.8 be a good lens to start with underwater, particularly for boats/yachts, marine life and wider environmental shots?

Any advice for someone just getting into underwater shooting would be greatly appreciated!

I am travelling to Cabo for a Socorro liveaboard in 6 months. I have heard about the tax on cameras. Housing + Camera. + lights have a total cost of around $6500. Round trip flights from my home town to Cabo is about $700. Or I can fly through Mexico City, go through customs, and then do a domestic flight for about $900. Does anybody have experience bringing camera equipment through Mexico City?

If the chances of being charged on equipment is minimal there, I may opt to do that instead despite it being $200 more and a longer travel day.

OM-1, 2 x GTM strobes, AOI, 30 macro lens

I’ve been filming with a GoPro Hero 11 for a while and recently started getting serious about capturing higher quality video. Moving to DaVinci has upped my game a fair bit but I think it’d benefit from a better setup.

I’ve gone down the action camera upgrade rabbit hole and I’m not convinced enough has changed from the 11 to get something newer. I’ve got a trip coming up and I’m planning to try out GoPro Labs to push the bitrate farther and film in log.

I’m also leaning towards a wet lens like the AOI-UWL-03PROII. And probably a tray for stability.

The video above is an example of the type of filming I’ve been doing recently. I may add some macro but that’s a secondary priority.

I’d appreciate any recommendations on good next steps when you’re coming from just a GoPro.

Hydromedusa from black water last night. Komodo (Horseshoe bay), quite cold. As always OM-1, AOI, 30 macro, 2 x FotoCore GTM strobes.

This video was taken about 5-6 feet deep, very near the surface on last nights Blackwater Cozumel dive. The body of the fish was about 2-3 inches, this was at the very end of the dive and it quite choppy water so holding still was a real challenge!

So I'm planning taking my Sony Rx100v to shoot underwater.

Now my question is if it is worth it to buy an underwater housing for this camera of if its not because the camera isn't good enough.

Does anybody have experience with this camera underwater ans can share some experience.

Im not sure if the focus and the low light capabilities are good enough.

I recently took this photo with canon R10 - f5,6 ISO200 Tokina fisheye wide angle

I used 1/4 strobes

I am bit colorblind but i think photo is unrealisticly blue maybe ? (Is it?)

What settings i should have used for the photo to look better ?

Here is a nice little anemone shot with a swirl tube (a la Enrico Somogyi). You can buy them from a guy in Eastern Europe, but I made mine. I also have a square one but not on this trip. OM-1, AOI, 30 macro (Pany), 2 x FotoCore GMT strobes.
