What is the best library close by for fictional books?

Hey! I am looking for a regular public library (or something similar) just to check out fictional books. I haven’t had much luck with fiction at Ekstrom, so I am looking for somewhere off campus! I’m not from the area, so I would love any advice on your favorite libraries whether it’s because of its location or its book selection!

Don’t feel great so I need to call my doctor. Where’s a good spot on campus to make a call without disturbing anyone?

Thoughts on Engineering Fundamental course strucutre

I am a freshman Engineering student this year, and I have been really struggling with the format of how engineering fundamental classes are designed in terms of their flipped classroom approach. I don't like it, and think more time should be spend in term lecturing and giving instruction, and was wondering what others thoughts on the flipped classroom approach is? Do you think it's effective, and has helped you better learn and retain knowledge, or have you struggled with it?

Participate in a Clinical Trial for Borderline Personality Disorder

A Treatment Study for Borderline Personality Disorder

  • Do you experience sudden mood shifts?
  • Is it hard for others to earn your trust?
  • Are there many ups and downs in your relationships?
  • Do you find yourself engaging in impulsive behaviors (e.g., binge-eating, substance use, self-injury, impulsive spending)?

If so, researchers at the University of Kentucky are inviting you to participate in a treatment study for borderline personality disorder. Eligible participants will be provided cognitive behavioral therapy at no cost. We are testing personalized delivery of an evidence-based treatment for BPD.

In addition to attending therapy sessions, research participation will involve completing a diagnostic interview to confirm eligibility, attending up to 4 follow-up interviews, and completing online questionnaires. All study visits may take place in-person (in Lexington!) or via Telehealth. Participants will be compensated for completing follow-up assessments and questionnaires.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Meet criteria for borderline personality disorder following a study assessment
  • Are NOT using certain substances (e.g., opioids, methamphetamine)
  • Are 18 years or older
  • Live in Kentucky (visits are Telehealth, so anywhere in KY is fine)

To initiate participation, you can visit this information/screening link to determine if you meet initial study criteria: https://redcap.uky.edu/redcap/surveys/?s=9WKM4JJ8YTMKRF3C

I want to eat an entire bag of Totino's Pizza Rolls and a Bag of Hot Cheetos in front of the Ekstrom Library and I want you to watch me.

I've started back here at UofL, and I've been wanting to connect with some other people around here, but also do something fun. As such, I plan on eating an entire bag of Totino's Pizza Rolls and Hot Cheetos in front of the library and I hope to see you there. As of now, I still gotta plan it and get permission, but I'll put out the date soon and I'll try to get some flyers up.

Anyone ever finish their degree over the summer and know what time frame to expect for its approval? Finished my last class during the first term of summer (ending in May) and still have not had my degree awarded.

Meal Plan?

Hello! I'm planning on transferring to UofL come Fall of 2027, so I'm trying to get the finances straightened out in order to have proper time to plan and budget!

That being said, I'm struggling to understand the meal plans. As I'd be staying in a dorm, I have to have one unfortunately. Is there a way to cover grocery shopping with it? Is there a semester option or do I have to pay for a full year?

I tried looking it up on the UofL website, but I'm struggling on mobile and won't have access to a computer for majority of the day. Thank you for any help!

art studio/space for crafts

are there any spaces on campus that’s kind of like a studio where students can come in and make art with materials provided? my high school had something similar to that.

when i moved into my dorm i didnt really bring that many of my arts and craft supplies so i was wondering if there were any on campus i could access (btw i am not an art major, not sure if that would change what’s available to me)

Why is UofL so ghetto?

I am aware of the poverty and crime rates in the area. First couple days of class, and it seems most students are partying instead of studying.

Louisville Football 2026 Preview - full writeup, two-deep, and win probabilities

Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Louisville one

https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fbs/louisville-cardinals

It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.

Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.

So, what'd I get wrong? Louisville won at No. 2 Miami and then lost three home games by 3, 3 and 1. You outgained ACC opponents by 82 yards a game and still went 4-4, when that margin usually produces about a 67% league win rate. The defense was 16th in yards allowed, but the offense finished 105th on third down. Now 19% of the production is back, the receiver room lost 13 bodies including Chris Bell's 917 yards, and Miller Moss gives way to Lincoln Kienholz, who threw for 139 yards at Ohio State last season. My model still says 8-4. Do you buy that with this much turnover?

I'll be in the comments.

Anyone having issues getting a parking permit rn?

Commuting this year and the site just says “There are not yet any permits available for you to purchase. Please try again later.”. I didn’t have the money for the permit until now so I couldn’t have gotten it earlier. Is it closed or is purple lot somehow sold out?
