hi this was my first time ever attempting to do my laundry at grc. my pillowcases, my blankets, my sheets, etc are all stuck in the stupid washing machine because the door wont unlock even though it has no water in it to even complete the cycle (no warning on it or anything!)

i asked the front desk and they gave me the wrong number two times and ultimately just said they had no idea and it could take several hours for it to unlock. i have a really busy day tomorrow and i cant afford to lose all that stuff right now man. the washing machine just says "IE" and apparently all maintenance goes home at 5pm.

has this happened to anyone before? i cant stop panicking that someone will steal my things. its been a hard day

Hi, I’d love to work in ad industry as ad and with this job market, I can’t get anything junior nor internship. I heard a lot about VCU. Is it worth going to VCU for hiring/employment rate? I’ve seen a lot of VCU students getting hired.

I’ve applied genuinely everywhere I can possibly think of within a 20 minute radius and NOTHING is hiring. I’ve tried going in person, calling, applying online, literally nothing. And I’m applying for minimum wage/FWS jobs with a resume that has been approved by a career coordinator AND with previous experience in jobs such as food service etc. As a freshman with no car, does anyone have any like hidden gems I could be applying to or something??

I have an HP laptop so it's ineligible for Fixit. I just need someone who can take apart the screen and put it back together so I can put a magnet in it.

My son’s wheelchair is in need of repair and he’s stuck and I’m pretty sure we just need a hex key to fix it and get him moving again. It’s a little after 7pm on Monday. We’re in a back hallway in the commons near the commons theater.

Basically The title. I'm trying to seen if I can leave certian textbooks and gadgets at VCU instead of carrying it everyday from Home. Perhaps a locker I can rent for a semester would be perfect. I study at the College of Engineering. Doesn't have to be big, even something small would suffice

Hey everyone, I’m an international student who recently finished a psychology bachelor's degree in Germany. I have a strong GPA, a solid undergraduate thesis, and great recommendation letters lined up, and I’m seriously looking into VCU for my graduate studies.
My main goal is to pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology but I'm a bit confused about the program structure at VCU. From what I’ve seen, many programs in the US (and major research universities like VCU) lean heavily towards Ph.D. tracks rather than terminal Master's.
If anyone here is in the psychology department or familiar with the program, I’d love some insight:
Does VCU offer a terminal Master's in Clinical Psychology, or is it strictly Ph.D.?
If there is a Master's option, what does the admissions committee look for the most in international applicants?
Any general tips or things I should watch out for during the application process?

I’m planning on getting an electric scooter to make getting to class or anywhere easier. Do any of you who own scooters take them inside buildings or would I have to invest in a good lock to keep it outside? I’ve seen the no scooter signs before and know that most of the policies are that they’re not allowed inside, and was curious if they’re actually enforced. Do professors care as well? And lastly what lock and how do those that keep them outside ensure they’re not stolen? Thanks!

I am working on my essay for the Randi Buerlein Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship, and I am wondering if I am qualified to apply. In the essay prompt we are supposed to discuss our commitment to community service, but I am not sure if my political volunteering (canvassing, phone banking, etc.) counts as community service. What do y'all think, or is there someone I can reach out to for clarification?

I recently moved into Cary and Belvedere and we noticed the vent in the bathroom barely works when showering. You can’t stay in there longer than 20 minutes without suffocating from the steam.

Is it possible for a maintenance request to fix it or is this just a thing we have to accept? Does anyone else deal with this in CNB?

Play an instrument and want to join a band? Our annual VCU Pep Band, the “Peppas” interest meeting will be held tomorrow, Sunday the 30th at 6PM at the Siegel Center. We take in all kinds of instrumentation and skill levels from woodwinds to brasswinds to strings and percussion, and even had a bagpipe player at one point; it was wild! We're welcome to all disciplines and areas of studies as we have medical students, engineering students, business students, art students, and of course music majors among our ranks.

Even if you haven't played in a while or think you're not good enough you should check us out. I had a big gap between playing in high school to when I transferred to VCU and while I was rusty, it all came back pretty quickly. We play at all kinds of events, not just Basketball: Soccer, Volleyball, the occasional Lacrosse and Field Hockey games, and some community events like the Richmond Christmas Parade and races to name a few.

Don't have an instrument? shouldn't be a problem because we have some that can be lent out to use.

Best of all: It's Free to join! There are no club fees, or any fees of any kind to become a member, so why don't you come check us out this weekend!

The entrance to the meeting will be at the Loading Dock at The Stu, which is located near the intersection of Kinney Street and West Marshall Street and is across from the Bowe Street Parking Deck.

I'm giving away my textbooks from last semester. Nowhere (online or otherwise) is willing to buy them and unfortunately VCU doesn't have a textbook swap//exchange. I really don't want to donate them if someone could still benefit from them.

I hate this schools policies sometimes I’m new (a transfer) and I’m taking some community college classes and I’m at 10 creds vcu and 7 creds cc. I was told I can’t use the gym due to not being a full time student which is just crazy to me I pay a hefty tuition just for these crazy rules.
