The point is not 'these"tents- it's about the throw away society we live in when people across the world have nothing.

I think we can and should expect people to have positive behaviors without fetishizing other people’s misfortunes. It’s a kind of extractive empathy that borrows their deprivations for a high horse moment, they don’t need to be in this conversation.

Yeah, I think they've been offered to charities in the past (to collect), but I'm unaware of any that actually take them. They would need so much cleaning and checks to make sure all the kit is there.

Thats an application for charities to apply to clean stuff up and take it, not an article detailing how charities are collecting old tents. Muddy, missing pegs, potentially covered in shit. How many charities are going to process that?

I didn’t say they would be sent to Nepal my point was charities have the opportunity to salvage anything that is left. The items could be used directly, recycled or sold and money used. Not everything is covered in shite.
