Tallspace gives each monitor multiple vertically stacked workspaces. Scroll the edge control or use Ctrl Alt Up and Down to move between full screen and floating Windows apps without minimizing everything. I built it because ordinary virtual desktops felt too slow and clunky.

A month ago I posted here asking what an activity island on Windows would need

to be worth keeping. 21 of you told me. This is what came out of it.

Alt+X opens a copy picker anywhere. Two columns, category chips at the bottom,

click copies without closing it, and you can drag an item straight out into a

folder, a chat, or an upload field. Links get their own treatment — the site's

banner image fills the card, and the arrow opens the page instead of copying it.

Win+V has been open on my second monitor for years and I have not opened it

since building this.

The island also tells you which app you just entered. That sounds trivial and

it was the hardest thing in this release: Windows changes the foreground window

for a dozen reasons that are not "the user switched apps" — a window closing

hands focus to whatever was underneath, splash screens grab it on their way out,

background apps steal it while you are away from the keyboard. Each of those

showed up as a banner naming an app nobody touched. It now only fires on a real

switch.

Steam games were their own problem: the executable is named after its role

("wallpaperui.exe") and almost none of them carry an icon, so every game showed

the blank Windows exe icon. It now reads Steam's own manifest and artwork cache,

so you get "Wallpaper Engine" with its real icon.

Other things you asked for:

- Widgets are off by default now. Someone here said the island shipped with

things they would never use turned on, and they were right.

- Pasting multiple lines into the to-do field creates one task per line.

- Clipboard cards show the icon of the app you copied from.

Still honest about this: the installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen

will warn you on first run. The SHA-256 is on the site. The certificate is in

progress and it is the thing I most want done.

I've been building SpeakoFlow for the past few months.

It's a local, open-source voice assistant that lets you talk to your computer instead of constantly reaching for your keyboard.

I actually use it myself. Emails, replies, asking AI questions, drafting things, and regular dictation all go through it.

But there was one part I wasn't really happy with.

The speech-to-text worked well, but the cleanup didn't. If I wanted the kind of dictation cleanup you get from paid cloud services, I either had to wait too long or send my text to a cloud provider.

That kind of defeated the point. I wanted SpeakoFlow to be fast, local, and private.

So I decided to fine-tune a really small open-weight language model specifically for dictation cleanup. The model is the Qwen 3.5 0.8b.

The goal was simple: fix the mistakes and corrections I actually made while speaking, without rewriting everything else.

I recently finished it and integrated it into SpeakoFlow. It's now fast enough to actually use in my daily workflow, and the whole thing can run locally on a laptop CPU.

SpeakoFlow can now:

Hi! I’ve been building AhkLLM, a Windows LLM assistant that combines system-wide AI hotkeys with a full-featured chat interface.

The main idea is that you can use LLMs directly from whatever application you're already working in, rather than constantly copying text into a browser or separate chat app.

For example, you can select text almost anywhere in Windows and use a hotkey to:

• Rewrite or refine it in place
• Summarize selected text or an article
• Send the selection together with the surrounding document context
• Automatically include a screenshot with your prompt
• Run your own completely customizable commands
• Use FIM (Fill-in-the-Middle) to generate text based on what's before and after your cursor
• Use FIM Continue to continue writing directly from your current cursor position

AhkLLM uses Windows UI Automation where possible to capture and inject text directly, with clipboard-based fallbacks for applications where that isn't available.

The hotkeys are also integrated with the application's chat interface. So a command can either perform something immediately (like rewriting selected text and pasting the result back) or capture the relevant context and open it in a full conversation where you can continue working with it.

The chat side has grown quite a bit. It currently includes:

• Conversation branching and forking
• Custom assistants
• Web search
• File support, including Office documents, PDFs, EPUBs, images, scanned PDFs, and code files
• Local SQLite conversation storage

A lot of the feedback I've received has pointed in the same direction: admins want powerful tools, but they increasingly want point-and-click workflows instead of having to code everything themselves.

The Windows desktop app supports native per-application screen and audio capture. You can share a game, browser, video player, or another application with its audio in stereo without broadcasting notifications, unrelated apps, or every sound playing on your PC.

Hey! I've published a new update to LocalSend32 (https://github.com/fraaaaa4/LocalSend32), a Win32 client for Windows and Windows RT. This version is important, as if you want to use this with LocalSend v.1.18 or superior, you need to run this version.

Together with this, it introduces lots of new things:

- All versions now use OpenSSL instead of some using Schannel

- The tray icon now has some functionality to it, including directly using the app only from the tray icon. You can open a Drop target where you can drop in all the files you want to save, then click on the device you want to send to in the right click menu

- Many bug fixes: a bit less graphical errors, errors are more descriptive, you can cancel sending jobs, "Send files" gets enabled when you choose a device rather than clicking on it, network information actually changes based on the network status

- Now it works with hotspots and VPNs too

and a bit more! Also, it's the first version with two new executables: *LocalSend9x* and *ARM64*! This means that it can run on any main desktop version of Windows released, from NT 3.51 onwards (NT 3.51 and 95 do have a few errors, but that doesn't compromise on the functionality itself). Although I haven't tested it on every version, they should work without problems; check the Compatibility tab in the GitHub.

At first, my problem was simple: I knew an image existed somewhere, but couldn’t remember the filename or folder.

So I started building better search.

But once that worked, I realized search was only the first step.

I was still narrowing results, tagging, renaming, moving files, creating folders, and repeating almost the same process again later.

That changed the product into:
