I've seen a lot of discussion around the panel from ch 40 about how it hides the lower half of his face because Qifrey is remembering his promise to young Olruggio. And he really does look so young without the beard. But I keep noticing that they're hiding his beard in other scenes too. Thoughts?

I mean, she's been practicing magic for years and she loves it dearly. She doesn't seem like someone who would go against the laws but the more I think about it the more I think she would be tempted to. Especially after how her family treated her. I would be interested to see what pushed her to do it.
It's just a hypothetical tho nothing associated with the manga

That's my baby Itri 🥹 She's not a prodigy... quite the opposite, actually. She often struggles to keep up with her peers, thus being outcasted by her previous house and frequently looked down upon. She tries her absolute best to do better under Qifrey's guidance. ❤️🩹

Idk why but on my recent reread this just struck me emotionally. I think I like Tartah more and more with each read through. He seemed so... easy to overlook I guess? Like whenever he was on screen he was an accessory to Coco's story or Custas' story. But this kid has such a big heart and his own set of struggles and is also just trying to find his place in the world.
Tell me your favorite Tartah moments

I know the translation "visage"/"eye" was probably a mistranslation, BUT I absolutely LOVE this theory lol.
in the pic: Qifrey from the artbook (I think) - but it's official, art to better show his scar... I flipped it.. for the effect. 🤣

+ I haven't check on the fandom for a while, but the fact that someone noticed that Qifrey's scar looks like a STAR absolutely destroys me 😭

i was just going to make a post about this, and saw Linart6969's art being posted here so clearly i wasn't the first one to think of it.
the theory here is that Iguin, is not only related, but the same person/body as Qiffrey.
and here i'll explain all that i can recall to back the theory:
story wise, they're structured to have parallels, beyond the "eye" metaphor they both have (Iguin's mask and Qiffrey missing an eye), they are both mentor and guide to Coco, despite iguin's radical nature, he has never been shown to directly hurt Coco or any of her peers, only push them, this is Iguin's way of "mentoring" Coco.
they are also both extremely talented as witches, Qiffrey being known as one of the greatest witches of his time, and Iguin being the one to "lead" the brimmed caps. they both lead major roles in their parties.
secondly in some of the later chapters it's shown that qiffrey always wears a full suit because the tree growth has gone up to his shoulder,
now this next part is admittedly a stretch but i'm theorizing that they possibly are even bisected from the same person with each carrying a different side of the original brain.
and this also explains a major plot point, Iguin's ink.
we're shown that Iguin cuts his hand, to add to the bottle, i don't think this is him adding some tincture to the bottle because he cast a spell on himself or drank something,
i think this is because half his body, is silverwood tree. thus his "blood" is pure unfiltered silverwood ink, hence it's potency.
(meaning Qiffrey and other silverwood consumers would be able to do the same. i'm willing to believe this since qiffrey has no sign of tree like structure on his body unlike other Silverwood consumers having them, so it would make sense if Iguin didn't have signs of it either)
this (might) also explain how Iguin keeps finding Coco despite him not placing any tattoos or items on her, because both times that Iguin meets Coco she is with Qiffrey, (first in the ink store, and second in the caves) if the tracking an item in this world is as simply placing a torn part of it into the compas device, for Iguin to find Qiffrey it would be as simple as placing his own hair on one of the devices to track them. (but then again perhaps Iguin has simply placed some kind of liquid on coco like the knight moralis do or have some other spell yet unrevealed)
now the obvious counter points to this would be that Qiffrey didn't react with the same dizziness as he did when he encountered Custas, but maybe it's because they share a body? (again it's a stretch.)
also please correct me if i missed something, or wether there's stuff to contradict/support it. would love to learn more!

[Please do not spoil.]
Um... WHAT THE FUCK?! First of all, love that we got an episode centered around the main girls, all 4 are lovely. Second, THE ENDING?! HOLY SHIT, THAT WAS INSANE. Qifrey's gonna go on a murder rampage or smth. Also, Agott's snap at Coco? THE VOICE ACTING WAS SO DAMN GOOD!

Hey guys! Guess what—I finally got the first volume in my hands! It was a gift from the person I'm currently doing illustrations for. How cool is that? 😄

Unless I'm forgetting something, I don't think we've learnt anything of Tetia's backstory. We have however gotten the story of every other Quiflings and none so far have been great.
Agott was accused of plagiarism and seemingly disowned more or less from her family. We don't know exactly how she wound up with Qifrey though.
Richeh was being abused by her master until Qifrey came across her and found her.
Coco of course because she accidentally stoned her mother.

Could you make or I guess discover new or forgotten sigils by combining ones we have? I’m like 4 episodes into the anime and got no clue. I do feel like if you can half of it is forbidden magic.
Thats bout it, cause if you can I definitely got some magic I gotta try soon.
