Two things can be true at the same time: 

  1. It is incredibly challenging to live in society today on less than $19 an hour. The struggle is absolutely real. Sorry you're going through it and hope it gets better soon.

  2. Given your income level you probably do need to rightsize your spending for the time being. Find a roommate to reduce your rent. Move to a cheaper apartment/neighborhood. Reduce your internet and online spend.

$1600 in my area is cheap rent. That’s the minimum for a studio or one bed. Just renting a single room in my area is $600-$800, and almost impossible to get because it’s so competitive right now.

I feel you. A roommate may take some of the pressure off financially until you land something that pays more.
