Whiteman is decent. But he’s no sheaf or James.

Cadz looked out of place.

Longman was strong of the bench.

Just a word of praise for Eko. I mean the lad has just moved to a new county and is thrown straight into the deep end. Cant have been easy and hes going to take a bit of time to adapt but I thought he put in a good shift and was starting to get a feel for LWB role

The plan seems to be long passes down field and hope for the best. Then sit back and defend. No build up in the attack and they crack at the smallest pressure up high and just launch it. Is that the plan though? Maybe it is.

Lads it's gonna be a LONG season. Tactics, energy, individual creativity, sharpness in the box, defensive awareness... None of it's there and they don't all just happen out of nothing.

A lot of work (and signings... and luck) needed to get anywhere close to 7th this year.

Moore - Another display where multiple times he fails to trap a ball, balls go under his foot and headers to no where. Sick of hearing he 'puts in a shift'.

Broadhead - Lad doesnt currently look like a professional footballer, no idea how or why but he needs to be dropped. If Windass is fit enough for the bench, he is fit enough to start and clearly should have.

Vyner - Not been sure of him once since we signed him, at fault for their second, looked away as rebound comes in allowing attacker space to score, shoddy.

Parky - We had great play down the wings and we stopped doing it, reverting to hoofball. Takes Moore off and... continues hoofball. When our wing backs (any of the 4 who played) ran at people we got corners and balls in the box.

Im so tired of the rose spectacle fans (noting mostly new additions from across the pond) saying 'we were away at Hinkley 6 years ago'... the money we have spent and the level the club is now at demands more than wellying the ball up top as plan A with no plan B. Birmingham played okay tonight, we were so poor we elevated them and apart from a spell of 15 minutes around our goal, they were comfortable winners.

Tactical and attacking rethink needed.

Broady completely lacks confidence, and it’s just apparent that he is meant to play as an 11, not a 10. Not sure how we are gonna work that out.

LOB is very solid. Besides that one miscue at the end where he let the ball past into our end, he looked terrific. I’m looking forward to him and sheaf on the pitch together.

Good to see Windass. Hopefully he can get a start in soon

Looked awful the first half. Started to put it together the second half. Weak clearance by Moore cost us a point unfortunately.

Onto a tough stretch here. Hopefully by then with the window behind us, the players can settle in. Going to need it. Hopefully we do what we did last year and play up when we face tougher competition.

Watch it again.  Hyam is marking Klarer, but Klarer would have scored if Neumann didnt.  Vyner is marking Neumann, who did score.

One problem we seem to have developed is only able to play one good half. Its typically slow first half and much better second half. We looked much better second half again but we need more consistent across 90mins.

Apart from the Stansfield chance they didn’t create anything else.

I remember watching us a few years ago in League One against Birmingham where they completely dominated the ball and looked a league above.

I think once we get off the mark we’ll build some momentum, just a bit of confidence lacking.

That said some serious fixtures in the run up to the international break, we really have to step up in these big games, I believe we can.

Mate, three of our key players, including our top goalscorer and offensive key player have been out and injured. We also were the better team by far in the Cardiff match, and Watford we weren’t half bad either.

There were challenging moments in today’s game, sure, but it’s a long season, and we’ve a good side. Steady.

Yah I don’t even know why that’s a conversation. Wrexham are going to be a solid championship club again and that’s ok. 3 clubs with stronger squads got relegated and probably 4 other clubs apart from them have strengthened with intention to challenge. Wrexham are still sorting through league 1 players and solidifying their place in the championship.

That's what these folks don't get. Most of us are delighted to be here and solidifying our place at this level isn't a bad thing.

I'm still coming to terms that we are where we are. It's great. It's the forever positive people (mostly new Americans) who think promotion is always on the horizon who are gonna suffer for the foreseeable future.

It'll be a shame when they start to drop off because they're not getting the instant gratification they immediately became used to.

Also the finish last year gave people a false sense of expectation. Wrexham were not that good statistically. It’s ok to be a championship club for a couple seasons, and is a good thing.

The stadium isn’t even finished yet ffs.

Also going up while unstable and a flash in the pan isn’t always a good thing. Look at Luton.

Yeah 7th was overall flattering and mostly a result of it been super close in that 6-16th region. A result or two will drop or raise a team several places. While the likes of Coventry and Ipswich (even Boro at times) looked a mile ahead of the pack.

We're certainly no Coventry, and still a long way to go to even Boro, and none of this takes into account the relegated teams or the teams around us last year who improved more than us in the summer.

It's an uphill fight, but a fight it's great to even be part of.

Definitely don't think Moore should be leading the line up top when you've got a fit Sam Smith. If anything Moore is the reserve player you put on in the latter stages of the game and Smith to play the bulk of it. Would even think both of them starting as side by side strikers and dropping rathbone and just having one CAM would be a better option

Im looking at you Whiteman because you did something we havent seen in a Wrexham shirt for many a good season and thats blaming other players. You fluff your clearance and then starts looking around for somebody to blame. You might have been able to do that at Preston but thats not what we do here.

The frustrating thing is were very close to being a very good Champ team more than capable of promotuon push.. LOB and Doyte tonight. Fantastic. Absolute class. Kabby coming on and doing what Kabby does. Not just his quality but that attitude. He just wants to get at them and we need more that.

Gutted by that one but Brum are a bogey team for us and they always raise their game. Now its all on MW to get those last pieces of the jigsaw. Youve done a lot of talking recently but now is time to DELIVER. We need QUALITY. We have to take some risks because getting a carthouse like Souttar is not getting us promoted. GET IT DONE!!!

Watching the replays of their goals was painful, Vyner needs to sit out after that performance, looking away twice when the ball is about to come back in the box, not acceptable.

Frustratingly as you say I don’t think we’re far at all away from being a quality outfit, we just need as Parky said, more conviction, a bit of an edge and grift that has done us so well in the past.

Today they looked like individuals playing that just happened to wear the same jersey. There was no cohesion and sense of where the ball was going. Everyone looked lost and confused.

Smith and Windass should've started, they do better with possession and counter attacking.

Still hopeful for this season, Ekomiè and Imray look great and we can definitely close this out!!!

Takes from the result:

Awful first half, second half was much better but still not good enough for this level.

We need to find a way to get kabore and imray in this team, both of them are our biggest threat, change of formation if needed, maybe a 442 but Parky won’t change it .

We definitely need more quality in before the deadline. Especially a centre back, number 10 and striker.

Doyle is way too good for this league, we can’t keep depending on him to do everything every game but not complaining when he does.

I really liked Ekomie, reminded me a lot of James McClean when he first signed, has that extra quality and strength.

Next 6 games look tough, we’ll struggle to get draws in some of them games but hopefully I’m wrong.

Certainly nothing to warrant the fee paid so far. He comes off the line more (which is good) and seems to be more decisive but his distribution is just as bad and he seems to not stretch out as much. Is he better than AO? Probably a bit. Is he £8m better? Fuck no.

Soft goal to concede in the second half killed the game off for us. Had a golden opportunity to equalize at two but it wasn’t our day.

We didn’t deserve to win today, they missed plenty of sitters in the first half. We cannot come out to a match like that and expect a different result.

Great effort in the 2nd half up until the goal. Kabore excellent off the bench. Imray remains impressive. Backline was miserable today except for Doyle who remains arguably our best player on the pitch. Broadhead has had a rough start to the season, with Windass getting healthy I’m expecting to see him less. Ekomie was fine, clear upgrade over Longman but still needs time to adjust to the squad.

Disappointing start to the season but if we had won our first two I don’t think anyone would be complaining. Things will work themselves out. It’s three games in.

Wrexham look like Arsenal, but the exact opposite when they get the ball in the final third they finish most of their chances, but they don’t often get the ball into the final 3rd, where Arsenal easily get the ball into the final 3rd and then fail to finish

Imray, Doyle and the new wingbacks along with Moore have started the season well everyone else is still in Ibiza on holiday wtf. Anthony Patterson seems to be the worse signing of the summer, his kicks are exactly what Sunderland fans said, total trash and that 2nd goal cmon man you need to come out of your box and catch that ball before it even comes to the attacking player.

Parky isn’t the one negotiating with other clubs. He’s named his targets, and the club is working hard to achieve them, but it’s a competitive market and we’re out for ambitious signings.

Would you come to this team after watching this game if you were the level of striker/10 that we need. I can't see Pavel Sulc saying "yeah, that looks like a squad that can get me to the Premier League." Maybe we can get some U21 loans in those spots since it should be pretty credible to say "you'll get plenty of playing time".
