I like that at no point do they acknowledge that maybe being a working mom is super tough but often financially mandatory.. and maybe that Dad could step up and actually do some shit. Plus.. I'm not saying there aren't plenty of women who are happy to stay at home moms.. but I can tell you I have probably met in my personal life just as many who are clearly fucking miserable and have become anxious messes as a result of being a stay-at-home parent as I have someone who seems to be happy with it. Generally speaking, people like to be fulfilled on their own terms.. if your goal in life was to be a stay-at-home parent or it makes you genuinely happy to do so.. that's freaking rad ... You do you. But a lot of people had very different visions of their life.. neither one is wrong... But insisting that a woman's place is in the home by default makes you a fucking asshole.

I agree with you 100%.

I was actually a stay at home dad to our daughter when she was young, and because of our circumstances and my wife's job as a teacher providing better benefits and pay at the time, it just made sense for us. Now, I wasn't miserable (most of the time), but I will tell you that it was both the hardest job, but also the most rewarding job I've ever undertaken. I was a former USIC covert CT field team commander during the early 2000s and the GWOT, and I can honestly say, being a stay at home dad was a harder job than that. For me, at least, going to war and engaging in close combat with international and domestic terror groups, though far from easy, was still easier than going to war with an exceptionally motivated toddler hell-bent on getting her way!

Joking a bit here, but I was once told that "children are basically little terrorists without access to heavy machine guns and hand grenades." Pre-fatherhood, I scoffed at the idea, but I'll be damned if it isn't now the truth in my mind....

All jokes aside; children, no children, working, stay at home.. doesn't matter. People have to choose what is best for their lives and hopefully try to do what makes them happy, or at very least, what makes logical sense for their very personal situations. That should have nothing to do with some other crank's idea of what the 'perfect' ideal should be.

And no one should EVER take that type of shit, as seen here, from people who think they're the only arbiters of what's the correct way, and what isn't. Simply put, fuck 'em. You do what's best for you, and all others who erroneously believe that they're of superior position and moral fortitude who try to dictate YOUR life, can kick fucking rocks.

I'll live my life peacefully, they can live theirs, and that's where the line gets drawn. They forcibly cross that line of demarcation at their own peril.

Basically, it comes down to whatever the circumstances dictate and what ultimately works for one's own life and/or family based on those circumstances. This narrative that is being pushed by this AI slop is a hot garbage, dumpster fire fueled take, period.
