Tell me why and a picture of it if your able! :D

I kind of want to know some opinions, I havent really shown my art outwardly like that and I am wondering if it’s worth taking seriously to start selling.

If I were to get a decent reponse I would take it really seriously and move into large gallery like pieces and focus on this 100% , it is my passion but I am definitely a results kind of guy.

AMA , and give any suggestions please.

I’ve been wanting to paint Bourdain for a while. There’s something about his face and expression that feels almost impossible to separate from his personality and everything he represented.
With this painting, I wasn’t interested in making a perfectly photographic reproduction. I wanted the marks, colour and texture to do some of the work — trying to capture the attitude and energy as much as the likeness.
It’s an original oil and acrylic painting on canvas, using the graffiti/street-art influences that have become a big part of my style.
One thing I’m always trying to figure out with portraiture is how far you can push the paint before you start losing the person.
I’d really like some honest feedback from other artists:
Do you think the personality comes through, or have I pushed the style too far?
I’m particularly interested in what you think about the balance between the recognisable likeness and the more expressive marks.

It’s acrylic on canvas board 14x18

I kind of messed up when taking the first photo so the glint is a little overwhelming at the darkest part of the eye. Besides that, did I do good for my first few weeks of drawing?

I’m sorry if this is technically a bad and dumb question, but I’m saying this as someone who just DOESN’T have a steady arm. And I feel shaky just from trying, regardless of my grip. I still struggle at actual control, (and evidently so, it also has my hand writing looking very mixed) and I feel that is a step towards getting better at things like line confidence, but I’m also curious if most artists struggled like that. I’d also say I just don’t really know a comfortable way of holding the pencil, or even just looking. I’d very much appreciate the answers!
