Went to Maywood’s library today and was finally able to capture these pics. I love passing by this building! Maywood’s street signs and city marker also match their city hall

Welp, this brings my art deco “to do” list in NYC up to…186 buildings 😅💙

Picked up this giant perfume display bottle at consignment this weekend.

Are there art deco buildings, especially private homes, in Pittsburgh? I remember seeing a small art deco home in Squirrel Hill many years ago on Beechwood Blvd IIRC. The last time I went there, I couldn’t see it - either it’s not there anymore or I didn’t spot it. Would love to know if there are others? I don’t remember seeing many online. If you have pictures, even better.

Some context on this piece:

This stunning Art Deco sculpture depicts the Roman god Mercury (the patron of commerce, known for his winged helmet), carved directly into the stone facade of the Old São Paulo Stock Exchange building, located in the historic center of São Paulo, Brazil.

Designed by architect Felisberto Ranzini and inaugurated in 1937, the building is a landmark of the city's modern expansion and economic growth in the early 20th century. The sculpture perfectly captures the geometric, powerful, and heroic lines typical of the Art Deco movement.

From a bit of research online this was a souvenir bottle of cider vinegar. It glows bright green in UV light.
