Why don’t more guys get a vasectomy at 18? Why don’t MINDEF subsidise it?
I have only gotten mine done in my 20s, regretted not getting it done earlier. MINDEF should subsidise this procedure and promote it for all guys serving NS. This will help to reduce a lot of unnecessary stress from pregnancy scares and protect the ladies from having to rely on hormonal birth control.
If MINDEF subsidises vasectomies fully, it will help to prevent many unwanted pregnancies.

Not bait, I really wanted it for so long, but sadly not free unlike wisdom tooth removal.

Bro why is this your concern? After medisave i only paid $100 TOTAL out of pocket, which for a working adult isn’t an issue at all for an optional surgical procedure. SUS

Because every penny matters to me?! If I could get it for free, aka during NS I would.

What is this braindead post? Isnt it too early to decide to get a vasectomy?
-10
u/FitPassenger592 13h ago
Nope. Reversible anyways, plus it’s not life threatening even if it’s not reversible. At most they can’t have kids, small issue.

'At most they cant have kids, small issue'
💀

u/FitPassenger592 13h ago
Ya, small issue being childless. Not life changing.

No, serious questions only. I believe all SG men should be offered that during NS.

Should Redditors all help downvote this 6mo ragebait account together?

Not really, we can still remain the dominant party by only assimilating their best. They will remain our resource center.

1
u/FitPassenger592 12h ago

u/gearfighter2 12h ago

u/FitPassenger592 12h ago
No thanks, I might be PES E but I have standards. PDF files should get the snip at the neck.
1
u/gearfighter2 12h ago
How is your one defining characteristic of yourself being PES E. it only matters for 2 years lol

u/sequoia___ 13h ago
how much is it. if u can’t even afford the snip snip should u even be having kids. and if it gets reversed do u pay the subsidy back.
1
u/FitPassenger592 12h ago
After subsidies couple of hundreds yes, but could be a perk offered to our NSFs
1
u/sequoia___ 12h ago
doubt they will tho. esp when choosing to go childfree already frees up potential for more savings already.

At least entire platoon will be sterile for free, elective also so not like entire platoon disappearing. During MC can still do light duties.

u/Cybasura 12h ago
"Why dont more guys want to permanently be unable to give birth just because I did?"
1
u/FitPassenger592 12h ago
Lots of freedom and unlimited upside, what is wrong with that?
1
u/Cybasura 12h ago
You...do realise you can already do all that WITHOUT permanently removing that choice, right?
1
u/FitPassenger592 12h ago
What’s wrong with permanently removing the choice? Every day life is still the same being unable to reproduce.

this is a no brainer post, with the declining birth rate and they even give benefits now to babies born out of wedlock.
andd doctors wont let us do it even now we have a 1 kid need to wait til 35, this is private doctors.
1
u/FitPassenger592 12h ago
They should offer for free during NS, actually they should just give up and import more FTs. Same outcome if they get enough FTs in to maintain youth to elderly ratio.

u/tung_tung_tung-sahur 13h ago
that’s the opposite of what the government wants lol, they want us to reproduce more
