Discussion Could it be an european truck?

As we all probably know, another teaser just dropped!!! Yay!

Now I've seen some people saying it might be a bus or a truck, but after closely watching it for additional 3 seconds (due to low attention span) I've concluded it might be specifically european truck.

Do you agree or is my attention span really too low?

Edit: I just noticed I am the (at least) second guy who posted this, so sorry if that bothers anyone :)

All of these photos (should) have titles and descriptions in their captions. Feel free to read them!

I really love this update, it looks amazing. Fun fact for the only crash image: I had to clear the particles from the Dynamic Damage Particles mod because they don't get blurred with the Depth of Field.

The Ardente also looks great, I love it aesthetically. I had to stop myself when the update came out from just taking photos of it. Driving it is also fine, but I really the configs didn't save weirdly.

Hope my Porsche Guys will enjoy

(Really long text, if you don't like reading it then I'm more than fine; I have a TLDR towards the end anyway)

I really need someone else to tell me what the HELL is wrong with the individuals here.

Every other post is people just fighting for the sake of fighting. Oh 0.39 is running poor for you, despite doing everything (as far as you know) to try and fix it? You must've been one of the people that pushed the devs to release it faster you ungrateful brat! Oh you actually like DLSS? It's just AI slop and you HAVE to oppose it! Oh, you like gameplay-enhancing mods that were vibe coded? Again, AI slop!!! Like the Wydra, or see that chinese robot van for the first time and decide to ask what's with it? Deadly sins, worth tens of comments endlessly making fun of you. And it goes on and on, the drama never ends here.

Seriously, am I going insane? Or is the BeamNG community truly like this all of the time? You can't post anything negative about 0.39, because as far as the 12 year-olds with 5080s are concerned, it's the greatest fucking update with absolutely no bugs, that runs incredibly well for everyone with a ""decent"" PC (decent in this case means the cutting edge of tech available). No, I have a Ryzen 5 5600H, 32 GB DDR4, RTX 3070 laptop and 0.39 does not in fact run good. Neither on high settings, nor on the lowest. Turns out that, surprise-surprise, 0.39 stutters really badly because it's only using half of the resources in an instance, and then quickly jumps to 100% the next, which makes the game unplayable - even on Safe Mode, cache cleared, file integrity checked and after a fresh reinstall. It's cooked, I can't wait for the next hotfix that will (hopefully) remedy this.

I'm specifically bringing it up, because of the amount of glazers in this community that will either attack people who have a problem, or straight up give useless advice. Here's the post I made a week ago, the issue is still very much present. Is it a CPU problem, is it really? Or maybe, just maybe it's a game problem, because up until hotfix 4 0.39 actually ran fantastically well. The CPU is only used ~60% anyway, it's actually the 3070 that's listed as a bottleneck - even in the picture I provided. It gets to 100% and the VRAM momentarily seeps into the RAM, causing the delays. And let me tell you, 8 GB is MORE than enough for medium-high graphics settings with no traffic, if you think otherwise you're fucking delusional. And no shade thrown on the people that responded, at least they were understanding, even if the temporary solution I found came from a totally unrelated post giving some tips (clearing DirectX shader cache from Windows settings apparently helps a tiny bit).

I've seen people complain about those white and black blobs near water surfaces or just in general. I also had that problem, it had NOT gone away after clearing cache or verifying file integrity, which is this holy solution to everything around here, as if it'll always work; I had to wait two hotfixes to get it solved on Jungle Rock Island and Gridmap.

Next: what is wrong with DLSS 5? Well, apart from not personally seeing that much of an improvement anyways. It's just a tool that, for the time being is MILES ahead of the SMAA we have. And how is it AI "slop" (a word that has lost all meaning btw, you can stop using it anytime now), when you're the one consuming your own computer's resources to make it work? Do you people even think critically, or are you just going with the general rule that anything AI = bad? DLSS is far from perfect right now, it eats a lot of frames sure, but that doesn't mean it can't improve. Hell I constantly use it in Automation, where it has been implemented and worked on for years to perform okay and also look good. I'm sure this mentality of constant opposition to change will only lead to good things, not just BeamNG related, but I'm not here to change your mind so I'll just move on.

Speaking of Automation, it is an especially stark contrast between the Automation community and this one. I feel like I'm losing braincells every time I enter this subreddit: endless schizoposting, recycled memes that weren't that funny to begin with, and of course endless piles of drama surrounding DLSS, the vide coded mods (I'll get to that soon) and the ""ungrateful"" people that keep (quite understandably) expressing their problems with 0.39. I know it's hard to believe it when you're 12 years old, but nuances do exist. You can absolutely love a product AND show its flaws. Do I hate BeamNG or the devs after 0.39? Of course not! And neither do most of the people that expressed their problems with the update. You have to accept that BeamNG is by no means perfect, and that 0.39, although huge and absolutely awesome, is also the most problematic update in the last 10 years of this game. I know the devs have put an insane amount of effort into 0.39, and I absolutely respect the vision they had with it, but it should've been released a month later to sort everything out. Fuck everyone that rushed them, they do not deserve to be called fans of the game. Though I hope the devs have learned a valuable lesson here too: you don't have to always listen to your fans, do your work at your own pace and ignore the hate / schizoposts that may come with it, because it is almost always undeserved.

Anyway, back to the drama. Even though I've not seen as much hate for those 'make BeamNG more realistic' type of mods (created using AI), I still don't understand the hate. Until these mods will be added as standalone features to the base game, they are your only option if you want that particular niche filled. Don't like them? Then don't download! It's that simple. I don't mind any mod being made with AI, as long as the person behind actually knows what they're doing and doesn't just create garbage for the sake of it.

Finally, I have a problem with the BeamNG "culture" as a whole. There's this mentality of 'oh you have to hate the Wydra, it's such trash', 'oh you have to love the Pigeon, it's the greatest car ever invented', 'oh only shitboxes / supercars are fun to drive in this game, the other cars are boooring', 'oh you have to love irl car mods, they elevate the game so much'. I don't even know where it comes from (is it Muye? Is it BeamNG Shorts? Or both?), because I've grown up with WhyBeAre and Insanegaz doing BeamNG stuff and I've learned to like ALL of the vanilla cars and their funny quirks. And it's not like the Wydra is that bad of an off-road vehicle: sure it's slow, but you can definitely put its small size to good use on an off-road course. I remember when the Labrador Beaver mod (original Wydra) had dropped and I thought it was a funny vehicle. Also, I dare you to tell directly to the devs who you so lovingly care about, that you hate the Wydra and want it removed. Go on, tell them their efforts were in vain because the Wydra is not another funny go fast supercar. Oh right, you won't.

So, as a TL;DR - this subreddit sucks, both "sides" are screaming at each other over nothing, and I'm left wondering: is there no middle ground to any of this?

That's all I wanted to say, safe to say I'm never joining this insanity. I'm going back to my Automation projects :)
