Merchandise Identifying early Art of War model
I got this at a yard sale. Appears to be c. 1998. I emailed the company and they have no records of this model because it was too early. Even came with polaroids to show finished model. There is no record of this model online that I can find. It’s cool to have such a rare model but unfortunately it’s Griffith.
I don’t have a lot of hope since the company itself doesn’t know, but wondering if any die hard freaks can ID it.

Manga Hey, anime watcher, dark souls player, and first time reader.
This is how much Berserk I have so far, with confidence that if I started reading now I can get 13, 18, and 19 and be up to 21 by the time I get there.
My question is, should I start reading now or wait until I have more of the manga? I'm the type where if a story ends on a cliffhanger or something I will go buy the next volume to the detriment of my wallet. Is there a good stopping point around here or would it be better to wait?

Discussion who do you read as the Narrator in Berserk?
Obviously theres narration in many chapters but I've never thought on if the narrator could be an established character or just a voice.
It seems to me the 97' series depicted the Narrator as Void. I could see Skull Knight in the role just as well. Or maybe even in AoT fashion just a character that makes it to the end with us like Rickert or something telling the tale.

Discussion Miura may have told us exactly what Mori inherited, and what he couldn’t… Spoiler
Miura was pretty specific about how he wrote Berserk. He said he kept “landmarks” and a rough idea of what absolutely had to happen, but deliberately avoided locking down everything between them until he reached the storyboards. We know that process changed the actual story: Guts and Casca getting together wasn’t originally planned, Isma joining the group was unexpected, and even the way the Berserker Armor transformed came to him while he was drawing it. At one point Miura even said he used to have the “final moves” planned, but had increasingly decided he’d rather figure them out when he got there.
Now compare that with Mori’s promise after Miura died: he’ll only use episodes, scenes and lines Miura actually told him, and won’t fill in what he doesn’t remember. That gives us a pretty concrete expectation for the rest of Berserk: the big landmarks may be authentically Miura, while the roads between them are where the loss should show most. Major confrontations or specific dialogue could be things Miura described almost verbatim; transitions, smaller character beats and the unexpected detours that Miura used to discover while drawing may be much thinner or simply absent. I think the real test of the continuation isn’t “Would Miura have ended it this way?” It’s whether we can start seeing the difference between the scenes Miura already knew were coming and the story he would have discovered on the way there.

Discussion What are some of your favorite underrated pairings in the series?
Azan and Isidro: I view them in a washed up uncle and his scampered nephew dynamic whereas Isidro’s dynamic with guts is definitely father and son (almost). I liked the idea that when guts was healing in the Kushan chamber, azan was training Isidro (in a more serious manner compared to their training on Roderick’s ship)
Laban and Owen: just two actual decent nobles who are willing to risk their lives on the battlefield if it means protecting their land. I can’t imagine how refreshing it was for readers to witness these two rejoice after so long. Essentially what guts and Griffith’s dynamic should’ve been.
Guts and Roderick: again another nobleman who has a good and selfless heart and has the bravery and intelligence to make his mark against the opposing team. Seeing guts interact with Roderick reminds me of his time with judeau and pippin during the golden age arc; a time when guts can ease his anger and tension with the world around him and get comfortable with his comrades
