I’ve been wanting to try out an old Blessing M-300 and see if I like it more than the Yamaha 301 marching baritone. I’m also interested in using the valves for a project horn. The problem is, I’ve seen them come with three different logos. I know that the one that says “Blessing Artist Elkhart, Indiana” is confirmed to have Bauerfeind valves, as well as the stencil/clone F.E. Olds with the logo that says OLDS in all caps with an outline. The other ones I’m not sure.

What on earth do I do with these? Got an Olds Trumpet and Trombone from the 70s in their vintage cases with old sheet music in them and theyre cool but what do I even do with these?

La Tromba slide and cork grease made it so my second valve slide could actually move freely.

On my Adams E1, the second slide came with slight alignment issues, making it extremely difficult to pull out, with me having to loop a cloth through the ring of the slide and apply immense force. This was until i managed to get another container of La Tromba slide grease. Up until then, I had been using and trying all the slide greases I had at my disposal, so Yamaha, Bach, J Meinlschmidt, etc... . None of them had any effect as drastic as this one. I heavily recommend it to everyone. It's good, it's cheap and it smells great (seriously). it also tastes good.

I made a blind audition simulator for a certain music anime called Sound! euphonium , and I’d like to see how musicians who aren’t familiar with the characters would judge the performances from a neutral perspective.

For the euphonium audition, the trumpet player is the same in both recordings, so I’d especially like to hear which euphonium you think sounds better together with the trumpet.

For the trumpet audition, I’m simply interested in which performance you prefer.
The order of the players is shuffled every time you refresh the page, so the order from the anime won’t influence your choice.

I’m a trumpet player fell victim to the tuba drafts and I was just wondering if anybody has any tips to stop extra Slavic while playing

So I just received my new piccolo trumpet; it's a Selmer Maurice Andre with Blackburn pipes, and I love it so far. I've mostly been working on the low register and just practicing making the horn sound good. My high register is where it needs to be for the moment (F5 on picc and E6 on Bb), so I'm working on tone and fingerings and really taking time to make sure each note doesn't sound like a kazoo through a megaphone and using less air and effort to really let the horn sing.

With all of that said, right now I'm playing with a Schilke 14a4, which I have always used for baroque tunes on Bb. I have been playing this mouthpiece for 15 years and am very comfortable with it. On picc, though, it kind of feels like I'm trying to play notes through a brick wall, so I'm trying to decide between mouthpieces. Bach 7e, Bach 7dw, and Schilke 14a4x. I know the Bachs are probably the most prevalent and known to blend the best with others, but I'm not playing with anyone; I'm just a private teacher and a private player. I lean towards the Schilke just because the 14a4 is the most comfortable rim and cup diameter I have ever played on, but I also know that anything with the "a" cup is known for being way too shrill, but I don't know how that translates to picc. So, saying all of this, the 14a4x is the way to go, or is the Bach the way to really make the pic sing instead of shriek? And also, is there any mouthpiece I'm missing out on that has the same kind of rim and cup diameter as the Schilke that has but also has the open backbore meant for picc? Thanks!

What is this it's like dried up hot glue

I have seen a few bass Eb and Bb bugles (no valves) and was curious if they could play well past the 8th partial or if the mouthpiece, bore size and everything else caused too much of an issue. Just curious if they could be played more like a natural trumpet or Alphorn.

Just out of curiosity, how good trombones were the earliest olds trombones? Take from the 1920s, when the first "golden bear" or "its a bear" came. How good quality are those? I know some people have their collection of the earliest olds, but is there anybody that uses them regularly? Take the earliest patent that came in 1912 with the tune in slide (tis) system and the s through sym sizes, would they be used today?

Okey, thats enough questions. If you have a answer to one of them, please answer, and if you have more information of the early olds era, primarily before 1940 is most interested for me. That you in advance!

I switched instruments from my main and only so far being tuba, to the euphonium/baritone, and im having quite some issues. I'm being told by others that its normal switching from tuba to any other brass instruments. Could anyone provide any tips? I'm mainly struggling with pronouncing and articulation.
