I just wanted to share an unsavory experience I had with Rusted Moon Outfitters this morning 08/31 around 9:30 am in Broad Ripple.

I (26 f) was not actually within the store or on the property, I was actually passing by with my coworkers on the way back from a coffee run, and was on the sidewalk in front of the store front. An older man in a pick up truck was unloading a model airplane, and jokingly asked my coworkers and I if we wanted to go on a plane ride. 

We responded and joked back with him, one of my coworkers even jokingly said yes. It was all light hearted, until it wasn’t. 

As I passed him, he got way too close, grabbed me by the arm and pulled me toward him saying “oh, i like this one! What are you doing later?” 

With his grip still on me, I knee-jerk responded by saying “no thanks, I appreciate it” and removed myself from his grip. My group and I at that point were all very aware of how inappropriate this situation was and continued back toward the office. 

He then proceeded to call out after us, asking us where we worked, what building, etc. 

I tried to ignore how much it bothered me, but for how easily it was for him to grab a random female stranger, literally off the street, he is definitely a dangerous person. 

I actually went back hours later to confront the store, as it wasn’t yet clear if he was affiliated with Rusted Moon or not. After asking the staff who brought in the model plane, I was told the man in question was actually the store owner. After reminding them of the situation, it was clear that they were at least mildly aware of the situation, and very aware of his behavior, as one of the male staff members’ response was “yea, he’s kind of a weird guy, but he means well.” 

Um, no. His actions absolutely did not communicate well meaning intentions. And for the staff to just brush over it was mildly expected, but disappointing nonetheless. 

I guess this is all just meant to pose as a small vent and a large warning to any femme/female customers who find themselves heading to Rusted Moon Outfitters in Broad Ripple: The owner is completely out of pocket and a threat towards women, and I stand ten toes down on that. F you, dude.

Hey everyone! I’m helping my roommates look for a replacement as I’m moving out in October. We have a 3 bed 1 bath duplex off of 51st & Central. Pictures show kitchen, living room, and the bedroom for rent. Cat (Ruthie) also included! Rent is typically $650-$685/month (utilities vary based on the season). Roommates are two BIPOC queer women; one works in ABA and the other works in legal services and is in law school. Both are super friendly, respectful, and social. They are open to another cat as long as the cat is friendly with others. No dogs!

My son’s bike was stolen from a bike rack at Brics on the Monon around 3:45p Saturday 22nd. Picture is the same make/model/color. He additionally had a black plastic bottle holder, a black metal water bottle and a bell and headlamp clip on the front handlebar.

I have spoken to management at Brics and they are reviewing security footage. Please message if you have any information.

Anyone know what was going on at Christ the King / Chatard this morning? Motorbike police pulling people over, radar guns, cops standing around, and news crews. Was it something about school being back in session or something else?

Was at Fresh Thyme on College Ave yesterday and overheard an interaction outside. There was a homeless woman standing near the entrance, and an employee appeared to be on the phone with the police to have her removed. Another customer was there talking to him, saying she hadn’t been bothering anyone. Maybe there was something that happened before I got there that I didn’t see, but from what I witnessed, things escalated really quickly. I saw the customer walk away with the woman, probably trying to help her leave before the situation got worse. Curious if anyone else saw anything/surprising so see at a grocery store that has food donation bags right when you walk in the doors.

looks like they’re renovating, and was curious if anyone knew what was replacing it! hopefully a new business is coming soon! so sad seeing all of the empty buildings along the main road :(

coil apartments. anyone know these assholes?

Here is my issue: I moved from old apartment to a new one. Provided mail forwarding address but never got my mail for the few months I’ve been at the new place. I wrote it off as usps just doing its thing, right?NO. I’ve gotten other mails that are not part of the mail forwarding(please note that I did my part by doing the mail forwarding thing on usps website itself).

Now I have lost a lot of money bcs of this. What legal actions can I take as this is on them in some way, correct? All help will be greatly appreciated. The apartment is part of the Edwardrose property on the south side of Indianapolis.

Has anyone in the bripp or mk experienced a plague of bunnies this year? It's the first time we've ever had to put a fence around our garden. They are EVERYWHERE. Every flower and plant seems susceptible. Very annoying.

Was walking by the corner of N College and Broad Ripple Ave and saw that they’re building a Hamilton Walker steakhouse and seafood beneath the parking garage is. Looks like there is only one other location in Illinois. Has anyone been to it before?
