International solidarity ✊ Support the Canadian Network on Cuba!

r/canadaleft stands in solidarity with the Cuban people as they face a new wave of imperialist cruelty from the U.S. The Canadian Network on Cuba is the most prominent voice for support of Cuba and resistance to American aggression. The CNC provides material aid to the Cuban people, organizes protests, provides information on the horrors of the current situation and calls on the federal government to take action.

If you are able, join the CNC and contribute to their cause! If you are in a union, push them to become a member organization! With so much on the line, Cuba needs our support now more than ever

Canada can choose to prevent youth homelessness. The U.K. shows the way Proven prevention programs cost far less than emergency shelters. Ottawa should fund them permanently and bring provinces to the table.

I’m not a number." — A mother's plea to save her children's future.

I’m Rodaina, a mother of four from Ga.za.

Our home was destroyed, and my children’s dreams were shattered overnight. My sons were excelling in university and school, and my youngest, Dana, was just starting 3rd grade. Today, we live in a tent, facing hunger and cold.

We are trying to evacuate to safety so my kids can return to school and rebuild their lives.

An upvote, share, or donation—no matter how small—helps us prove to my children that they are not forgotten. Thank you for reading.

I’m a baby leftist - where do I start?

I’ve kind of ignored Canadian politics in all the learning I’ve done so far, mostly just because I’ve got no clue where to look. Are there any explicitly left-wing publications/independent journalists (or even spaces like this) that would provide a reliable way of keeping up with Canadian news? I live in Vancouver (specifically Langley) so if there’s any kind of coverage specific to that area that would also be greatly appreciated.

I also don’t know a whole lot about Canada’s history besides what I learned in high school, or the inner-workings of our government, so I would like to learn about this too.

I’ve also been wanting to organize somehow (although my mental health struggles don’t give me any confidence I actually will) for a while, but I have no clue where to start. Preferably some kind of grassroots organization that does local work I guess. Don’t think I’m interested in joining any actual political parties at the moment (including the RCP/CPC), but I’m of course open to learning more about them.

Thank you all. I’m glad I discovered this sub.

I mean, they've been U.S. propaganda for a while, but they usually try to keep it vaguely subtle. This is out-and-out labelling the Dominion Society a mere "anti-immigration organization". Every single member of that society is a neo-Nazi cunt who should be arrested, but it seems like the NP is quite okay with that sort of thing happening in Canada. This is absolutely disgusting coming from a widely-circulated "Canadian" broadsheet.

Write to your MP.
