5 for £1 so picked this up with Green Day albums, didn't check this one as I have a few Queen comps already

I'm a huge fan of Vocaloid, you might know Hatsune Miku if you're unfamiliar with the word, maybe Kasane Teto is ringing a bell as well! there are also others, like Camellia, Kenshi Yonezu, Mili, Project Sekai, but mostly Vocaloid and Vocaloid-adjacent here

I've been collecting for over 10 years now, but recently the prices have gone up terribly and my budget has lowered 💔

I unfortunately grew up just as the iPod started getting popular so I've never really got to use or collect CDs until now

I got the cd player and first 3 CDs for my birthday a few days ago and was lucky enough to find the Los Campesinos! CD in a charity shop today!

For the band With Teeth. Came to me with an idea for their CD release and over many prototypes and samples, this was the end result.

I was shaking when I found The Downward Spiral Deluxe at that price.

Two Pound Charity Buy.

Some nice compilations here, interestingly (or not), the Ozone Boulevard compilation / Birth of Cool Six are from Australia, and (the best of) New Order is from the US.

I live in the NW of England where the charity shop is…

Also a real find with the Steely Dan Reelin’ In The Years compilation, it’s the original Nimbus ‘85 release, so probably one of the better sounding Steely Dan compilations out there I understand.

Not shown in the picture is The Very Best of Morrissey CD / DVD compilation which is in good nick, and will probably sell that on.

the some great reward cd by depeche mode has its label upside down when stored, its kinda bugging me out, its an original 1980s copy so im scared to play around with the case to much incase of damaging it, any way to fix this or do i just have to store it upside down

Note: The CD between the Deicide digipak and Ziltoid the Omniscient is Ocean Machine: Biomech by Devin Townsend, but it must be some sort of eastern european edition because it came in a slimcase. And yes, I'm using an alcohol flask to level it. Otherwise it would fall over constantly :)

This is one of the dreaded MADE IN UK BY PDO disks, this one from 92. Memory fails me, but I believe it was a component in the lacquer that reacted with the reflective aluminum layer, causing it to oxidize and eat the aluminum.

The disc plays fine, mostly. I had a flac rip of this from way back in the day. Comparing this rip to that one does show a few read errors, but nothing you'd be able to pick out.

Basically there's no hope for this disc. The oxidation will continue. I'm considering some extreme preservation methods, like spin-coating the disc top with uv-cure soldermask. It'll stop the oxidation maybe, but the damage is done.

Oh well. Still pretty cool though.

A masterful work of turntablism. Hip hop with the right dash of rock and soul. Smooth album, real smooth.

IBLISS - Bintang Fajar
It’s rare for me to find doom metal that stands out enough for me to purchase nowadays. There’s alot of electric wizard/sleep clones. This group from Malaysia is a refreshing take on the genre mixed with a 50s feel.

Walrus - Hakari no kakeral
90s shoegaze from Japan. Wall of sound, insane vocals.

Also really hyped to finally add some MF DOOM to my collection. One was a gift and the other thrifted.

I like getting new albums in the mail there's something different about waiting for it to arrive and then being able to listen to it, also I preordered on Ebay because Amazon was double the amount.

I don't know if I missed out on an opportunity to listen to a great Primus album or if I won the lottery by getting a copy of one of the last two Soundgarden CDs on my wishlist.

Sure, it's missing some of the experience of owning physical media, but it's also in great shape.

I tore down an old outdoor wooden kids playset a while ago and kept the wood and screws for projects. I cut out the good wood pieces and I soaked all the screws in WD40 to clean them. Yesterday, I made this CD tower for some of my CDs. They didn't all fit but I was able to get a good amount on there. It cost me nothing but time to make this. I'm all about recycling old things to make new things. I really enjoy making things look vintage, worn out, weathered and industrial. I hope this inspires someone to make their own.

More recent grabs from Discogs. Personal highlights:

• Deluxe editions of the 13th Floor Elevators' first two albums! Arguably the creators of psych rock, and one of the great garage rock bands of history; and we didn't have anything from them in our collection except for some tracks on different Various Artists compilations. Really happy to get these!
• The Harry Smith Anthology is one of the most legendary releases in American music, ever. So many classic folk and rock artists, from Dylan to the Rolling Stones to Jack White, have taken inspiration from it. This "Revisited" set of covers by modern artists is bound to be fun.
• Neil Young's Harvest is one of the albums that got me through high school. I'm excited to hear the extra content on this four-disc version.
• Just starting out collecting the Pebbles releases -- our first two volumes.
• An MFSL gold Ultradisc copy of Santana's best album, new, picked up for dirt cheap. It doesn't have the lift-lock case; but I'm still pretty pumped.
• I've been a jazz fan for a long time, and jazz piano is some of the music I listen to most frequently-- especially Bill Evans and Bud Powell -- but I never really got into Oscar Peterson until this year, when I friend told me I was nuts for ignoring him. And I haven't listened to that much Ben Webster outside of his time with Duke Ellington. So this disc will be interesting.
• An obscure Zappa promo to add to the most represented artist in our collection.
