Hey all! I have finally decided to start doing my research into CNM’s programs. It seems to be a great way for me to start my career track almost inexpensively.

However, the only thing that kind of freaks me out is how CNM focuses its transfer efforts mainly for students looking to transfer in to universities in New Mexico. I on the other hand, would like to move out of state after getting my associates (preferably to NY or TX) from CNM. I can’t seem to find any resources or clarification as to how easy/difficult transferring credits from NM to an out-of-state school would be. It has made me hesitate on which major to declare for my application.

For anyone who was an CNM alum that transferred out of New Mexico to a new state for school, what steps did you take to transfer your credits without stressing out about the ordeal?

Hi! I’m a upcoming freshmen at Cnm and I’m lowkey scared 😀 I just moved to NM like 3 months ago so I honestly haven’t been doing all that much, I also joined CNM late (registered in July) mainly because I originally planned on going to UNM but had to unenroll because of residency issues and tuition I currently have 3 classes in person and one online. I am excited to start and hopefully start building a life here in NM but I’m seriously nervous haha

I enrolled in two of Dr. James Niforatos’ classes. Is he a good professor? I’ve heard his exams are pretty tough, so I’m a little anxious.

Hello, I'm an RN, graduated from CNM back in 2002, am getting ready to return to work after taking time away to be a stay at home mom; for years - even while I was still working - I've longed for the opportunity to take anatomy and physiology again (glutton for punishment? probably. but, I actually reeeally love science to begin with, so it'll be win-win for me...), anyway, I finally have the chance and have decided actually sitting present in classes will work best for me. I definitely remember that the instructor can absolutely make or break presentation of material, for classes like A&P especially, so I wanted to see if anyone can fill me in on who's supposed to be the best, as well as which ones are most difficult to understand/disengaged/etc.

These are the instructors listed for the fall '26 semester: Tappen, Broussard, Niforatos, Freeman, Calabro, and Elenes.

I'm only going back for the two semesters of A&P, so instructor selection really matters to me big time - thanks so much for any feedback you can provide!

I recently passed my HESI exam and have finished all of my prerequisite and required courses. I have already submitted my application to the Fall cohort. I just knew that if there are more qualified applicants than available seats, they may determine by used a lottery system. However, I noticed there are only enrolled 85 students this summer.

For those who have been through the process before, is the Fall cohort usually in a similar situation, or does it tend to receive more applications? How often does the lottery actually happen? Is it something that occurs regularly, or only in certain semesters?

I’ve been feeling pretty nervous while waiting for the results, so I would really appreciate hearing about others’ experiences.

I know to some this BCIS 1110 class is easy but I hate it and I also have a MacBook so I just was hoping I could FaceTime or something with someone who is familiar with this class. I just wanna pass and get it over with.

Please help.
