First of all, I really like MW4 Warzone Resurgence — even more than Rebirth Island. I think it has the potential to do very well once the gameplay, TTK, weapon balance, and other issues are properly addressed and fixed.
Tested:
- Warzone Resurgence
- PC – 4K
- GPU: RX 9070 XT
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Mouse & Keyboard
- Controller
Movement
- Base movement feels slightly too slow.
- The movement could use a small speed increase because strafing, jumpshots, and sliding to avoid getting shot feel too easy to track with a controller.
- Movement currently doesn't feel quite fast or unpredictable enough to create a significant advantage when trying to outplay controller players.
Grenades
- 🔻 Nerf: Stun grenades are too powerful.
- 🔼 Buff: Smoke grenades need more visual coverage / thicker smoke.
Graphics & Performance
- FPS feels unstable in-game, with noticeable drops and inconsistent frame pacing.
Visibility
This is one of the biggest issues I noticed:
- Enemies are too difficult to see in both very bright and very dark areas.
- Using a gun without an optic becomes extremely difficult when firing because the muzzle flash/smoke completely destroys visibility.
- Sniper glints can be invisible, especially when snipers are positioned on rooftops.
Matchmaking
This was one of the strangest things I noticed during testing:
- Mouse & Keyboard: I consistently got terrible teammates.
- Controller: I consistently got god-like / extremely strong teammates.
Obviously, this could be coincidence, but the difference was very noticeable during my testing.
Gunplay & Combat
- No limb damage multipliers makes certain hit locations feel less meaningful.
- Sniper sway starts too quickly and feels too aggressive.
- Shotguns have too little effective range and currently feel almost useless outside very close range.
Hipfire feels too inconsistent, often turning into spray & pray rather than something you can reliably control.
Reloading feel too slow during combat, especially when you're under pressure.
Long-range fights feel fair on Mouse & Keyboard. On controller, however, tracking a target can feel very frustrating because the aim assist sometimes seems to lose control of the target while simultaneously trying to take over your aim.
Close-range fights feel very odd and difficult on Mouse & Keyboard, while they feel almost godlike on controller due to the strength of the aim assist and tracking.
Controller / Mouse & Keyboard
Controller
- 🔻 Nerf: Auto-tracking on controller is too strong.
- 🔻 Nerf: Aim assist on controller is too strong.
- 🔻 Nerf: Controller has significantly less recoil, which feels too strong.
I felt like a GOD playing on controller, but I know I wasn't suddenly playing that much better. 😂
The amount of assistance makes aiming, tracking, and controlling recoil feel considerably easier compared to MnK.
Mouse & Keyboard
Overall, I think MnK feels alright and I didn't notice any major issues with the input itself.
However, you could really feel the FPS and performance issues when playing on Mouse & Keyboard, especially when trying to track targets and make precise movements.
Audio
- Footstep audio on PC is very poor.
- Enemy footsteps are difficult to locate and sometimes feel inconsistent.
- Directional audio needs improvement, especially during close-range fights.
Overall
MW4 Resurgence has a lot of potential, but there are some balance, visibility, and performance issues that really stand out.
These are based on my own testing and experience — I'm interested to hear what everyone else thinks.
What are your biggest issues with MW4 Resurgence so far?
