Pretty depressing state for the snow field, still technically skiable for September turns though!

Edit: whoops 2026 not 2027, hopefully it looks better in 2027 😅

Question Affordable Places to Learn Beginner Ski Jumps + Training Exercises? I don't have season pass

I’ve only skied for one season, and this will be my second. I tried popping off small jumps last season, but it didn’t really work out.

What are the best places and instructions to learn some beginner jumps safely? I’m looking for somewhere with easy, beginner-friendly terrain where I can practice the basics.

I don’t have an Ikon or Epic season pass, so going to those resorts just for a day can get pretty expensive. Ideally, I’m looking for more affordable options.

Also, what exercises should I be focusing on to prepare? I regularly do box jumps , squats, lunges and other vertical jumping exercises, but I’m wondering if there are specific exercises that translate well to skiing and jumping on skis.

I can ski green runs comfortably. I can make it down a blue run by doing a lot of turns

General The ACTUAL most recent NOAA Seasonal Outlook

Clearing up some incorrect information on this sub. This is the ACTUAL NOAA Outlook for next January- March. Previous posts showed a map showing below average snowfall for CO, which is not the official outlook (just read the map title, the words outlook or forecast aren't even in there). Note how this has the the title Seasonal outlook and is dated August 20,2026. If it doesnt snow this year don't blame me, this is just what NOAA says, I have no idea if it will snow.

Not looking so good for Colorado though. Especially with the extremely warm temperature forecast that comes with this. We could be looking at another 1877-78!

Carpool/Buddies Looking for Denver carpool crew this season! (25m)

Howdy y'all, I just moved to downtown never near Union station a bit ago and am looking for a new crew to carpool and shred with! I would like to find some homies to carpool and save money with so if anyone has openings in their crew let me know! (IKON) (Am open to anywhere in Denver as long as we can ride together to the mountains, will pay with money/beer) I'm a snowboarder and am pretty comfortable on the mountain but just started extreme terrain/double blacks 2 years ago so still getting comfortable. Am a snowboarder but if there are any less experienced crews around I got a pair of handmedown skis/boots from my dad so am able to tackle most blues on those and am very open to improving on those! If anyone is interested lmk and we can grab a beer/coffee to make sure the vibe is right!

Question Anyone have any good recommendations for custom insoles? Don’t have a wife, but could still use a good boot fitter.

Got new boots last year didn’t end up using them, hoping to break them out, but had foot surgery and want to get some proper insoles. I hear Surefoot is the place to go for insoles… wanna make sure that I’m not leaving anyone out. TIA!

This is what’s left… no way it’s skiable after this week.

Skiied it last night. Top has some snow that’s manageable to turn on but bottom is done for. I think this will be the first I’ve ever heard or seen it melt.

Question Attending FIS World Cup Race

I saw that Copper is holding a World Cup race this November. I have never been but always wanted to go experience one of the big races. I was wondering if anyone that has gone to one of these before could tell me if it was fun or more annoying than it was worth overall.

I would probably just be getting standard grandstand tickets and VIP Parking (since parking and traffic is what I would stress most about). Unless the $20 more for premium GA seems worth it.
