I've been on the hunt for a few months looking for a pure funk band that also has screaming vocals / elements of hardcore or punk. I can find a decent amount of bands that sound hardcore but have funky bass /other funk elements. I want the opposite: Pure funk / post disco (think Fat Larry's Band, Dynasty, Goldie Alexander, Patrice Rushen etc) with screaming vocals. And The tones of the instruments having that funk sound (no screeching guitar, distorted sound). The closest ive found is Hoobustank's first album (only on Youtube) and thats very hit or miss, it becomes math rock extremely easily.
I love the local scene in my area, do not be afraid to share niche bands. Also, this my first ever post on reddit, please be nice. Thanks yall!

How can I not reminisce Boney M! (although understand that that whole fiasco about the group is generally a part of the discourse). Girls had the vocals. Production's legendary. The back n forth storytelling was iconic.

Who'd have thought that Dee Dee Sharp, 15 years after her monster hit "Mashed Potato Time" would show up on the disco charts!
Modern Talking is my favourite pure disco band, hits like Brother Louie and Cheri Cheri Lady is such bangers that I can't understand why Modern Talking only got about 13 million monthly listeners on spotify. Personally I have 6 Modern Talking cds and play them all the time. My second favourite band in general, after Bee Gees.
Above:My favourite album: Ready for Romance, you'll love it
