Been there. I was once in a relationship with someone severe BPD. Constant threats about sleeping with other people or killing herself. You can try to get them help before leaving, but no one is ever obligated to be held captive in a relationship due to threats of self harm.
8
u/Molkwi Jul 23 '26
BPD fucking sucks for everyone involved.
I would know, since I'm of the unlucky "few" who happen to have it.
I'm just glad it's not too severe in my case.

They actually kill themselves? I thought it was just a manipulation tactic
5
u/racoondog999 Jul 23 '26
Depends how crazy the person is. Most of the time its a manipulation tactic sometimes the person really did see you as their everything and find life not worth living anymore. Either way there shouldn't be any obligation to stay if they go through with it whatever you didn't force them to go through with it

Like idk if my groomer when I was younger did or not but I frankly don't care anymore. He can go do whatever after making a child do the stuff he made me do. Part of me wonders if he's dead now and that wasn't just an empty threat because I saw proof he was willing to cut himself (thanks for making a child look at fresh cuts btw jackass) for me I don't know for sure if he would be wolling to do more than that too

An old schoolmate of mine actually threatened his wife, if she divorced him, he'd off himself, she eventually called his bluff and did divorce him, 2 weeks later he actually offed himself.

Well, I was never abused by a partner, but when I was in middle school, I made friends with a guy, and we hung out at my house a couple times. He then asked me out, and when I said no, he made suicide threats to try to get me to change my mind, stalked me, and eventually raped me.
If he killed himself after that, even in my house, I wouldn't have felt bad at all. Fuck that guy.

What movie is this
2
u/GsoKobra12 Jul 22 '26
X
3
u/GerrardGabrielGeralt Jul 23 '26
That's the shortest movie title I've ever seen ngl
2
u/GsoKobra12 Jul 23 '26
lol yeah. It’s meant to refer to the “x-factor” concept, as well as the X rating for adult films, which is the core part of the first half of the film
Also, on the note of short titles, there is a famous German film from the 30s titled “M”

I used to be kinda like that in some cases (not anymore and not with my partner), but at some point I stopped because I'm lucky enough to be able to use the gift of introspection and try to get better despite my mental health issues. I don't use them as excuses, btw, but as explanations to make sure people know why I'm a certain way, but I try to get better and not act up. I even told my gf what to do in case I'm going through some kind of episode or phase.
For context, yeah, I have BPD and yes I do have a girlfriend, but we're actually the healthiest relationship in our social circle as far as I know.

u/NedFlandersLordOfAll Jul 22 '26
To all the people just saying it’s a good outcome and cheering, YES it’s good that an abusive piece of shit is dead but you’re all missing the fact that regardless of this, it would be extremely traumatising to walk in and find someone’s corpse after they commit suicide to say the least.

Is there a subreddit/videos of distressing memes that are only dark subjects and not horror and/or junpscares
I want to not be able to sleep because I'm thinking about how bad the world is, not because of a junpscare or horror momster

u/SickDeskDemon Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
Boohoo, the guy that treats me like shit killed himself because he knew no one's as dumb as me to fall for his "weak and vulnerable" act only to beat me, mentally and emotionally manipulate me when i fell for him.
Too many times i see people fall for people like this but too scared to leave and be the reason that person dies. You can't come to me covered in bruises and cuts, telling me your girlfriend/boyfriend beat you then act like they're the sweetest angel that's only confused. Just fucking leave that motherfucker, best case scenario, they're manipulating you and aren't actually gonna kill themselves. Worst case scenario, that abusive, manipulative fuck removes themself from ever doing that to another person again. Better that motherfucker dies then i see you dead because they hit you a bit harder this time.

9 times out of 10 they won't anyway and if ANYONE tells you that they sould be instantly dead in your eyes, its nothing but a manipulation tactic. Unfortunately my sister has 4 exes who have done this and all of them are still kicking.

Happened to a knowledge in college…for some reason he didn’t gave a shit…for a fact the girl he was with at the time was abusive, manipulative and straight up cruel with him…I was next to him during lunch and he was on the phone…and I got that really bad habit to listen to thing that aren’t m’y buisness (will cause me great pain later) so they shouting and I herd "if you do I’ll (reset character) and make sure it ruin your reputation."…so normally I turned my head cuz I herd that…the guy say aloud, in the lunch room, with every Fucking student there and even professor,"I’ll buy you the rope if you want" then hanged up…of course that prime bitch did it and he got into lawsuits and yada, yada, yada, fast forward to trial, I don’t remember what he said but it can be resumed by (I do not care if she reset character, what am I even being accused of?) and they asked the students and other if we herd anything. Said that I herd that conversation, (they probably had searched the phone prior) so…is charge got dismissed…and I can only say that I hope people like is girlfriend was rot in hell
