I up potted my dwarf cavendish banana into a wine barrel. I usually pay very close attention to the depth I am planting, but I honestly can’t remember if I did and I now have all of these pups growing out of the base. I’m wondering if I did not plant it deep enough? Should the soil level be closer to the base of the leaf growth? I’ve already successfully separated one pup that was growing in the old pot, this just seems like a large amount to be growing out at the same time? Thank you for any advice!

I've never seen the lanterns as red as this. Any idea whether this is ground cherry or something else? We're in Michigan if that helps

This squash appeared in my garden without me planting it. Is it a squash that’s edible? Or just an ornamental gourd.

Genuinely so excited to see these pop up in our nursery stock of Corylus americana. This is our first year growing it on in production, and boy is it vigorous. They’re putting on new growth after a late-spring trim, and a few of them have flowers/fruits of all shapes and sizes.
It feels like most of the time these things are too far up in the canopy to appreciate properly, so I took advantage of their juvenile heights & wanted to share some photos. 🌰🤎

Found these while removing weeds in Eastern Pennsylvania. Are these Groundcherries/Gooseberries? It's difficult to get a solid answer on whether these have toxic lookalikes.

I don't want to get rid of it if it's edible - I was just thinking about how I should plant some next season.

I'm over in Washington state US and there's lots of this verity of pea around my area. The closest I could find this is a beach pea but those seem to have very different leaves than what I see here. Any other ideas or is my first guess correct? More importantly, can I eat it?

Found in Toronto. Came to ripeness recently. I tried one, very delicious and sweet. Soft and mushy.

I use the Picture This app a lot (with a grain of salt, never to confirm ID before eating) and this tree in my backyard came back as black cherry. My confusion is that the app says it’s toxic, and toxic to pets. My chickens forage around this area a lot (I realize they can eat different things than, say, me). But I also just generally thought Prunus serotina was edible?

Can someone confirm this plant and also if it is in fact safe to consume?

Planted it mostly because I thought it was pretty but I’ve seen some posts saying you should and others saying you should not eat this particular species of amaranth

So I ate some of this cone thinking it’s from a blue spruce since I found it under one, but now after searching a bit it seems different from a spruce cone. The taste is quite floral (like a perfume) the cone itself is fleshy and not hard, but also too big to be an immature cone.

Anyone have an idea what and where this cone is from?
