Discussion DJ Snake refused to play because the crowd was too small — thoughts?
DJ Snake was supposed to headline Fajer Festival in Poland on Sunday. He flew to Poland and was at the festival, but apparently saw how small the crowd was and decided not to play
The organisers ended up refunding everyone’s tickets
What do you think about his decision? I get that playing to an almost empty festival isn’t great for an artist of his size, but at the same time, people who showed up paid to see him and he was already there. Feels pretty shitty towards those fans

Music What are the best EDM festivals in the world that are actually worth travelling for?
I want to start travelling to more EDM festivals and build a bucket list of the absolute best ones around the world.
Obviously, festivals like Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and Ultra Miami are huge, but I’m curious which festivals people think are genuinely worth planning an entire trip around.

Discussion Live sets have made casual listening harder for me to enjoy.
Has listening to live sets made anyone else worse at casually listening to EDM?
I want to be clear that I still love the music itself. This isn't me saying that live sets have "ruined" EDM for me or that I suddenly dislike listening to artists like Illenium, Dabin, Seven Lions, William Black, etc.
The problem is the pacing.
After listening to live sets from Ultra, Lost Lands, and other festivals, going back to Spotify the next day and just listening to individual songs feels... slow. Even when it's the exact same genres and artists I love. A good live set constantly moves. It goes from emotional to heavy and back again, with transitions, edits, mashups, and energy changes keeping everything flowing.
Obviously, artists put a ton of work into creating those experiences, and I think that's part of why they're so good. But now I'm finding it harder to casually listen to EDM because I want that same faster-paced, constantly evolving feeling.
Spotify playlists don't really solve it either. If I search for a melodic dubstep mix, I often get a bunch of songs with the same emotional or sad vibe in a row. What I actually want is more variety in the pacing and energy, going between emotional and heavy songs the way live sets naturally do while still feeling like one continuous experience.
I know I could manually DJ or mix playlists myself, and Spotify has playlist mixing now, but I don't want to manually build a new set every time I want to listen to something different. Repeating the same playlist constantly is how I eventually burn myself out on it.
Has anyone else experienced this? Where live sets haven't made you like the music less, but have made normal casual listening feel comparatively slow or incomplete?

Discussion Today's EDM mimicks electronic music genres of the late 90s, just like how pop music mimicks of the 80s synthpop and 70s funk/disco.
I'm a fan of early 2010s EDM, so I really miss those uptempo genres like Electro House, Festival Prog House. I’ve been noticing a really strong parallel in the music industry lately.
A few years ago, mainstream pop was completely dominated by 80s synthpop and 70s disco/funk revivals (Blinding Lights or Doja Cat's Say So). It feels like EDM is going through the exact same nostalgia cycle. So much of today’s mainstream and festival EDM seems to be directly mimicking late 90s and early 2000s electronic genres (eurodance, late 90s trance, techno, jungle/DnB)

New Music Electronic music trend for the future
Hello,
What trends are you seeing are going to come up in the future regarding EDM?
It can be in the underground world or mainstream I guess to call it, like what happens in Ultra, Tomorrowland, etc... big festivals.
For example, in my city I see a lot of Tech house transitioning to funky house.
Also a lot latin house music

Social Media Seventh Summer
Hello everyone!!
I’m building Seventh Summer, a new independent house music platform focused on discovering and highlighting DJs and producers.
Right now, I’m looking for artists to feature through collaborative Instagram spotlights. Each feature includes custom Seventh Summer artwork, a short introduction to the artist and their sound, 7 tracks currently in rotation, and clips of them performing.
There’s no fee and nothing to buy — the goal is simply to discover good artists, create high-quality content around them, and build a community around house music.
If you’re a DJ/producer and want to be considered, send me a dm on Instagram, a little about your sound, and a couple clips of you playing.
My handle is
@7thsummer
I’ve attached my logo as well as the post format template from my first feature!
Excited to see some talent!

Upcoming Starlight Festival 2026 Ticket Voucher
Hey yall, my homie and my plans changed and I’ve got a voucher for a certain amount on the tickets of the festival. They’re non refundable and non transferable so I could only redeem a voucher for the event for the amount I spent. That said, I’ll get yall a discount for whatever it is you want (GA, VIP, etc). Prices negotiable but it’ll be cheaper than the quoted ticket price on the site! It’ll work like I’ll purchase it for you and apply the discount via my voucher and get it sent to you and you can transfer me the balance we agree on. DM me! Wish I could go myself, sigh.
This is for STARLIGHT FESTIVAL IN CAIRO EGYPT THIS OCTOBER 2026!
