I’d like to take a moment to reflect on this and discuss it. I would like you to read this to the end so that you understand what it is like to be an anti-communist who grew up in a communist country. I would appreciate it if you shared this message. This is going to be a bit long, but as a "gusano" I'm fed up and heartbroken seeing all these people meddling in matters that don't concern them, people who have never studied the history of other countries yet think they have the right to act as if they know more than you do.

When I was in Venezuela, my only thought was getting tf out. Since I wasn't part of that fortunate minority of the country that lived comfortably or peacefully after 2017, migrating was my only option. You know? I’ve known people, including family members, who passed away for opposing the government. Inflation skyrocketed, paying my tuition became impossible, and the streets grew increasingly unsafe. We were getting paid less and less and there was less food available.

That didn't stop first world commies aggressively defend the very regimes that destroyed OUR lives. If you enter mainstream subreddits and dare to post or comment about the reality of living in Venezuela, you get buried in downvotes simply for stating basic facts. Entire subreddits with a lot of users are openly communist hellholes whose sole purpose is to defend brutal dictatorships through sheer cruelty, cowardice and willful ignorance. What makes it insufferable is how the people who actually suffered through these regimes are systematically silenced, dismissed or spoken over by Westerners typing on high speed internet from the comfort of wealthy democracies. They actively censor, mock, and downvote real survivors like me by telling us that our lived experiences are just "Western propaganda" or "CIA interference." Our pain is erased so they can preserve their romanticized image they have on Communism/Socialism.

Common sense should dictate that in an era of globalization and mass internet access people across the world would recognize the catastrophic harm caused by totalitarian Left wing governments.
Yet you see people actively marching in support of Maduro and other Left wing tyrants. You could argue that some do it out of pure ignorance because some of these idiots probably couldn't even point to Venezuela on a map, but others do it out of fake solidarity and an obsessive attachment to their ideological dogma.
These absolute geniuses have chosen to support Maduro’s dictatorship regardless of the atrocities he has committed. The government has hunted down and murdered people whose only crime was wanting change, literally textbook fascism. Isn't rebellion against an oppressive state supposed to be the core cause of the Left? They even targeted and nearly imprisoned Koddy Campos, an LGBT activist. Why haven't I seen a single socialist condemn actions like that? That's when I realized something: the left only has eyes to criticize the misdeeds of the right. But if another Left wing government commits actual genocide, they will invent a thousand excuses to justify it and brand you a "fascist" if you dare to oppose them.

Sorry but how utterly miserable do you have to be in life to defend a regime in a country where you couldn't locate a single city? I genuinely don't get it. Is anyone here who can explain this shit to us? Is there a direct correlation between selfishness, personal trauma and ideological obsession? What drives these people to be so passionate about things that will never affect their cushioned lives? Do they genuinely believe they are on the right side of history? Why do they choose to ignore or dismiss the overwhelming mountain of evidence proving that Chavism (and every shit left wing ideology like Maoism or Stalinism who brought millions of people to death) is a total failure?

How are we supposed to deal with these people? Radical right-wingers are branded as bad people right off the bat, which I personally agree with. The difference with these far-left radicals is that they genuinely believe they hold the moral high ground.

One of the main differences between the far-right and the far-left is that, on paper, ONLY ON PAPER, the far-left doesn't look bad to the average person. What are the defining traits of the far-right? Chauvinism, xenophobia, racism and elitism. These are traits we are taught to recognize as negative from early childhood, especially in modern global culture. On the other hand, what are the traits associated with the far-left? To be honest no one really knows. But generally, the left is associated with concepts like "Anti-imperialism" (whatever tf that means to them because every commie has a different definition of this), labor unions and nationalization of key industries and natural resources. Everything outlined in the Communist Manifesto doesn't look inherently evil on paper. It's only when you implement it in reality that you realize it is economically unsustainable, utterly toxic and insanely prone to systemic corruption. The far-right strawman is much easier to identify and reject.

Because of this, First World leftists grew up seeing the right as the sole enemy, making it almost impossible for them to accept that the left can be just as evil or even worse. People who haven't experienced the nightmare of left-wing authoritarianism firsthand dismiss all the horrors they hear as "media manipulation" and fall into deep cognitive dissonance.
Looking at all this, I have to ask: will all the suffering Venezuelans are enduring be for nothing? Are the same fucking idiots posting in support of Maduro today going to be the ones whose votes drag their own countries into ruin tomorrow?

Socialism is straight up utter trash. Pure garbage. Straight up shit. And the reason isn't just that it doesn't work in practice. The reason is that the core of socialist theory is fundamentally incompatible with human nature. The theory itself is pernicious and severely flawed. Supporting economic freedom makes far more sense. If you believe the government should control certain aspects of society for "the common good", that's fine, I don't agree but I can understand the logic. What I will never understand is the insane idea that a government should control EVERY aspect of society, manage EVERY basic service for its citizens and somehow not turn into a dictatorship. Realistically, there is no way you can give THAT much power to a group of people without them becoming corrupt. It's just impossible.
I personally view this entire ideology as a religion. Trying to reason with these people is like trying to convince the Pope that God doesn't exist. They border on total fanatical lunacy and you can't have a rational discussion with fanatics.
All I know is that these people are lucky, EXTREMELY fucking lucky, that they don't actually have to live in a socialist or communist country.

I'm sick of being gaslighted. I'm sick of commies treating our suffering as a "secondary" to their First World academic dog shit theory. I'm sick of the Left painting themselves as crusaders for justice, anti-imperialists, and so on, when they're just as evil as the people they criticize. Why do they shit on centrists and the horseshoe theory when they constantly rely on the No True Scotsman fallacy? Of course, because defending communism or socialism from a capitalist country involves zero risk for them, they will never have to face the shortages, censorship or state violence that result from the policies they advocate.

Anyone who has lived in a far-left country knows exactly what I mean. I’ll wrap up this rant with a shout-out to the name of this subreddit: ENOUGH COMMIE SPAM. Let those kids go on about how much capitalism "oppresses" them, because true victims hate being victimized. No revolution ever happened simply because of brats moaning "I'm so oppressed!" but victims actually doing something, in this case for those of us living in socialist countries to emigrate in order to prosper in actual democracies. We need to show these people what the world's problems are really like, show them that beyond TikTok we are far more complex than we appear, which is precisely why it took us YEARS to reach the point where we are today.

The absolute cesspit and cultish behavior hidden beneath a bureaucratic LARP of the very story they're gatekeeping is amazing.

For context on the bottom-right image: it was taken in Novocherkassk on 1 June 1962, when factory workers (mainly from the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Works) rallied and went on strike against simultaneous wage cuts and raised work norms and sharp nationwide increases in the prices of meat and dairy products. Many protesters actually invoked Lenin and the promised Soviet principles and benefits of a “workers’ state.”

However, on 2 June, when several thousand demonstrators marched into the city centre demanding to speak with officials, Soviet Army and Internal Troops opened fire on the largely unarmed crowd, killing approximately 24–26 people and wounding dozens more. The authorities immediately imposed a total cover-up: the dead were secretly buried in unmarked graves, survivors were forced into silence, and later show trials resulted in seven executions and more than a hundred prison sentences.

KGB operatives also infiltrated the crowds in civilian clothes, primarily to identify and photograph the most active organisers, listen to conversations, and gather evidence. These materials were later used extensively in the arrests and show trials that followed. Ironic considering Tankies accuse anti-regime protests and revolutions as being "CIA-controlled/funded," whilst the USSR did exactly that on an actual movement expressing grievances.

China’s one-child policy lasted from around 1980 until 2016, when the government switched to two children and later three. The goal was to keep the population from growing too fast, and the state enforced it with fines, lost jobs, and sometimes much worse. One myth that still gets repeated is that families were punished for having twins or triplets. That is not how the policy was written. Multiple births from one pregnancy were usually treated as a single birth, so those families were not hit with the extra “social maintenance” fines that applied to another separate child. To their credit, officials did account for that. It just was not enough. The policy still trained a whole country to expect one child, skewed the sex ratio, and left China with a population structure it cannot easily fix.

The damage shows up in the long run, not just in the years the rule was in force. China now has fewer young workers, a rapidly aging population, and millions of extra men because so many families used sex-selective abortion to make sure their only child was a boy. The sex ratio at birth is still high, around 111 boys for every 100 girls. You cannot undo that by changing the legal limit after the fact. Births have kept falling even after the policy ended. In 2025 China recorded only about 7.92 million births, and fertility is hovering near or below one child per woman. That is not a temporary dip. It is what happens when the government spends decades telling people that extra children are a burden, then suddenly asks them to have more while housing, school, and work are already crushing.

A lot of young Chinese women are not interested in starting families anyway. Surveys keep showing that a large share of them do not want children at all, and many others will marry only if kids are optional. Education and jobs gave women more choices, but the cost of raising a child, the expectation that women will do most of the care work, and a brutal work culture made family look like a bad deal. Marriage numbers have collapsed from their peak in 2013. Men are not in a better position. The shortage of women, plus huge bride prices and the pressure to already own a home, leaves a lot of men with almost no reason to start a family in China. Some just stay single. Others leave the country for work or because they think they have a better chance of building a family somewhere else.

India is heading in the opposite direction, and that contrast matters. India is younger, with a median age around 29 compared with China’s 40-plus. Its fertility is still close to two, its working-age population is still growing, and it already has more people than China. That gives India a long window of extra workers and consumers while China’s labor force shrinks and its old-age burden rises. India still has to turn that age structure into real jobs and skills, but the raw numbers are a net positive. China used a similar youth advantage decades ago and then spent a generation cutting it off. The one-child policy did not just slow growth. It left China older, more male, and less willing to have children, while India is set up for comparatively stronger long-run development because it never ran the same experiment.

In the end, the one-child policy did not just slow growth for a while. It locked China into an older, more male, low-fertility future that later two-child and three-child rules have not reversed. Allowing twins and triplets without extra punishment was a small, fair exception, but it never offset the bigger problem: fewer women willing to have kids, and more men with little reason to start a family at home. India, by not running the same experiment, still has a younger workforce and a real chance at a demographic dividend. That is the long-run difference. China tried to control population and ended up weakening the population it needs next. On the other hand, India let their population thrive and they are all set for the future.
