Has the Governing Body ever apologized for ANYTHING? I missed it.

Didn’t they just say PUBLICLY at the annual meeting that there’s no need to apologize for past misgivings/understandings? This is crazy.

Nor do we… there’s no reason to apologize

The Governing Body is happy for our organization to spend money helping persons.

Bull-effin-$hit!!! I was a prominent elder for many years. Saw all the behind-the-scenes shit. Money flows one way in JW land and we know which way that is.

There are many schemes that we've had with regard to humanitarian areas, like flood victims, and so on.

Yeah, you lying twat, they are "schemes" all right. The org makes big bucks off all its schemes - disaster relief (it gets the insurance checks on repairs done with free labor), district conventions, etc. You know how we were told every year to only book hotel rooms for district (now regional) conventions from hotels on the orgs' lists? Well, that's because the org gets kickbacks from those hotels - complimentary rooms that it can it turn rent out for a profit or give to JW celebrities.

TIL about the hotel scheme. Is there any proof out there about this? I always assumed the aggressive approach to “only use the approved list” was more than just that “otherwise we can’t get good rates”… like, who the heck is going to know when I reserve online a room in another hotel, that I’m a JW? This wouldn’t make a difference at all. Sure if everyone did it, but not if a few do as sometimes they literally have to and then felt guilty about it.

I was also an elder and I can confirm that the hotels approved by the GB are because they negotiated comps or kickbacks from those same hotels.

I was in several circuit assembly elder meetings where the comped rooms would be given to Special Pioneers, Bethelites or given to publishers for a fee.

That's why the Governing Body is hell bent on providing a list of approved hotels for the publishers to use for their convention stays.

or given to publishers for a fee

Yep. I worked in the accounting department at district conventions. I received the money for those rooms. I saw it with my own eyes and held it in my hands.

I worked in the accounting department at district conventions. I received the money for those rooms. I saw it with my own eyes and held it in my hands. I also saw some of the rooms given to JW celebrities.

After the internet came about, I heard a super PIMI elder complain that he could get rooms cheaper online. I was shocked because he was a 110% believer and I never thought I'd hear him complain, but he was right. The rank and file peons paid higher prices so the org celebrities could get free rooms and the org could rent the rest of them for a profit.

The org doesn't give a shit about the rank and file. It's still telling young people to serve it and not get an education. It ruined lives like mine. I listened to it decades ago and now I'm 64 and will never get to retire as a result. JWdom is a self-serving cult.

Think about the disaster relief scheme. The org doesn't provide food or medicine because that would cost it money. It does provides building materials, but that's because it can turn a profit on those. It gets free labor (which is often the most expensive part of a building/repair project). When the project is over, it gets the insurance checks. I heard a long (hour or two) radio documentary on disaster relief. It was extremely eye-opening. I found out that disaster relief is a huge money-maker for many charities - not just the JW organization. I heard about all kinds of tricks/methods charities use to claim sites and get their first so they can get part of the massive insurance payouts.

Also, think about this... The org has instructed JWs who want to contribute for disaster relief to not designate that their contributions be used specifically for disaster relief. That's because it wants the money to use it however it wants. The org loves disasters. Cha ching.

Would love the link to that radio documentary

I would like a link, too. I have looked unsuccessfully in the past but will do another search - maybe tonight.

It was about ten years ago. I was driving at night on Interstate 95 around Savannah, Ga (out of town for work). I think it was a publicly funded radio station like NPR or Georgia Public Radio, but there used to be another station I listened to that presented documentaries and it might have been that one.

Again, though, it was very informative. Here are some points that I didn't mention in my comment above. A relief organization (I think it was Red Cross) bought a $200,000 excavator because it knew it could make big profits with it. Organizations would put "FEMA" signs on their eighteen-wheel supply and equipment trucks so they could pass by and not have to stop at interstate weigh stations, thus saving them precious time so they could beat competing organizations to the sites and get more jobs (and money). Some organizations would conspire to claim sites together; they would have reps wearing their logoed t-shirts stand on sites to claim them.

I already suspected it, but it reinforced my suspicion and provided me specific evidence about disaster relief and the big profits that organizations (including JWdom) want. They want those big insurance payouts and perhaps government-provided disaster relief payouts.

It is sickening and infuriating that the JW leaders brag about doing disaster relief when the org is not sacrificing or giving anything; it is making money on disaster relief.

Give me some time. I will try to research and find a transcript and/or recording of the documentary. I want it for myself, too.

P.S. They actually had people on jobsites doing interviews, recording sounds, etc.

their downfall is that they will NEVER do such a thing, and have put themselves in a position that they CAN NOT DO THAT,

specifically after the annual meeting claim that 'THEY DON'T NEED TO APOLOGIZE'.

In other words, they clearly take a stand that they WILL NOT do what was said by Jackson, and essentially give a huge fck you to the victims of CSA.

Which has shown their true colors.

Make no mistake, that the governments and authorities also have seen and noticed this, and that the Pennsylvania DA investigation into CSA most certainly will be taking this into consideration.

They also have proven not to use their funds, because time after time, they do not react in time to court orders and rather pay big fines instead of pay a victim.

Somehow it's like they are completely restricted to admit anything related to CSA ( which only makes you wonder ).

This results in their inevitable downfall because they cannot escape the profound and extreme depths of these cases and the accumulation of these cases world wide.

If they apologize, they go straight in against their recent claims, and classic character, and admit they are not god's channel and a 'spiritual paradise' or 'haven'. The remaining JWs in the org right now simply see it as government and apostate lies. If Watchtower admits guilt, they will understand that it weren't lies but truth, thus the apostates were talking the truth.

this destroys all the trust and foundations. after all, even if they'd reason 'they are forced by govments', then the govement/satan wins from Jehovah god.

so they can not apologize, as they'll be bankrupt in a flash since that also sets a precedent for all open and upcoming cases. slam dunk guilty, pay.

and the majority of people left will immediately be out, too.

meaning, their religion is immediately bankrupt if they do that. overnight, so to speak.

so they have 'no choice' - because their shareholders will never allow such thing to happen. so even IF a GB member would WANT to apologize (they wont), the shareholders will block such a thing, or remove them from their position.

Meaning no apology will happen, and for that, they only buy themselves 'time', of which they are running out.

They are running out of time because the CSA investigations are catching up to them, and eventually the same result will happen, it's just a matter of time. and these cases will see them lose loads of more members.

I think it would be presumptuous to assume they will apologize

2

u/Cicerone66047 Nov 21 '23

No apologies. No money. That would mean less money for GB.

This narcissistic organization won’t apologize or admit fault for anything
