Basically turned my little spot into a glorified office for mental health of working remotely alone all day. Tried to go for warm and comforting pieces with lots of light

I can finally afford my dream flat and bought lots of nice furniture. It is a mix between 70s/80s vintage, a few designer pieces and IKEA. I love 70s space age / 80s modern inspired interiors. I’m really happy with how it turned out! I live alone and it will stay that way for now, no matter if partnered or not. 🙃

edit: I do have a bathroom ofc, it’s just not very interesting.

It’s messy right now but I just love my living room. I remember when I first moved out in 2020 EVERYTHING was grey. (My tv stand is actually the last piece from that era) but I’m proud of what I created and these are my favorite colors

Yes we know we bought the wrong paint for the ceiling 🙃 but it was expensive. Quickly locking in on our cozy Fall vibes. We are hoping to find a better TV unit soon. I would also love a different coffee table to match the mood and be less boxy.

A man does live here (my husband), but he mostly stays out of any design decisions, so I guess it counts? Definitely still a work in progress and open to suggestions!

Hey! First time posting and looking for advice 😊What can I improve on in my space? I have no idea what to put on the walls, and things still feel very empty. I definitely want to upgrade my couch to a sectional, add over the toilet storage, and different shoe storage but other than that I’m not sure what I can add/take away. I’m excited to hear your feedback :)

Recently divorced after 12 years and finally doing my thing. Its bittersweet but I’m enjoying the freedom of displaying my trinkets and things I’ve bought/collected

i love the rug, the pillows, and the picture separately, but now i’m feeling a bit insecure with all of them together

maybe it’s a bit much of colors/patterns all mixed together weirdly? maybe they compliment each other? idk!

I am now the proud (?) owner of this hideous bathroom that was probably designed in the 70s. I don’t have the funds right now to do a remodel, or the time or mental energy to do much DIY work like painting the walls. At most maybe I could paint the mirror frame and change the lightbulbs. So really just wondering how to decorate it to make it more tolerable. Like what color scheme should I even be looking for in a shower curtain, bathmat, etc? I am at a loss

So I obviously have a problem. I have a bunch of prints and some posters that I want to display in my room but I can’t figure out a nice way to display them. The first three pictures shows how I currently display them, which I kinda like but I’m still not 100% happy about it. The fourth picture’s how I used to put them up in my old dorm. The rest of the pictures are just the rest of my posters and prints.

I would really appreciate any advice, feedback, suggestions everyone can give! I’m also open to buying shelves, frames, etc. Thanks so much!!!

Wanted something bold & chaotic and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out :) Just unsure with what to do behind the television. Thinking about movie theatre-style black curtains… any suggestions would be great!

More plants, a carpet and hung up my guitars

I am moving in to a dream apartment for myself and I currently have just a bed frame and nightstands. A cozy arrangement around the fireplace is where I hope my living room can be set up. The door on the left in the second photo leads to my bedroom.

I need help: where would you put the sofa(s)? Chairs? Ottomans! Tables!? (I know not to put the tv on the mantle… r/tvtoohigh lol)

I don’t eat sofas, but I do have dinner on the sofa every night rather than at a dining table (for a few reasons and it works fine for our lifestyle). But trying to find side tables is hard as many are too short to be useful for propping a plate or glass in easy reach!

Open to all suggestions and styles!

ETA: Not looking for lap trays or coffee tables

i like my room but honestly i cant stand spending time in it lately. it feels kind of shallow, like there's nothing much going on, and even though everything's in its place it still feels crowded somehow

its just a dresser, desk, and bed right now. i want to add something that makes it feel more fun to hang out in, not just a place i sleep, work and leave

what did you add to your room that made it feel more feminine, or just more comfy in general? curious what actually made you want to spend more time in your own space and gave you a good energy

Birthday gift from my wife 🌈🩷 bonus grumpy cat, who did not get any birthday patisserie because she's 17 and gets an upset tummy very easily these days.

My husband thinks I’m nuts for having three desks plus counters to use but it’s the only way to stay organized for someone as prone to disorganized chaos as me.

My logic is; (If anyone is curious)
1st desk for painting mainly.
2nd desk for shipping labels, business cards, thank you cards, certificates for original art, packaging materials etc
3rd desk for messy stuff where I need to keep the door shut for fumes or to keep people and pets out to avoid any accidental damage during sensitive processes.

Counters are for printing stationary mainly, paper trimming, and to have open space for laying multiple paintings to dry at the same time.

It’s what works for me and all my furniture is thrifted or handed down to me. The stone walls were an art project I did last year. Details and DIY advice about those in a previous post.

I love my home studio but I started out just sitting on a floor in my room as a teenager. Later I upgraded to my kitchen table.

Getting my own studio took many years and was only possible because we had extra space.

Hello! Here is my apartment. I would love some help keeping it functional but also making it feel better if possible if anyone has ideas. There will be some rambling…

I got extremely sick this year and have realized that I have a chronic illness and I don’t think it’s leaving anytime soon. I had a lot of plans for how to decorate my room and the rest of the space but after I got sick it kind of just fell apart and I have bits and pieces of that plan sprinkled through the apartment and then whatever comfort items my autistic a// decided to get while dealing with a really hard time. I spend 99% of my time in my apartment and it’s been getting depressing sitting next to an IV pole and watching things slowly turn into a mess every 2 weeks. I’m the type of person that needs things to be really clean and organized. I can’t have too much visual noise and I try to throw excess stuff away.

I know there’s better layouts for my bedroom but I have been rearranging the layout every two months because that’s whats kept me sane not going outside. So that’s why it’s in a strange layout right now. Of the layouts I’ve tried I usually feel cramped in some way. This makes it really hard to have anything hung up on the walls, even though that’s what the room needs. I don’t have that problem with the living room though. I also don’t really know how to hang things up either. I can’t paint anything because I’m only going to be here for two years.

Speaking of the living room, I didn’t buy the couch or the table but those two items don’t belong to me so I can’t change them out. The places that are stressing me out the most right now are the bathroom and my closet (dumping ground.) That and the spot right next to my bed (the splash zone) where I put my water and contact lenses and things get knocked over when I’m half asleep. If I don’t put my contacts there I’ll just fall asleep with them in because of my fatigue. The bathroom I really need to sit to do bathroom stuff and it’s just so awkward with the chair I have sliding around, my knees bumping into the cabinet doors. My hair dryer and flat iron cords getting tangled and having to pull them out. I’ve been meaning to get rid of the plushies in my closet and such but even with the stuff on the floor put away I just don’t like it in there.

I need to find a desk chair that I can sit weird in but isn’t so wrong for a desk, I never want to sit there even though all of my hobbies are pretty much in my computer. I also have polymer clay supplies under my bed and I barely ever use them because it’s a hassle to take it out and put it all away. Then I’m breaking my back because I sit on the floor to do craft stuff. I would hate making my desk messy to do it and moving everything around.

I love: Plants, warm lights, music, Sanrio, midnight/moon theme, my favorite colors are navy blue, orange, green, pops of red and yellow. And comfy/relaxing spaces.

Hi! I recently moved into a new apartment where I have room for a dining table. My previous kitchen had a counter for barstools so I never bought a table before.

What type of table (shape and color) would work best in this kitchen?

Please note the cat litter box has to stay in the kitchen as the rest of our place has carpet and don't want to risk any leakage. Willing to move the water dispenser and cat food if needed.

Any advice will be helpful, family just keeps telling me I should get whatever I want but I want it to look cozy and homey.

This bed frame could go to my spare bedroom instead and I could buy something new.
