Welded together a little frame to see if there is any interest in bundles. Threw together a manual bundler as well.

Ive been cuttin/splittin/stackin for about two years in anticipation of heating with wood. We thought we were getting an insert, but that didn’t pan out. (Different story, happy to share) But ended up with a free standing stove installed a couple of weeks ago. (Probably for the best, definitely my preference)

I think it’s appropriately sized for the house, but I’m just realizing it takes “up to 18” logs” and a lot of my firewood is slightly longer than that. It might fit corner to corner, but that ain’t the best way to load a stove, right?

Mostly, I’m just happy to cut down our oil bill and keep the house warm with nothing but my labor +some chainsaw gas and oil, but has anyone else dealt with this? Any quick fixes besides cutting two inches off a few hundred pieces of firewood?

Google says It’s virgin cork oak? Doesn’t smell like oak though

Anyone here buy kiln dried firewood in bulk and resell it. Been doing it for a while, curious if there's anyone else.

Barks falling off and you can see a bunch of big checks/cracking. I am curious if anyone else has dealt with Elm thats exactly like this and whats the Moisture content of these pieces?

The trees are 1/4mile from the house and no way to get my truck back there. I can get my lawn mower and 12cu ft garden cart, however there's a lot of tree roots on the path and I cant imagine thats good for my zero turn.

I guess I really need to go cut one down, cut it up, split a piece and check the MC before I commit to cutting down these 30 trees and getting it all back to the house. Or make the trail wider to get the truck down there, but that's a whole project for itself.

I am installing my wood stove to replace my old one. The appliance adapter fitting that goes into the flue liner goes in as a female with the liner being male. Meaning if I looked up from inside the stove, I can see the bottom edge of the flue liner. it would orientation like in the photo with the image bottom fitting to the stove and the top the liner.

This seems like the bell and socket are backwards? but I do not see another product or fitting that would do it in a way that looks logical to me.

I dropped several 30” pines in my front yard this spring for garden space and I’ve milled a good portion of it but, there’s still about 2 trees left that I just won’t be able to get to this year. So, I’m considering just splitting the rest for camp wood. How many bundles do you camp wood guys average per cord?

I’m looking for a log splitter to purchase. Looking for recommendations in the 2600 dollar bills range. Should I just go with a big box store purchase? Or look into something else? Would like to see what recommendations are. It’s for my fireplace.

Had a few Maples taken down in May, cut, split (huge thanks to my neighbor who let me borrow the splitter) and stacked. Ended up with about 3 cords, any chance this is remotely ready for winter? Northern New England, stacked since the first weekend in May.

Me and my wife harvest our own firewood (jack pine, max 8 inches across for size) from crown land by buying a permit and driving with my truck/trailer roughly 30 min. away, park as close as I can to a group of trees and drop them, cut them into just under 7ft sections (80 inches) and carry them to the trailer through the bush. It's exhausting and my back can't handle it anymore. I've been looking at some options for getting the cut logs to the trailer and I'm thinking to build a small trailer with a crane and electric winch for my atv, load that up with the logs and drive to the bigger trailer and load that up from the smaller one..... the more I think about it though the more I feel like there might be a better way. I'm still young and my mind isn't in the same boat as my back so im constantly fighting the thought of "its easier just to pick it up". Just curious if anybody has any ideas that might make things easier. Delivery is not an option, spending lots of money also isn't an option.

Was gifted some free wood (my favorite) yesterday. It had been sitting for years and the guy said he’d never use it so of course I load up as much as I can. Split what I could this morning and found some of it had some rot but no problem I’ll use that in my outdoor fire pit, the rest going to bbq with. Burned some of the rotten stuff as I split.

Neighbor had a tree fall, probably 1/2 mile from my property, told me I could take it. Now its time to split and stack.
