I was born here, but my dad's work took us out of state for most of my life. Since my extended family members are all from this area (Florence, Darlington, and Lake City), we still visit often. I'm currently living here because I felt both professionally and socially deadlocked in the part of Virginia that I had been living in for the past few years. I also have access to family-owned housing in Florence, providing another incentive.

Any tips for jobs? I started as a water treatment operator in Virginia over the past year and got my Class IV license back in December. I also have a B.S. in Biology (some retail and substitute teaching experience here and there). I applied for the apprentice/trainee operator position here and called Human Resources about a week ago to express my interest in the role.

If something adjacent to that doesn't work out, I am interested in pursuing healthcare roles such as a lab technician, but I'm aware that would require more certifications. I am cautiously open to teaching, but I doubt that would be a good fit since I didn't have much patience for students while I was a substitute teacher.

Hey people of Florence, SC! Me and my family are taking a trip to the city of Flo-town in the next week. So far we are going to the Spirit Halloween because of my baby. He’s obsessed with Halloween and possibly the Yogi-Bear diner with a very unlikely trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Are there any other places we should visit that are cheap or completely free? My fiance and I need a notary for a marriage liscense. The issue is that he is a PGY-1 at the hospital and we need to have this done by Friday. We are willing to pay for flexible scheduling due to my fiance's work hours.

travelling from Canada and have never been before. it seems difficult to get to the track, I want to have some drinks and not drive my vehicle. looking for an affordable place to stay that will also be relatively easy to get to.

its a bit expensive to stay where the shuttle takes your and people are saying some parts of town by the 52 highway are unsafe. Also near the track the hotel is also questionable. I also don’t have a trailer to camp in at the track

i know some people don’t care, some people do. florence need to upgrade on so many things, especially the movie theater. we are right off of i-95 and i-20. we should have a movie theater with imax or screen x. i’m so lazy to go out of town to watch a 2-3 hour movie with great features. i know this will not change, but im just putting that out there. it will always be too good to be true for this town to be advanced. i’m just ranting and being a crybaby, anyways.. :’(
