I don't think that has been disclosed yet. Everything but Ads do sound very plausible though, ads however is something i don't think they'll add.
If i am not mistaken, Perfect World has another gacha game in the making so the revenue from the ToF gacha servers and the new gacha game could both give off a chunk to give to the MMO servers. But that's just a speculation of mine.
I mean Perfect World have lost their mind a long time ago. And technically, if the MMO servers are a hit, more devoted fans will probably also try out the gacha servers to gamble for their favorite characters. Especially with diehard CN fans.
From the looks of it, they're hoping for their new game to become the next big gacha game and if that works out for them, they'll have plenty of money to fund the MMO servers.
I'd look at beta videos of the game, personally i think the graphics are simply breathtaking and the physics are really good. The character design, world design and animations are very appealing. Plus it seems they're leaning a bit more into a kind of GTA open world exploration, which would be the first one among the big gacha games.
Unlike ToF, the game is more designed to be hoyoverse player friendly (especially genshin) which makes those players more likely to try it out since it triggers a feeling of familiarity. If just a fraction of hoyoverse players stick, it's already set up for success.
To make a long story short, the game overall pushes a feeling of familiarity while still rivaling the others in the industry with their graphics, physics, character expression, exploration, animations, etc. Potentially, if they take a similar route to ToF in exploration rewards it could become one of the more f2p friendly games.
I saw that and it's interesting I must admit but how on earth with a company sustain something that'll eat production money like a black hole if it's not going to generate from a stable sour like gacha
I mean.. They are a super small company, they don't run ads or pay streamers, the actual content for tof is bare minimum, so they probably spend like 20-40k per month just for tower of fantasy. So that's 420k profit my man.
July 29-aug 24 is anniversary period. They rerun a lot of their 5 stars during this time iirc. I already got my flying unit last month and just playing minimally in case CN mmo server goes global.
