Have genshin ever had single digit millions?

Revenue they get from Welkins alone is probably bigger than majority of what other gacha can earn.

This and this. People wildly underestimate Genshins player base size. Also because of the lower rates of new character banners but also lower pull income Welkin is of significantly higher value than most other gachas $5 daily passes. I'm not sure Genshin can ever drop to single digit millions without some catastrophic happenstance, and I don't mean controversy I mean like the servers literally being off-line due to natural disaster or something.

I remember Genshin even having a patch once without even a single new character (v3.8) lmao insane work for a character gacha game to not release a new character for a whole patch, but I now wonder how much that patch made.

but I now wonder how much that patch made.

~35 million$ in CN iOS only. With 24 mil during normal banner duration and 11mil during extended period.

Oh I think that was v2.7. I was referring to the Sumeru v3.8 patch which released 0 new characters.

Yelan still reigning is the best hydro DPS after xinqiu.

Furina is furina though there's no comparison between them.

It's really crazy but with how tight the competition rn they'd never do that these days

Mizuki was literally released to go to the standard banner. I don't think they care that much anymore

no even a standard character like Mizuki still get 20+million.

Genshin has a much, much larger playerbase than HSR, so its floor is much higher because of the Welkin. The reason HSR can compete and even reach above Genshin at the top end for banners like Castorice, Phainon, and Cyrene is that it has way more spenders per capita. Especially big spenders because of the very low day-to-day investment, meaning the playerbase is much more jobbers.

u/ribbonfood Feb 01 '26

Yeah Genshin has from what I've seen about 2.5-4x higher player base than hsr. Their  baseline with just reruns banners like in Nov 2025 is still 20mil+

8

u/Advendra Feb 02 '26

Don't forget the special spending event which Genshin never do.

u/Decent-Ad-2755 Feb 02 '26

Genshin has 19.9m downloads on 2025 alone, (for mobile alone only???) this is in the revenue chart data site, either they were no.1 or no.2 I forgot

11

u/AlterWanabee Feb 01 '26

Nope. Lowest was like 18 million IIRC.

u/pipic_picnip HSR, Arknights, R1999 Feb 02 '26

I would argue it is impossible for genshin to hit single digits. HSR single digit you see now @7M is probably just monthly passes and even then many players are taking break before 4.0 because there is literally nothing going on. And HSR has a much smaller player base than genshin. So if the floor for HSR is 7M, genshin’s absolute worst floor is still in double digits.

Short answer, N O, so far.

I think it never had below 9 million
