I saw some clips of pvp and it really looked like if wow had a proper successor. The worat kind of scammers are the competent kind because it hurts twice as much.
Josh strive hayes has made some good videos about this, basically keep in mind that when it seem like MMO players are desperate for a new MMO it’s specifically MMO players who aren’t happily playing one of the currently existing MMOs - WoW, FF14, OSRS, GW2 etc. and are desperate to get in on the ground floor to a new community where surely they’ll have all the friends and glory that they aren’t already experiencing in existing MMOs.
There’s also a lot of (in my experience) older gamers who have nostalgia for MMO elements that have largely exited the mainstream these days (open PVP and no catering to “care bears”, “hardcore” experience with no fast travel or “hand holding” etc.) and they have the disposable income to throw at pipe dreams and scams promising to transport them back to their teenage years grinding everquest and to be the coolest guy in the community because of the $500 founder pack they bought for an unreleased game
