Don forget sensor tower can’t even measure Chinese android which is the majority of mobile sales there. These reports only amount to 10-15% of overall revenue for most of these pc/console gacha games. It’s highly inaccurate.
Less "probably" and more "definitely" - PC AK players are (Almost entirely? Did they ever get that PC client out?) playing via emulator.
It's useful as a yardstick for month-to-month performance of a particular game and to compare _similar_ games, and also helps people keep an eye out for interesting stories each month (a certain game they've not heard of had a really cool banner, or a recently-released game appears to be cratering). E.g. Wuwa and the three main Hoyo games are all on similar platforms and cover a similar niche with similar amounts of spending, so you can pull out that ZZZ seems to be falling behind the other three, which tracks their far more limited merch and more frantic monetization strategies.
It's completely useless for some games (e.g. DNA - that game is doing catastrophically but its mobile port in particular is so bad that you might as well read tea leaves to determine how much money the game actually makes).

I believe Endfield makes a substantial amount of money on PS5 and PC. OG AK probably not so much
