Naruto Mobile. A cashgrab IP game that makes a stupid amount of money despite being lower quality than your average Japanese cashgrab, solely because Naruto is the biggest Jump property in China.

There was a meme in cn where people kept saying "genshin is awesome"

This is sarcasm

Mostly using Naruto Characters because it's the series majority of the people grew out of.

To be fair, while the gameplay is meh, they do put in effort in character variations and stories. It's like the multiverse of Naruto and the only one of its kind because of that.

And as we learn from Nikki and LDS, if you don't have a competition, the players have no choice but to come to you.

Actually, it does have a competition it's called One Piece Ambition. It was made by the same studio (Morefun Studio) and was supposed to be the new 2d fighting game that would replace NM but "failed". It's still making money but not as much as NM, like it's everaging 2m each month according to sensor tower

I remember seeing animations they made for character releases and goddamn they looked really good

Also, we finally got Tenten looking cool!

While I vibe with Naruto's PVP balance a lot, I understand that being a matter of taste. But to say it's only a cash grab feels a little disingenuous when the game's content feels like it was made by the hands of actual fans.

I honestly don't mind the whalebaity PVE if it gives the game the wiggle room to release new characters regardless of profitability or popularity, especially when the whalebait bullshit doesn't really affect PVP anyways and PVP is the only part of the game worth playing. The fact that they release whoever they want from the IP without caring about how popular or recognizable they actually are is one of my favorite parts anyways.

It certainly might be of lower quality, the thing that separates this game is the fact that it is PVP.
Which lets it be of less quality while also being very unique in the Gacha genre that lets it stand out
IMO.

it's not a cashgrab. it's a game with good content/creativity from the devs. but also predatory. but it not ur average cashgrab of exiting anime IPs.

I think there's a lot of bizarre nuance in how the game's most predatory side manifests itself, which is unfortunately a pain to communicate succinctly in the reddit era of 2026. Same goes for the gameplay tbh given how diluted information about the game is in the global sphere. When someone says "I saw the game's gameplay", it could easily mean the dogshit PVE or the PVP that actually makes it worth playing

I've actually played this game years ago and know exactly what the gameplay experience is (I was a huge Naruto fanboy to the point I played a game with no English language support). & yeah, pvp is the highlight of the game. it was really fun.

Naruto Mobile is better than any licensed Naruto gacha game that has released on global besides MAYBE Naruto Blazing.

I vibe with it infinitely more than Blazing, primarily because all the noname randos actually have care put into making them usable. Whereas when my favorites were released in Blazing (if they were at all) I'd be lucky if they even got voice lines, let alone a semblance of a practical niche in gameplay.
