Ive been looking, staring and drooling over Les Paul's. Ive wanted a Les Paul Standard for over 20 years.

Today I bought my first Les Paul from Sweetwater. It was an Open Box item. $2,300 seemed like the right price.

Now I have to wait for it to be delivered. 😬

I got myself a very clean 2012 LP Tribute (this one has a mahogany neck). It's got the satin finish and for the price, I don't care much about scratches or dings! I now get why the endgame for so many guitarists is some kind of Gibson... I paired this with a Headrush Prime unit (I picked one up used - I want to try the NAM thing) and it sounds very very pretty. I tried a LP very briefly about 20 years ago, and it felt super awkward coming from super strats - so I disgarded LP's until now. Holy moly is this thing something else!

Help Why does my J-45 have a sticker logo?

I traded my amp for a Gibson j-45. For some reason it has a sticker logo on the headstock instead of it being embedded into the headstock. It was made in 2013. Is it real or fake?

As the title says. Trying to figure out the value of this. A project that my uncle never got to finish. He unfortunately put an Epiphone fret board on it but the neck and body are still pretty good other than some cracking. I have the original case as well. He also started putting a middle pick up in it but never got it finished. Looking to get it so someone that can finish it right. I think it could be awesome.

Discussion Faber Tailpiece and ABR-1 Conversion for a modern day LP Standard

Post image

Here’s the low down. I got this 2026 Les Paul Standard 50s for my Father’s Day gift. Absolutely adore this thing. I’ve already changed out the pickups and pots for Vintage Inspired Pickups 550k pots/caps and SD Seth Lovers (though a placeholder until I find the exact PAF Humbucker I really love for this guitar. Just using these as I know them well enough). I’ve had almost every single friend that owns Les Paul’s recommend switching out the whole bridge assembly for one of the Faber ABR-1 setups and was curious what people thoughts are on them and if it’s a worthwhile upgrade on the modern day Les Paul’s

I decided to make the curtains match the drapes on my British Racing Green 50’s Standard and installed these cream-colored Burstbuster pickups. Apologies for the poor lighting/reflection.

Discussion Sudden Finish Checking?

My favorite Pelham Blue Firebird just started showing checking in the last few days, but primarily along the headstock/upper neck and around the bass side upper bout. Anybody else have this happen? None of my other nitro guitars are experiencing this. Not super concerned after thinking on it but just odd all of a sudden to have start and only on one guitar.

Thanks to feedback from this sub, I picked up this sweet little Gibson LG-0. (They had a sticker on the pick guard, still working on removing the residue)

Help Les Paul Model ID

Post image

Finally joined the club after years of trying to find other tones. I traded an old amp for this at Guitar Center but the serial lookup isn’t giving me much answers.

They list it is a Studio Deluxe IV but since I can’t find it on the lookups I’m coming to Reddit for help.

I don’t remember these in 2011 (the year is the only detail I have) so no idea what specs these are loaded with.

Any help is appreciated!

NGD Finally got my first Gibson

As a teenager used to drool over a Pelham Blue SG in a sweetwater catalog and saw they had them in the Gibson website and pulled the trigger. It was a little bit of an adjustment coming from a 25.5 scale length but I think I’ve gotten used to it now 🙂

Discussion Question about Chips And value

Post image
13 Upvotes

I just went to purchase an 06 Alpine White Les Paul studio And I was gutted to find a chip on the bottom. You can barely see it in this guys potato picture.

I walked away. 1200 with a Gibson USA case. This guy won’t budge on the price and doesn’t seem to need the money. He wants what he paid for it.

Did I do the right thing walking away? I’ve got 1200 in my pocket for a white Les Paul. The primary goals with this purchase were partially an investment, and buying a guitar that would age with me like white Les Paul’s do.

How difficult is it to drop fill white with some light aging to it? I’m also considering a blueberry studio sessions also for 1000. Sigh. I have another option. Newer. Less yellow. No case. Same price.

06 with a Gibson case and chip were 1200? I just want to check with my guitar nerds. Thanks for your time.

Edit: thanks everyone. I’m buying a 2024 white studio tonight for the same price. It’s pretty perfect And the black nickel hardware’s real nice. Thanks everyone for verifying what my gut was telling me.

Help Please show me how this is fake

Someone I know is being offered this "Gibson" for £200, which is obviously too good to be true. The thing is I don't know enough about spotting fake Gibsons to point anything out other than the price.

If someone could point out what is probably obvious to someone in the know I'd be very grateful.

This is the only photograph I have.

Thank you.

Help 1968 Gibson B-15 value?

Post image

This was my fathers guitar when he was a kid. He never got into it but kept the guitar with him and gave it to me. Just curious if the $800 ish number ive seen is realistic. He got it with the pickup installed. It is a dearmond toaster pickup and currently not operational. Im aware not all hardware on pickguard is correct but guitar really only has wear from moving from house to house. No major damage. Thanks for looking

My friend’s 1977 Gibson ES345 Stereo (Left) alongside my own 2026 Gibson ES355 (Right).

A buddy of mine is selling the ES345 and wanted me to give it a good clean up ready for some pics. I couldn’t help but do a side by side picture of the ladies in red.
