Non-fictional I HATE these "gotcha arguments"

"Ohhh, look how I tricked this dumb dumb baby in my trap so now I am right and they are wrong. I'm so smaaart even though it does not adress the actual argument and adds nothing to the debate. They teach arabic numerals in school btw."

And these type of comments always get tons of likes

Because people, by context, assume that it is a human fetus. They don't check twice.

the point is they should not assume. Thats the problem. Blind assumptions. Gotchas only work on people who dont think twice, and it shows that they dont think deeply about the topic of conversation and are impulsive. Which to be fair, we already knew about most pro-birthers.

That’s exactly the issue I site, people are aimless discussing information they have no idea about.

How serious is an opinion from an individual that can’t identify their subject of opinion?

you can’t counter anti-logic with logic, you have to show them in unconventionally means the shortsightedness in thinking.

at least like this, they are forced to see their failure of understanding the subject far more than explaining statistics.

Let's say that we're arguing about wether a historical person actually existed. I make the point "This independent historical record references them, so I believe they existed." You then show a picture of the person and ask "So you think that this person existed", to which I answer yes. You then say "Actually, this is a 17th century nobleman, who just happens to look very similiar to our historical person. But because you identified him wrong, your whole point is false."

Based upon context, one does not check twice wether the picture is actually accurate, because one assumes it will be the correct one.

If your shortsightedness of a topic makes unable to analyze a picture how is that logical?

If I am going to defend something I should be able identify the defended no?

It’s more like a lawyer being unable to recognize the person they represent.   Even using your example, the idea that “ a single document is proof” is an  illogical take ergo the illogical argument that followed.

When you create an illogical argument why would then assume people react logically?
