It really feels like God's cruel joke but, hey, at least House is here to tell me it's not Lupus :)

Am I the only one that thinks Chase giving that 9 year old a peck on the lips wasn't that bad?

He ABSOLUTELY should have said no! It was a not great choice. But he genuinely thought she was gonna die and even because everything went okay, she still only had a year left to live 😭

It shouldn't of happened dgmw! But I don't think he's a weirdo for that.

Maybe it's because idek which rewatch I am at and I've been through this episode 10 times by now, but there are so many layers in this arc of man leaving....

But especially near the end with about 10 minutes left in the episode, he tells the patient she's dying, and she doesn't ask why....

I never understood why he had to ask aren't you curious about why you're dying

And then, when you find out.... This stands out even more

Why didn't I notice this before? Like the girls reaction makes it clear as to why she was dying

Scrolled through some behind-the-scenes trivia and found out House almost had a season 9.

(Just a reminder. This is the one with Katheryn Winnick who plays a girl named Eve. Eve gets raped and only wants to talk to House about it).

House was the first person to find out about Eve being raped. But it wasn't because she chose him personally to confide in him about it.

She wasn't telling anyone at first and that included House. But then she relunctantly reacted to him coming near her by yelling at him not to touch her. And then he figured it out.

I think this just as easily could have happened to any doctor who came near her during a checkup. House basically found out that she was raped by pure accident. And she didn't even tell him, he told her.

So maybe it wasn't necessarily House whom she wanted to keep on talking to but just the doctor who now knew what had happened to her.

And since the ice had already been broken between House and Eve, it would probably be more comfortable for her to just continue talking to him about her rape instead of having to start all over with a totally new doctor.

This also makes sense because Eve didn't know House or anything about him at all. So why would she choose him to be her confidant? Especially when he made it blatantly clear to her that he wanted nothing to do with that. And especially since she knew that he didn't specialize in talking to and treating trauma victims.

Unless maybe she was an empath and sensed that House was sad and so was she. So she simply felt connected to him because of that.

But she never mentioned anything about being an empath so I don't think that's it.

I don't know, what are your opinions of this episode?

I truly believe this scene is a testament to total breakdown and easily one of the single greatest moments in television history. What makes it so devastating isn't just the hallucination itself, it’s the bitter humiliation of complete self-delusion. House, the smartest man in every room, walks around believing he’s finally cured his addiction and found peace, entirely unaware that he is making a fool of himself while his mind slowly disintegrates. Watching his smug confidence violently strip away in real time as he realizes his entire reality was a lie, staring at the lipstick while Amber whispers right behind him is heartbreaking. It’s a tragic, painful breakdown of a brilliant man watching his own brain betray him. Unmatched writing and acting.

Vogler was terrible for the hospital, and I don't understand his argument about House costing too much

I'm rewatching House and the whole Vogler storyline bothers me more every time.

His biggest issue with House is that his department costs the hospital a ton of money while only treating a handful of patients. But wouldn't House's department actually be bringing in a ridiculous amount of money per patient?

Think about what happens to basically every patient House treats. They're admitted for like 3 days and in that time they get multiple MRIs, CT scans, blood tests, biopsies, medications, procedures, sometimes surgery, and occasionally they end up in the ICU. House will order 10 different tests just to rule something out.

Assuming the patient has decent insurance, wouldn't the hospital be billing the insurance company for all of that?

So yeah, House might only personally take on a few cases at a time, but those have to be some of the most expensive 3-day hospital stays imaginable. Meanwhile his actual department is House plus 3 fellows. How expensive can that department possibly be compared to what they're billing?

And on top of that, these are usually people who have already been to multiple doctors and hospitals without getting diagnosed. House figures out what's wrong with them in like 3 days.

But what really gets me is how insanely invested Vogler becomes in all of this. The guy is a billionaire who gave the hospital $100 million, and somehow he ends up personally obsessed with one doctor who won't wear a lab coat.

He basically starts wielding his money like a weapon. Do what I want with House or I'll take my $100 million and leave. He puts Cuddy in a position where she has to choose between doing what she thinks is right for the hospital and keeping Vogler happy. Then he uses his influence over the board to go after Wilson too, all because House won't fall in line.

At that point, how is Vogler good for the hospital? You have a billionaire threatening the hospital's leadership and board because he's in a personal pissing match with one doctor.

Obviously it's a TV show and hospital billing is way more complicated than "more tests = more profit," but Vogler constantly acting like House's department is just setting money on fire never made much sense to me.

If anything, House seems like he'd be the hospital's favorite doctor to send an insured patient to. 😂

I feel like that was the moment they came closest to kissing 😭

Hi, guys. So I’ve watched House for the first time this winter. And oh my gosh, I can’t let it go. That’s such a masterpiece. And problem is that I’ve tried multiple shows afterwards and even finished some of them but I every time after every show I’m thinking “well, that’s not what I was looking for”. Do any of yous had that? How did you manage that? What’s your best show recommendation to watch after House. I just need something to fill the void.

Beautifully done. It breaks my heart in all the right ways every time I see it. Number one show moment for me tbh.
What are your thoughts on it?

Everyone talks about House's pain, House's genius, House's self-destruction. But Cuddy? She spent eight years managing him, protecting him, cleaning up his messes. She gave him a job when no one else would. She fought for his department. She let him get away with things that would've gotten anyone else fired. And what did she get for it? A car through her living room.
